| This isn't a suggestion, it's a question. (There's no category for questions, of this sort since they aren't, to my knowledge, asked much.) When is a thread considered dead? When it hasn't been posted in for a month, 2 months? 3? I am just wondering. It tends to vary between forums. Also, if there is a old/dead thread and some one wants to discuss that topic should a new thread make a new one or revive the old? I've been wondering about this for a while and I couldn't find it posted anywhere else, so I'm making this thread. _________________

| I'll try to answer this based on my own experience as a mod and admin of other forums, so take this with a grain of salt. If a previous topic exists, old or not, that is on the topic you wish to discuss, then by all means, revive the old thread. It prevents repeat threads and forum clutter, and everything on the topic that has previously been discussed is in the same thread, thus easier to find. (And as a side benefit, it doesn't take up server memory/) _________________ In the end, there can be only one....

| I agree with Darkstrom Zero; a thread isn't every truly dead until it's locked or deleted. Best to have all the information in one thread I say. |

| I agree with Darkstorm Zero and Oldman40k2003! It truly is pointless to do all new thread on the same subject. |

| I know really. "necro posting"? what? how is that a bad thing? if the topic is up, and you have something to say, say it. its a forum, not a news channel. |

| a thread is dead when somebody says something totally unanswerable then nobody knows what to say and BAM you just wasted a whole thread by saying one thing. |

| GAH! I LOVE ZOMBIES! How's that?! I consider a topic "Dead" when a moderator locks it out. If it's not, I would consider it fair game. |

| Touche! No, I'm not. That comment was meant to fall into the realm of "Totally incapable of response" Zombies are fun, though. Just watch your head. |

| Yes, it can. And there wouldn't be any repercussions since Felarya cancels any disease. Hence why we don't see many undead things around. |

| A thread is dead when I post in it of course...... But honestly a thread is never dead unless too much of the content discussed is completely irrelevant/obsolete. However, pointless bumping of old threads makes my skin crawl....or does it do that all the time anyway.... _________________ I'm simply letting others feel the pain of my own existence.
