Through magic, selective breeding, or nutrient deprivation, they are rarely capable of growing taller than an average human, though some mutant breeds are able to reach the twenty foot mark

The Dryads are rather small, yet it seems to describe them eating humans...

Quote :
There is at least one instance of an arrogant noble being eaten by his pet dryad, and several other mysterious disappearances within expansive gardens can be linked to such a fate.

Quote :
...some nobles may "look the other way" if a gardener or three go missing every now and then...

Do they samesize, or is it an oversight? o__o

Hmmm, I've always thought that it would be the (somewhat) bigger ones that could possibly do the eating. I'm also a big fan of their height being based on how much nutrition they've gotten.

Yeah, I certainly wouldn't put it past a dryad that's around 20 feet to be able to eat something human-sized.

Or even a 20 foot naga. You don't have to be 60ft tall to vore a human.

Indeed. But I mean non-samesize but your points stands anyway.

I need to necro this thread because, due to recent resizing, the inconsistency with Domestic Dryads has become all the more glaring. First of all, I am aware that Dryads have stretchy throats. However, I always assume that they could swallow anything so long as it fits inside their mouth. Second, there is no mention that Domestic Dryads have stretchy mouth. At 20 ft in height, the human is still far too large unless they can eat large preys like a naga does. So them eatinh gardeners no longer make much sense, unless we think of more gruesome alternatives, such as draining them completely dry of nutrients, similar to how Lily does.

Well yes with the general resizing that could be more like 30 feet. At this size I think it would be hard to fit but nonetheless doable what do you think ?

At 30 ft, the human would be probably 1/5 the size. I think the human would have to be put into a ball and stuffed into the dryad's mouth, but if their throats can stretch then it shouldn't be much of a problem. I'm wondering if the prey couldn't be dragged underground and sucked up through some kind of mouth under the ground. I don't know how plausible that is though, it's late for me X3

I think 40 ft would be better, just to be on the safe side.
