They do both. They also snatch prey off tree branches into their mouth. - Quote :
- Finally, I've always thought highly of avian eyes. I feel the eyes of Harpies should be capable of paralyzing the prey that gazes into them. Harpies seem to be at a disadvantage without arms
No, harpies have the advantage of being able to dive and snatch a whole lot of people before they even know what's hit them. Harpies aren't going to sit around looking at their prey. You're got to understand their hunting method.

| Ahhhh, yes. I see how they do have an advantage hunting.
But I'm still not so sure about them being flexible enough to lift something to their mouth or even bend over and grab someone with their teeth. They'd have to be extremely flexible.

| well it depends on muscle and spinal flexibility I think, not too sure whether a human/bird hybrid could do that, especially because the knee would get in the way. Still, the key thing is that harpy human halves just LOOK human. | |

| The wind cannon is kind of an interesting idea, but it seems a bit unnecissary.
A harpy's main advantages are speed and its talons. The talons on a hawk are huge, the talons of a harpy would be as long as knives. A harpy kick to the chest would puncture your lungs.
Their speed is the other big thing. A harpy is flying around at 300-400mph. If they go after something, it isn't going to be able to get away. Its like how a real predatory bird hunts, striking suddenly and at high speeds.

| Also, A harpy's wings are huge. Flapping them would cause huge gusts of wind, enough to blow any mid size being off their feet. | |

| That would be one dangerous bird Karbo. If Belletia could have done that Lea wouldn't have stood a chance. | |

| I think that would be interesting that some Harpies use intimidation to capture prey easier. However, I see this as kind of redundant since they're already massive enough. | |

| I agree with sean on that point when it comes to giant harpies. However not all harpies are giant, right? | |

| I've come to agree with most of the critiques here. Especially in regards to the intimidation idea. That was far from the best idea ^-^;
Edit: In hindsight, I wish this thread would go away. XP

| Solomon, what your currently doing is considered necroing. Your reviving threads such as this one that have been dead for some time without contributing anything to it. Please don't do this. | |
