Purifier/defiler angels

Cleansing angels are a giant species of angel 80 ft in average. They don't have any sense of modesty and are all naked in general when they fight they use a rapier made of light. They appear the night or can be found mostly in darkness place like tenebra maze.

they are a bane for many creatures who are affiliate with the darkness, like demon, darkness elemental, dusk nymph etc...

Althought they are using light magic as the other angels, they have the ability to turn darkness into light.
The more darkness they find the more light they will create.

Any creature they swallow are cleanse from their darkness before they rebirth in a new life (in clear you are dead lol!

)

If the prey is to big, they use their rapier and mark their opponent with their cleansing holy cross. The cross use the darkness inside their victim to shrink them in order they swallow them. The speed can be slow or fast depending on the darkness of their victim.

The cleansing angels are very voracious and when they feel darkness inside a creature they have the urge to cleanse it. That's why many cleasning angels can swallow humans without to be considered as fallen angel.

PS:Do not confuse evil and darkness, the darkness is a power and the evil is a behaviour. So they can attack a saint if they feel darkness inside him.

They are a bane from creature who draw their power from the darkness, if you don't use darkness you won't be affected by them.

They are not really powerfull but they will be as powerfull as your darkness will be Very Happy

Exactly, when they feel darkness inside someone they can use it against him.

The lowest rank cleansing angel can defeat a powerfull devil overlord and loose against a simple fairy,dryade, or another angel.

Their ability is not based on the power but to counter it Very Happy

I meant he has innate shadow based abilities yet to manifest because I'm not there yet in my stories. This is why I thought he'd be screwed.

Even if they don't manifest they can feel it, that's why they attack many humans because humans has affinity with the darkness. That's why they are dangerous for humans.

He also has abilities with light if you recall my old stories, but there again I don't know if it helps.

It won't change anything, since the moment they feel the darkness inside you they can defeat you.

The cleansing angel is very strong to defeat any darkness creatures but they are very weak against normal creatures who don't have affinity with the darkness, like kenshas, dryads, fairies , nagas, nekos etc...

So Shadow, Darkness users are screwed. But a regular knight with no affiliation to darkness is safe.

Yes, angels oppose to the creature of the darkness a normal creature has nothing to fear about them. It's the case for the cleansing angels Very Happy

They don't know dark doesn't mean evil? And that light doesn't mean good? And if they are found in the Tenebra Maze, how come the maze isn't fully lighted?

Well, it seems that at least this species of angel isn't inherently good either, just strongly light-oriented. So if your OC has an element-using friend, he's pretty wel defended.

They focuse only on the darkness not about the good and evil because it's not their role, they do what they are good to do.They are not the only race of angels. Very Happy

They eat the body, not the soul. When they eat a dusk nymph or darkness elemental, the spirit is not eaten, so elemental or the nymph can recreate a new body after. So they have an ulimited amount of food. They can not turn the entire maze due to the fact they can not access to Déméchrelle or they don't want to risk to kill their golden goose Laughing

Under the Heaven and Hell framework I came up with, Cleanser Angels would probably be very "Holy". Not in moral terms, but in that they generate endless amounts of the positively-charged magical energy, which is why they are capable of easily overwhelming and cleansing "negative" creatures like Demons and darkness-based beings. Smile

I do have a suggestion or two, though... instead of Cleanser Angel, maybe Purifier Angel would be a better name? Because from their perspective, they exist to purify the darkness from the world and the creatures in it? ^^

And just for additional flavor...

"Due to their intrinsic nature, it is virtually impossible for a Cleanser Angel (Purifier Angel) to "Fall". Under typical circumstances, it just can not happen. However, there have been at least three known cases of Cleanser Angels undergoing inversion; exactly how the process occurred is unknown, but all three are rumored to have attempted to seek out and cleanse Déméchrelle.

Whether or not these Cleanser Angels actually managed to find the Queen of Darkness is not known, but it is clear that something happened. Inverted Cleanser/Purifier Angels are called Defiler Angels, and they are eerie beings; as Cleanser Angels exist to consume darkness and transform it into light, so do Defiler Angels live to consume light and transform it into darkness.

Defilers seem to radiate darkness from the very core of their being, and absorb all light within their presence. They have pretty much the same powers that they possessed as Cleanser Angels, only they work in an opposite fashion. Defilers are apparently just as unconcerned with matters of good and evil as they were when they were Cleanser Angels... their sole interest is consuming and "recycling" entities strongly aligned with the Light into darkness-based creatures.

Rumored sightings of a Defiler Angel automatically set the Celestial Orders of Heaven on high alert, as they are considered an extreme threat to other angels; the Heavenly Host takes them so seriously that they never send anything else than entire squads of elite warriors to investigate locations where Defiler Angels were said to be seen. Just as with their light counterparts, a single Defiler Angel is a tough fight for even the strongest Archangels, but is fairly powerless against creatures that have no affinity for the primal force of light.

Strangely, it appears that Cleanser Angels and Defiler Angels have no effect at all upon one another; or perhaps more accurately, their natures repel one another like similiar magnetic poles. Despite being one of the most darkness-aligned creatures in existence, a Defiler Angel can not be consumed or transformed by a Cleanser Angel, and the reverse is also true. Exactly why this is so is unknown, but there are many theories currently in development regarding the matter among the Psi'ol Magiocracy."
