Let's redux this stuff.

We'll try to not delve into another edit war spawned from haet about the topic ITT. I'll tell you how we can do that.

Firstly let's backtrack and go at this topic in a sensible manner. For now, let's all agree to leave the TVtropes article on Felarya completely blank for the time being. Having anything up there is only going to be a distraction to discussion.

Proposed entries can be posted here, and we can discuss them. This thread will serve to hammer out assigning and descriptions of tropes found in Felarya.

If the TVtropes article containing a finished product of this thread, is deemed to be offensive, damaging or whatever, judgment can be cast upon it and it shall be smitten.

So let's talk about the things that point out parallels with other things from other things, otherwise known as 'tropes' for the sake that it probably can't harm you, like that spider near your toes.

This is what was needed from the start. Unfortunately, I can not contribute at the moment. The Flash wiki is eating my time like crisis eating nekos.

Okay, I guess let's start with Cute Monster Girls, as it applies to just about every major character. Any arguments against it?

Well, without specifying any particular characters, the tropes that come to mind for Felarya itself would probably include:

- Animesque: Goes without saying

- I'm a Humanitarian

- The Hunger: Humans turned into predators have this.

- Cute MonsterGirls:

- Cat girls:

- Attack of the fifty foot whatever: Ditto.

- Your mileage may vary: Let's face it.

- Reptiles are abhorrent: an aversion seems noteworthy.

- Big Creepy Crawlies: Tonorions, dridders, boom bees....

- Author Appeal/Fetish Fuel: Do I need to say anything?

- Always a bigger fish: Often ignored, but one of the defining traits of Felarya.

- Humans are bastards: Goes against everything Felarya is meant to be, but has a habit of being invoked every single goddamn chance it gets.

- Crossover: Half the characters are from other worlds/unpublished franchises.

- Our monsters are different.

- Crystal Dragon Jesus: The Felaryan goddesses.

- Kick the Dog/Pet the Dog: Prettymuch every other action between every character is either or...

- Bare your midriff: I defy you to name ONE clothed female characterwhoisn'tLea who doesn't display this!



Regarding characters, I think to avoid confusion/overload, we should cite only characters in the wiki.


That said....


- Friendly Neighborhood Giantess: Jade/Fiona

- Raised by humans(wolves): Fiona, Scala, Rin....

- Was once a man: several characters I can't be bothered to name.

- Action girl: Every other character

- BFS: Verdant Fury

- Crazy Awesome: Terror and Ryla, mainly.

- The goggles do nothing: Averted: Anna's first appearance had her wearing them.

- Back from the dead/whatever the trope is involving an author cave in: Anna

I haven't had the time to check yet what these famous tropes are exactly but it looks intriguing ^^

I saw the previous thread only after it was locked. I'm warning a certain set of people though, I'm no longer in the good mood I was when I came back from China. My patience is wearing seriously thin on a certain number of points.
So I advise some people to keep a low profile and above all to keep the tone of the discussion CIVIL.

I've read alot of the tropes, and I think Gregole nailed a good portion of the ones that apply to Felarya. I'll be on Tv Tropes to see if there's any other tropes to consider.

Tv Tropes... I have yet to recover all the hours lost in that site, though I wouldn't say I've lost or wasted my time there. xD

But a Tv Tropes Felarya article? Hmm... I have some serious doubts about it. I don't know how people would react about such thing being there, and we should be careful with the tropes included...
