Pelogis; There are smaller islands. What would you use to kill it? They are too big for you to kill with anything you could carry by yourself. Except a suitcase nuke. Which would kill you too.
Why is it that if it's not a pred, then everyone assumes that it's prey? _________________

| I'd use magic! Electric magic, probably... And they aren't "prey" because they are not predators, they're prey because you could feed a family of 50 for weeks with it. And sell the other parts. |

You could feed Negav if Pelogi were edible to humans. |

| You mean they're... poisonous? 'Cause besides that, they're man- bait. Human's gotta be able to catch and eat something.Ever heard of the Steller's Seacow? http://www.petermaas.nl/extinct/speciesinfo/stellersseacow.htm Huge, but not a whale, but we hunted the poor thing to exctinction. And these are normal humans, not mages with awesome spells. We're doing the same to the Blue whale, or we were. Large sea critter = gooooooood meat. Of course, given the size, hunting Pelogis would be darn difficult, but rewarding as anything... But really, if they are too gentle, we might be a huge threat... |

Not possible. They are just too big. There's nothing in the human arsenal short of baby nukes and tactical missiles that could harm them. (Even then you'd need a fair few tactical missiles). |

It's what, 300 feet long? 500 ft? One level 8 lightning spell. They're atuned to the water enough that that would kill for sure, or at least wound. One would think. But nothing is impossible for a truly great mage. |

To put it into perspective. Pelogi are possibly even bigger then leviathan mermaids. You would need a kraken cecalia on your side to even stand a CHANCE against them.
Not true humans have nothing else to catch and eat in the sea, it's just no one has ever bothered to make a species for it.
Steller's Seacow and the Blue Whale are still nothing close to the size of a Pelogi.
And about lightening spells, you would need a BIG lightening bolt to harm one of these guys. You do recall they have a thick hide, right?
PS. Imagine making an entire pod of them angry. |

| Ah, yes... the "pod" thing would be a huge problem. Maybe pick off a young straggler? Oh, and it's not just the meat, you'd truly be a lgendary fisherman to kill one... But I was wrong, it might be a bad idea to try... |

Very bad idea; better off trying to hunt flying whales. They're probably smaller. |
