Hey all. This is an attempt to make a slightly different sort of RP for the RP section... I haven't been here in awhile and I feel it needs a kick or two.

Anyways, the concept of this RP is simply a group of people going out to perform some mission somewhere. Play will start in Negav and you will have to purchase supplies, weapons, etc. etc.

I will be GMing the game - i.e. I will be running the story, presenting obstacles and plot points.

I am busy for about a week or so more, but I am making this thread now so that people can express interest and make characters. Everyone interested can post one typical character bio (Naturally for this giant predator species are not allowed, but anyone you could find in Negav is permitted.) You can have one character. If you really want you can make secondary "minion" characters but I will warn you they will most likely end up as naga food. XP

I reserve the right to refuse your character if OP or dumb. Any further questions may be asked here. In a week or so I'll see what the interest is.

So - who's brave enough? Evil laugh

(Heck I'll give it a shoot. This a character I've been mulling around with a bit. For the most part done now.)

Name: Bade Barr a.k.a The unresting merchant
Age:45 (Physical appearance)
Gender:Male
Species:Ghost (human)
Height:6'8"
Hair color: Black streaked with gray. Short length.
Eye color: Blue

General description:
He appears as a sunburnt-looking middle aged man who's wearing a leather jerkin over a old camouflague outfit, wearing a pair of leather boots. He appears transparent. He has no visible weapon on him.

Personality:Bade's very laidback for the most part. He's very undiscriminating as he doesn't hold anything against the predators or the people of Negav and other settlements. He just wants to live his life or unlife by his own means. He can be very kind to unfortunate people and doesn't mind helping them, he doesn't care whether he loses personal profits but holds a client's request, if reasonable, in the highest regard and priority. He's very open-minded, determined, and a bit eccentric.

History:
He was born offworld into a family of merchants and traders. He grew into his trade and traveled all over different places until he started to reach his middle age. Having heard of Felarya and it's legendary anti-aging properties and it's dangers, he set out to ply his trade all over Felarya to try and cheat death. Subsequently, he wrote a will up, should he die in Felarya. His family is now richer than ever now as he had been crushed over by a juvenile giant naga who was being chased by a much larger and very pissed naga.

His spirit is still been going about as he ever did; buying and selling. Raising money to the adventurer's guild, all while knowing full well of his "condition". His living assistant is the one that makes the deals with humans. Bade himself tries to make sells/deals with predators now as due to his new status. A few predators mention they have made deals with the somewhat infamous ghost trader or by his nickname "the unresting merchant". He now focuses on the Fairy Kingdom and Negav as his primary trading routes. He sells items for prey and occasionally pred.

Equipment:His caravans are manned by a few men and stocked supplies with the sometime exception of ammo. He personally prefers flashbangs and a sort of slime-based glue bomb/mine for his personal use(via telekinesis) against predators. Bade has put multiple low to mid-level charms and protection related enchantments onto the caravans to protect against most supernatural and mortal threats. Supposedly there are hidden compartments in some of the caravans but these are rumors...

Powers/talents
His supernatural abilities as a low rank ghost vary from invisibility, turning to mist, generating lights and noise, limited telekinesis, and some illusion magic. However, his use of these powers isn't effective and often leads to him draining his spiritual reserves more often than not from a basic ability, which leads to him having to creatively deal with a problem in a combat situation as a support. Due to the fact that he's a "fledgling" ghost in terms of his abilities, he is very wary of overusing his supernatural powers.

He seems have a sizable amount of innate energy within himself that he can somewhat tap into, he only uses this emergency reserve of power to keep himself together after being disrupted or after using his abilities once he reaches exhaustion. Which he then slowly takes energy from the reserve. He seems to be able to very slowly convert the ambient magic of Felarya into this raw energy. The reserve is a manifestation of his willpower, the more he gives up during a situation the more this reserve of power reduces.

He is a savvy spokesman and business man. His mastery over various languages and different customs of Felarya's inhabitants helps make his job easier than it would be. He can negotiate rather effectively and is able to stay calm and level-headed in most situations. He also is generally well read and experienced in many different topics and places of Felarya.

