In order to encourage more in depth discussion of the major Felaryan races, I propose adding subcategories for the ten major types:
Naga, Dridder, Fairy, Neko, Human, Elf, Harpy, Centaur, Mermaid, and Angel/Demon
Having these subcategories would allow for threads on deeper subjects without these major races getting buried under all of the new species ideas.

This would also open up the main Ideas Discussion section to the many subspecies that are constantly getting created.

I'd say lets not differ between every race but between every category. So there would be a subforum for:


- Races and Vegetation
- Specific Characters with names
- Locations
- Artifacts
- History of Felarya itself
- Other

Well, you don't much need an "other" section, as that is sort of understood to be the base category.

I could see those categories being much more suitable for the New Ideas section, as there is a lot of room for entirely new ideas in them, but they're not specific enough to provoke in depth discussion.

Artifacts for instance, all of the depth you could care to want for an artifact can be placed in one post, so the subcategory would be ideal for containing many many new artefact ideas, but very very few artefacts need a thread to discuss in depth their history and interactions.

By adding subcategories that focus on the major races, it would be more organized for discussing the history, cultures, interactions, societal image, etc of those races, thus making them much deeper.

Dridders for instance, very little brainstorming has been done to really flesh them out as a people beyond "strong and aggressive warriors" outside a few of the stories.

Don't get me wrong. Your ideas are good, just not in the direction I'm intending for this suggestion.

I think I agree more with Amroq. I see it more like:

- Location
- Fauna
- Flora
- Race
- Artifact


And such. Characters sounds more like NPCs, and should be placed on the character thread in the story board.

Well, Sean, it was your thread that inspired me to this suggestion in the first place.

Even with that setup, the Race category would quickly become jumbled without some organization of the ten main established types.

Location as well would benefit from sub-sections, perhaps with flora and fauna as threads within the main regional categories.

We need more major races. And no, I don't mean more sub-species of said major races, I mean brand new original major races.

EDIT: You also forgot Sphinxes and Dryads as major races.

Given the size of the world, don't you think we'd have more races that has a major presence around Felarya?

Most of the new races that gets added are minor races. And the sad thing is that most of these minor races could be good major races.
