| I notice a little grammar mistake here "some exploerers who know of this bring flashlights or know magical spells to ward off the more carnivoarious species." It's a good an interesting idea but I think you should develop some type faunas or floras to emphasize the particularity of the ecosystem of the place.

I did have to type this fast, while sitting on the stairway lol and I'm planning on it! ^^ and working on it as we speak.

| Interesting fauna the tentacle orb, I think you should say it's a jellyfish-like creature at the beginning and search a new name. The word "tentacle" makes me think to some animes in particular

| if you say it prey human size creature there is no reason to precise human just after  its hunting skill is classic but I don't complain too much about it.