Note: weaknesses
As a low level ghost most focused magic can disrupt Bade's spiritual form reverting him into a sort of cloud of spirit energy. A magical dime a dozen sword from Negav can do sizable damage to him. He can reform based on how much energy he has and based on the severity of the disruption but doesn't mean he can reform instantly. He also lacks strong offensive abilities and tends to rely on other to stop a threat.

He can be "eaten" by angels, demons, elementals, and other ghosts. He can be bound to a magician's will or be absorbed by energy draining machines and relics. Large dimensional portals like the one in Negav and Ur-sagol may affect on him. He hasn't figured out how to directly interact with physical matter(He uses telekinesis to manipulate objects).

William "Lovey" Hershey

Age: 12

Hair: Black

Eyes: Blueish grey

Bio: Much of little Willy's life was spent on a planet much like earth. When he was born, his mother quickly discovered that raising both him and the daughter she already had was too much for her to afford. Unable to feed both, she placed little Willium in a children's home. As the years went by, he was somewhat neglected by his caretakers; when he was 6, he left the shelter. recieving little or no love from those already around him, he became fascinated by the very concept, and went to search for its meaning, and learn about it.

So little William Hershey set out in the cruel world at a young age, and began to study people, and people in love. He found it very hard, and many times he nearly died of starvation or exposier, but as time went on, he learned to survive urban life. He made many friends with his natural charm and wit, and gained a bit of an understanding of Karma.

Gaining himself alllies from the girl scouts to the mafia by a very young age, he was asked by a "shady" organization to test some strange technology they found for them. Turns out, it was a transporter; Thus, William, now nicknamed, "Lovey", due to the nature of his study and his passion, began travesing other worlds.

He saw many things and became strong, and eventually found his way home after visiting several planets and making many friends. When he returned, he found out that, his mother had applied to re-adopt him. While he welcomed the love of his mother, after the process was through, he left once more. As he said, "The road is my home." At least, he promised to return this time...

By this time, he was a tender 12 years old. Not long after, his transporter made a fatal error, and transported him to Felarya, then promtly blew out altogether. Thus, the tiny adventurer and self-proclaimed "love guru in training", began in Negav to try to make his way home again.

Personality and style: He has every appearence of being a happy boy, but actually, he is quite cunning. He knows many tricks to survive, and has had to. He seems to be all for togetherness, and is very good at analysing relationships between people. He is also good at making friends, but then again, he also has skill in making enemies...

He typically wears a black hooded sweater, with a big red heart symbol in the front. He wears baggy black sweatpants, and a black headband with a red heart symbol, too.

Equipment: He travels REALLY light. All he has is some food and a change of clothes.

He knows some forms of martial arts, though. He is at least a green belt in Akido.

Oh, I forgot. To balance him out. He reacts badly to magic, getting hit by a burst of magic hurts him and disrupts him. He could be eaten by angels, ghosts, succubi, and elementals. He could get "absorbed" or bound to a mage or shaman. A barely magical dime a dozen blade could inflict damage on him. He also, would be pretty limited by daytime and electronic-based lights and magic using machinery. There's a good bit that could hurt him. Any naga with strong magic could disrupt him. He isn't all power he's a ghost of a merchant for the love of. Laughing He isn't a offensive sort and isn't a strong ghost per say in terms of strength. Willpower yes but spiritual strength no. Hope this helps.

After he was brought back to America, he was soon chosen by the government to go to Felarya to help defend some treasure hunters from any dangers. He wasn't alone with this task, his friend James Ramirez and Paul Jackson came with him.
Personality: Dan is very smart and clever. He can be a very good leader, fighter, and diplomat. During the five years on duty, he has developed a good knowledge of survival and combat. Every now and then he likes to just randomly fire his weapons at imaginary targets to help give him the edge he needs for an actual fight.
Equipment: C4's, Rifle Suppressor, Claymores, Flash Bangs, and Frag Grenades.

