I just wanted to wish everybody a Happy Godzilla Day!

Sure, it not an official holiday, but today is the 55th Anniversery of the release of the first Godzilla movie in Japanese theaters.

I am sure many of you are now saying to yourselves "What the hell is this guy doing?", so I'll explain:

Yes, I am a very avid fan, but a point should be made here, and that is that Godzilla is one of the forerunners of Japanese pop culture like the films of Akira Kurosawa, and the creator of AstroBoy and other old school anime.

The Godzilla franchise is still going strong even after such a long time, and has inspired many of Japan's and even Hollywoods most brilliant minds.

It is safe to say, many of the best film makers, video game developers, and manga/anime artistians wouldn't be doing what they do now if it wasn't for Godzilla.
