PostSubject: Hecatonchires: A Dying Breed!   Fri Oct 30, 2009 12:19 am

In the Titanomachy depicted in greek mythology, the Gods of Oylmpus conquered the Titans with aid from the cyclopses and...

...Hecatonchires?

What are they?

They were giants with 50 heads and 100 arms each!

Wow! That is very different.

I thought that these guys were an interesting kind to suggest.

They could be a dying species (since there were only three of them in the original mythology), and with 100 arms and 50 heads, things you'd think would be an advantage, would probably cause some degree of clumsiness, and with that many parts, they would be slow moving.

Just a suggestion.

Heres some images I drew last night to give an idea of what they might look like.

They are concept sketches to demonstrate how they might function.

Not very pretty! Shocked

Below shows six legs to support such a massive upper body, and where the torso would be sectioned for the arms and heads:

What do you guys think?

Looks like something you might find in a terror-themed section of Felarya.

True. When I thought about these guys, I definently knew that they wouldn't be very pretty.

I think it could be interesting to see them as either a villainous character, or a tragic mutation.

I think a backstory where they are a rare creatures is interesting, and also to have them to be rather limited in there movements makes alot of sense, so they wouldn't attack using agrressive means, but rather defensive.
