This idea came out of
NOWHERE.One day, I was doodling in class, and for some reason, drew a half chicken/half human creature. The inspiration hit me like a metal nuke to a giant magnet:Why not make a chicken harpy?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Name:Fowl Harpy
Height:Regular(50 ft.) and roosters(80 ft.)chicks(10 ft.)
Wingspan:Regular(30 ft.) and rooster(40 ft.)
Diet: Omnivorous, though mostly meat.
Colors:(Body) Brown, red, black, white, tan, green, and yellow.(Hair)Almost always red.
Description: Fowl Harpies are what you would expect them to be:half-chicken creatures. It's been known that adventurers have always thought of the species as dumb, and that they do not realise how smart they really are.
The most noticable trait is their red hair, which is shaped like a spikey crest on top, and hair on the side of the crest falls down to the shoulders, making them look even more like their fully-avian counterparts.A rooster's crest hair is much taller then the regular crest.A Fowl Harpy has very small and weak wings, but they aren't useless. They can be used to glide short distances, which is especially helpful in chasing running prey or escaping danger.Their legs are orange and agile, allowing them to run with ease, and pull off some fancy kicks if needed.Their clawed feet are well suited for the job, and can slice through unprotected flesh with ease. One strange ability of the Fowl Harpy is a sickness it can pass on if it is eaten. While the Harpy may not be saved, the sickness can cause serious illness or even death in some creatures that eat it.As such, they're left alone by other creatures.Chicks, however, do not have the sickness yet, and are vunerable to predators.
The species live in large groups, lead by a few "rooster" leaders. Roosters can be either male or female, though female is mostly chosen.New roosters are chosen via combat against each other, and all battles usually end up bloody, with the winner becoming a rooster.Adult Fowl Harpies tend to have very serious personalities, while chicks have a very curious personality. Like other harpies, they use fowl language as their main tongue, though its not uncommon to see a conversation involving no foul words or threats.Chicks are protected by all the members of the group, and they will fiercely guard them from dangerous threats.Their preferred homes are in grassy or forested areas, though deserts will do fine. They prefer humans and nekos as prey, and will chase them for hours just to get a small snack. They'll also eat fairies, if they can catch them.As mentioned, they are smart creatures, being able to make complex plans to use in hunting. It seems that no adventurer has escaped their stomachs yet.
Seems like it...
