Alright, I got a #Felarya IRC Channel set up. It's on the DALnet Server.
Basic steps to connect:
1. Download an IRC Client (I'm going to use
mIRC in this guide)
2. Start the client (if a dialog box pops up, just close it for now).
3. Go to File -> Select Server
4. Scroll down until you find DALnet and highlight it.
5. Click the Select button
6. There should now be a screen with 4 boxes for input. Enter the information in those four boxes (Alternate means an alternate nickname in case yours has already been chosen)
7. Click OK.
8. Click the little lightning-bolt button below the File menu option
9. Wait for the connection
10. Type '/join #Felarya' (w/o the quotes).
11. Say hello to everyone
12. Optional (but HIGHLY recommended): type '/nickserv register <password> <email address>' (w/o the quotes)
13. The preceding step will prevent other people from using your nickname. You'll need to wait for an email that contains simple verification instructions before you are actually registered.
14. After you've registered and followed the e-mail instructions, all you need to do in the future to log on is click the lightning bolt, wait for the connection, type '/nickserv identify <password>' (w/o the quotes), and then type /join #Felarya (if you weren't automatically reconnected).