(I want to see how long my main character and the other two can survive. I will let you guys kill only two of them.)

This seems decent. Note that too many secondary characters can be tough to manage so its likely they may be... disposed of.... to simplify things.

I'm curious as to why and how America has a portal to Felarya and why they want to protect treasure hunters. It would seem likely he would do this job on his own accord.

(I don't really know. I don't know too much about this universe. I'll just say that the treasure hunters are working for the government or something and they have to escort them safety to finish their mission.)

Skills: A very good shot with a gun and has taken extensive training in swordsmanship, however since he spends most of his time in Felarya his most prominent trait is that to be very quite and being able to run very very fast. Has a minor skill with magic but it hasn't developed much s he can't use any more than simple illusion magic and a minor ability to conduct electrical currents.

Personality: Anti social at first, but once you get in the circle of people he trusts he would lay down his life for you with out a second thought. Has a good sense of humor but only when you can get him talking.


Background: He comes from a world slightly ahead of earth in technology but it has been at war for centuries and was the perfect place for mercenaries like him he quickly gained experience and earned himself a name as the best mercenary out there be it sniping, dog fighting, stealth or blowing off a chunk of the planet. He found his way to Felarya when he was coming back from a job he had just completed and was too busy counting his money to bother noticing the giant portal that just opened in the ground in front of him. After many memorable encounters, which i'll talk more on later (as in when i finish writing them up lol! ) he made his way to Negav.

Equipment: Scoped Pulse Rifle w/ Supressor, Modified Flare charges (to blind and or distract Predators), Full Body armored suit which increases his strength and speed by a factor of 2, Dual Laser Pistols and a few sets of communication devices for when he goes out on missions with multiple people and a Camo Cloak to possibly hide himself in plain site if he has no other options (I know this won't work if the predator has any sort of grasp over there "predator sense" but hey good to have a plan Z). (I had considered bringing a team with him but I saw it as both too risky and too noisy.)

Siri is a native born human who has lived her life in Negav since she was a little girl. She was born into a family of blacksmithers as an only daughter among several brothers. To avoid being picked on and bullied by them, she learned martial arts and a strong attitude.

One of her only friends however, is a Soldier/Guard in Negav named Kaian. They met when he "rescued" her from bullies when they were about 10 years old.

She never goes outside the walls unless she really needs too.

Skills: Martial Arts, Proficient use with many weapons (spending time practicing with the ones she makes), Blacksmithing, Kicking guys' asses.

Weapon of Choice: Hammer

Personality: She is a very open person by nature, but her attitude is a tad harsh due to the nature of her upbringing. As long as someone doesn't discriminate against her for being female, she (probably) wont get angry. She has a soft spot for people who know how to use exotic weapons.

I typed this up on the spot, as I never made a bio for her. This is actually the first time I'm using her for anything as well. It's hard to say whether I made her, or Bael first to be honest.

Species: Eurlian (Offwrolder)

Sex: Female

Hair: Black and done up in a bun

Body: Moderately built, highly athletic and has a light tan complexion. Her body is also criss crossed with scars from past arena fights.

Outfit: Evellic wears a slightly worn martial arts gee with hiking shoes.

Occupation: Arena fighter, adventurer and Kales partner.

Weapons: Evellic wields a long samurai like blade and twin daggers. She also makes use of a modernized longbow for ranged attacks.

Personality: Calm, focused, adventurous, pragmatic and quiet. Evellic is often the one who does the talking when money is concerned and her years in the arena in front of thousands has given her excellent speaking ability. Also, unlike Kale she often tries to advise her employers of the dangers they are facing to give them at least some chance of survival.

She's about as nice as one can be when they belong to a race of people who are genetically born without the ability to tell right from wrong.

Abilities
- Cruelly keen instincts. Able to tell when being watched, sense impending danger and tell when something if 'off' about a person.

History: Evellic was a popular arena fighter who was looking to take a break from her career and try something new. So when Kale showed up with his mission to a mysterious planet she happily joined him. She soon found herself going on wild adventures with fortune seekers in hope of finding some mysterious treasure. But they always end with the treasure hunters being eaten alive and the two of them not getting paid.

