are there any plants that are more dangerous AFTER they've been killed? maybe a plant that spreads a lot, and looks like a field, but when destroyed releases something powerful making it stronger after death?
You could try making some sort of Hydra Plant (not Hydra as in one of these, the mythological one) that whenever it's stem is broken, cut, etc., it grows into two more.

Fireflowers

A brilliant red giant flower long-stemmed with 9 petals and a yellow/white center that seems to gleam brightly in the sun. During the night, the flowers are indistinguishable from other average giant flowers, it is only in the direct light of the sun that their true nature is revealed. The flowers themselves are not harmful, but are a common and beautiful sight in Felarya, growing in the small spots where the sunlight breaks through the trees. A rare field of fireflowers can be too dazzling to look upon directly. There are several predators that use the fireflowers as a hiding place to jump out as dazed prey, and conversely, many prey have escaped their pursuers by running into a field of fireflowers, the pred's increased height working against them as they lose sight of their quarry in the shining mass of plants.

Fireflowers are not worth too much to humans, nekos, or elves, but giant nagas and dryads and some other giant predators greatly enjoy wearing the giant flowers in their hair or collecting the flowers to use as decoration for their favorite sleeping spot.

Hydralac (or hydrilac, not sure which is better)

It looks like a single green flower that almost blends in with the dark extra-rich grass that is spread out flowery circle. Beneath the ground the plant is attached by a single root that travels deep beneath the ground, feeding on the pure energy of the soil beneath felarya's ground. or if in the water it looks like a thick vine connecting to a small grassy lily pad, if it's big enough it can fake itself to look like a patch of land. It reproduces with a simple pollen effect.

The root travels incredibly far down, ranging from 20 ft underground from the smaller clusters, up to 300 ft deep in the larger clusters.

Since their roots have been feeding off the magic deep in the soil for so long they have acquired odd abilites. The first, in which up on death, by being smashed or cut they will multiply into two flowers that spread out over the top of the "circle of grass" completely alive again (which acts like zerg "blight" if you've ever played starcraft). The plants also excrete a paralyzing aroma, that makes you more attuned to senses around you, but makes you immobile. If you are lucky enough to fall on the center of the Hydrilac Cluster, the root underneath will open up and suck you down below, adding your digested nutrients to the length and thickness of the vine so it can increase the size and potency of of the Cluster.

The weakensses: There is only one root, and it's vulnerable to magic, so you can destroy it with a simple fire spell. (although since the root is so deep it will eventually grow back over an extended period of time, unless you destroy the entire root). if in the water, the root is much more exposed and therefore easier to kill. but in water the plant usually catches creatures other than humans.

Also the aroma is only powerful to a certain extent, while it does make you incredibly sluggish, you aren't actually completely paralyzed.

Okay, im reposting the plant i did early, though its changed and was spruced up. ^^;

This was worked on by both me (original idea and concpet), and kaithguy1234 (edited/reworked), so yeah, we both created this "little" plant. Feedback will be most appreciated.hope you like the new and improved version of this plant

Valnic Flower Pod (Referred to as the Siren vine by travelers)

Size: 7 to 26 feet tall. (Though the maximum size is a rarity)

Threat: Moderate to medium

The rare Valnic Flower Pod, named for it’s creator “Isaac Valnic” resembles a bright red circular pod with blue line-like markings running down its body, but when dusk comes it opens up it’s somewhat maw like end to reveal a small vine with a beautiful dark blue flower rising from the tip. The inside of the pod itself resembles the outside of it, save for some darker hues of red. The color of the vines are normally the same as the inside of the pod.

The pods usually grows on very tall trees and dryads near their roots, usually "sleeping" for most of the day until it opens up to feed at night. It feeds by emitting a strange sound that people have reported resembles a young woman crying. This sound is used to lure predators or travelers to the location, only to see the odd flower hanging out of the pod.

If the sound does work, and the prey actually comes within striking range, then several smaller vines adorned with thorns will extend from the inner body of the pod, and pull them down into its body with great force, where it will begin to digest them.

A rarer strain of the plant has recently begun to spring up, using a completely different way of feeding on prey. This strain’s vines pierce the preys body injecting them with a venom that a few people have compared to dridder venom. Upon injecting the victim, the vines hold the prey in place until the venom takes effect. At that point, the vines work almost like a mouth, sucking up the liquidated insides. It has appropriately been dubbed “Spider weed”. Some brave explorers have even tried harvesting the venom from the plant to use against predators. It should be noted that this is an extremely dangerous tactic, and should only be done by very careful, or knowledgeable botanists.

Usually, every two to three weeks, the plant will try to spread its seeds in one of two ways. Method number one is to drop very light seeds that can easily be carried by the wind, carrying them to other trees. Not many actually reach large enough trees, so only a few from each batch, if any, live and grow.

The second method is a bit more gruesome. Should it be full from a previous meal, and prey should be passing by, it can inject the creature, human, or predator with its seeds via vines. Over the course of the next two or three days, the body will start to break down. Eventually, the body of the host will die, and the seeds will break from the body, attaching themselves to nearby trees. If caught early on, the seeds can still be removed from the victim, saving their lives. The earliest symptoms have been reported as one or two small flowers sprouting out of the victims body.

The plant's vines itself are very sensitive to direct sunlight, hence why it stays in its protective pod until the dark hours.

the pod varies in size, ranging from human size to that of a large house. Larger pods are much rarer then the small variety due to being ripped apart by powerful large predators. The outside of the pod is very thick and difficult to pierce by conventional means. The inside is soft and somewhat meaty though, hence why it’s advised for travelers in areas with these plants to carry knives or swords with them to help escape should they become ensnared. Should the vine and flower be removed, the plant will die. This fact has brought several people to the conclusion that the flower may be like the plants brain or heart.

Dryads don’t seem to mind the plant, often waiting still until the plant grab a tight hold of some wandering traveler, and then grabbing them for a quick snack.
