Wasp Duckie

Wasp Duckie Beeline3
A toy based on a duckling of this species
(Thank Beeline for creating and let this image stuck into my mind, and my Dad's duck pet (had become a dish after trying to attack his fish's pond))

Size:
-Male: 20-22 inches
-Female: 15-17 inches

Danger level: Very Low, or Medium (if you don't know how to handle them)

Description:

Similar to wild ducks, a flock of these huge black-with-yellow-stripped waterbirds often are seen living and moving between ponds in Felarya. Watching these wild ducks swimming lazily around in a pond is quite relaxing scene.

The male Wasp Duckie can become very fierce when it come to protect their flock. Any attempt to harm the flock will be countered with many Wasp Drakes chasing and pecking fiercely the culprit. There is often no escape from them as they can fly and dive underwater. And wounds cause by their peck is very painful, even to giant predators, as if they're a swarm of furious and fearless wasps with poisonous stings, only more persistent. However, they will stop chase the victim if he doesn't move (any more), so the “Faking Death” that is used with bears can be apply on these mad ducks as a "getaway" trick.

In the contrast, female Wasp Duckie is more passive, and only counters the attack when there is no nearby Wasp Drake do the protecting job. And its peck attack are also weaker compare to the male counterpart. Their way of mating is also pretty unique for a duckie, as, the mating time is the time Wasp Drakes in the flock attack someone then return, and they will choose the strongest as their lovers. A researcher claims that the more wounds a Wasp Drake gets, the more chance they get a loyal-to-death mate.

Aside from a diet based on fish and small water creatures, like what their names imply, they love sweet thing with a passion, and are even willing to let other people touch them if feeding them with sweet stuffs, as long as these outsiders don't harm the flock. They are also famous for loving music, as they will wag their tails, dive and surface, fly up and land down in harmony whenever hearing a beautiful song. It is a sight that people don't want to miss when enjoying the the beauty of a Felarya full of dangers.

Note: There is a rumor that if you feed them enough with sweet stuff, they will consider you as a part of their flock, and will protect you from any harm as long as you stay near of them.

Ah, angry ducks that love sweets, then? Sounds good.