Nathan Slate

Age: 35

Species: Human/Cyborg

Gender: Male

Weapons/Equipment:

Cybernetic Arms: Due to injuries in the field, Nathan has had his arms and much of his upper body replaced with mechanical substitutes. These arms house a few surprises as well as being roughly five times as strong as Nathan's original limbs.

Monomolecular Forearm Blade-A foot long monomolecular blade (ie a blade whose cutting edge is only one molecule thick) that is housed in Nathan's right forearm, and when in use extends out through a slot in his knuckles. It is extremely sharp and a quite durable, though it is hardly unbreakable, and must regularly be sharpened by a system conveniently located inside the housing for the blade. As much a tool as a weapon, it is often Nathan's last line of defense, as it is his only weapon that requires no power source.

Predator Taser- A powerful dart mounted in Nathan's left forearm that can be shot through a hole in his palm with extraordinary force. It has length of cable attached, that allows Nathan to pump much of his energy reserves into a opponent struck by the dart, frying anything remotely human sized, and painfully stunning or shocking larger beings. The dart itself is rather large, and is enough defeat most human sized threats on its own. The shock is dangerous to use, as it can quickly exhaust Nathan's energy supply, leaving him nearly helpless. The dart itself has several uses besides as a weapon, and the cable is thick and strong enough to use as a makeshift grappling hook for a quick escape.

Cybernetic Eye- One of Nathan's eyes has been replaced with a robotic implant, with a few basic settings, standard vision, telescopic, infared, and a setting that allows him to record and play back what he has seen.

Gastro Mechanical Backup: Sometimes when adventuring for long periods of time, Nathan's batteries start to where down, as such he has a bakcup system that allows him to translate food into mechanical power. The downside of this is that the power supplied to his mechanical parts in this case is greatly reduced, shutting off most auxilary systems such as the Predator Taser.

Multi Purpose Rifle-A highpowered rifle with several ammo types, including a normal slug, a shell full of shot, canisters of knockout gas, and the ability to shoot out a sticky foam like substance.

Backup Lungs- Canisters of oxygen stored internally in Nathan's body cavity, they store roughly thirty minutes worth of oxygen, allowing Nathan to go a long time without breathing.

Story: Not much Nathan arrived on Felarya seeking wealth and adventure and found both in abundance. Just as he was preparing to retire from adventuring, however, he was greviously wounded by a particularly clumsy predator, though he somehow managed to escape and survive long enough to make it back to Negav.

Nathan underwent an expensive process offered by a rogue scientist hiding out on Felarya from the authorities of his own world. Surprisingly, this scientist was successful in replacing Nathan's damaged body parts with mechanical substitutes making him much more formidable. However this process was exceedingly expensive, and cost Nathan almost all the loot and paychecks he had earned as an adventurer.

Since then Nathan has been much more careful as an adventurer, as he tries to rebuild his wealth base. Currently Nathan has almost enough money to purchase an old bar at the outskirts of Negav, and retire from adventuring to a life of relative safety. He just needs one more windfall...

Personality: Nathan has seen alot, but still has a ways to go from saying he's seen it all. While he was once something a thrill seeker, he has become much more reserved since his injuries, and prefers to scope a situation before acting, and to plan out said actions as much as possible. While not unwilling to take risks, Nathan prefers to leave as little to chance as possible.

Eight People is about what I can handle. I was aiming for seven so this works out good. I'm going to start soon with a general post, to let people introduce their characters at their own rates - but once the game leaves Negav, if you're ain't in yet, you ain't in yet.

I'm tempted to join in myself.

But I remember Jaette said that 'e don't like Mecha pilots, which means I'd have to invent a whole new character for this.... Embarassed

Well, nothing particular against 'em, though for this is would be a bit OP and... extravagant. Really I'm just worried that too many people will slow the game down, but I'm not sure if everyone who has made a character is actually playing yet, if at all....
