Ladimus Ehrinejahr, felaryan etologist famous in the city of Nergav for the discovery of Razias, comes back with another great finding from the underground in great rocky fields, Orelosk plateau.
This horrible creature, like his previous discover, it's medium-small sized and acts as a parasite attached on tunneler worms.
They have been called: SandSlugs
Appearance: the sandslugs are maybe one of the most ugly species around Felarya, partially covered with huge brown scales, from the face to the back. They have a strange shaped mouth, for the jaws inside close horizontally and the lower part of their face has some tentacular appendixes, ending in a blade-shaped bone, used as a syringe to drain the victims (usually, the tunneler worms) from their liquids.
SandSlugs are armless, and in the shoulder spots, highly nerved, grows a sideview eye, like the ones in the face, with cross-shaped pupils. From their back, instead of arms, grow two articulated bone blade fangs, used for grasping on the worms, or for digging.
from their lower back, and for a good amount of their tender tail, grow many eggs that faintly glow, granting them the sight even it the deepest realms of earth. The eggs are automatically expelled from the body when fully grown, and remain attached on the tunneler worms skin with a glue-like secretion.
SandSlugs are not smart at all. In fact, they're kinda dumb even for normal animal species. They're not naturally aggressive, they just attack in order to obtain food or preys. Curious thing is, they usually don't fight back if harmed.
SandSlug grownups pass most of their life using the tunneler worms as a transport, attached to them with their bone fangs and parasite them draining the victim from vital fluids.
There are even some of these abominations crawling in the caves alone. Not parasiting, they act as below average hunters. These are usually the ones born from the eggs that fell from the worms.
It's rare, but some of them dig a way up to the surface and hunt outside, searching for little preys, but more oftenly, THEY become the prey, expecially for rock harpies, that kinda enjoy torturing such idiotic beings.
If they manage to capture, let's say, a human being, they pin it down with the bone blade fangs and spear it with the face appendixes draining every liquid, mummifying and shrinking the prey, so they can eat the remains.
