PostSubject: Little Details   Wed Mar 19, 2008 4:57 am

Just a small little thing that was bugging me with the Rosic Nekos entry. When you say the community is 'south of the Jewel River,' That's really pretty vague. South of the Jewel River is a lot of area, and I'd assume that others would assume that it meant south of the river somewhere on the map as that's that's the 'default' area in Felarya. Actually, the tribe is a day's walk west of the coast of the Topazial Sea, and half a day's walk east from the swamps, as well as south of the river. So the tribe is pretty far away from the Great Tree and Crisis, and most everyone else (Although Anko has been known to swim up that way before). But never fear, anyone who might want to have a Rosic Neko show up in a story of theirs (This is called wishful thinking XD). The Rosic nekos are travel extensively, and many have frequented the area shown on the map.

But the main thing is I would like, is if the location was specified as 'South of the Jewel River and by the Topazial Sea' at least or 'South of the Jewel River, and between the eastern swamps and the Topazial Sea . And then, fourth paragraph second sentence, Rosic is misspelled as Rocis.

And just so this thread has a use now that that's out of the way, any one can feel free to point out any nitpicky details that may stand out to you in the wiki.

Thanks Karbo.
Somehow though, I don't forsee this thread getting much use.

Somehow I can't say I'm surprised you haven't heard of them, as the Rosic Nekos were added directly from my story, The Trial. I'll be posting it and my others in the Stories Discussion thread before too long.

Man, my Mist Fairy wasn't added yet, neither is the Regis Dridders. I always got that problem of always being the last one to be noticed, even at school I'm the last one to know about something.

I wouldn't worry too much, Sean.

You forget that Felarya is really big, and the Wiki has alot to cover. I'm sure the ideas will be added soon. I certainly liked them.

He's right. You have good ideas.
And sure I got an idea added straight from my story, and I'll admit I'm a bit proud of that. On the other hand, I'm less proud of the fact that my readers seem to consist entirely of Karbo. So you actually have a larger reader base than me! ^^ I just gotta keep working at it.

Honestly? Really? There was a rumor of a Rosic Neko? What? How? I didn't write that. Don't tell me someone's thinking of, and coming up with ideas for, my work? And then a Lit Ciggy reference too? Oh snap! A double reference in one rumor! That's so awesome! But the neko was playing the flute? I don't even have a flute playing neko. Well now I guess I need one. But he'll be so good, he could not only charm a tonorion, he could charm three hungry tonorions, six chilotaurs, two fairies, and Anna. All while smoking a cig. Now that's real talent.

But all freaking out aside, to business. 'Charms' should be 'charm', and the space after the question mark is bugging me a bit. Also, to make it a bit less inside joke-y, maybe 'the Lit Ciggy' should have 'the Lit Ciggy in Negav' just to be more specific. That's all my nitpicking for today. ^^

Playing flute *while* smoking... indeed that's real talent XD

Well I think they can be nice ideas but I prefer to see a bit how they will develop first ^^;
It's not against you or anything like that, I always do that. The Rosic nekos were actually more of an exception because I immediatly loved the idea and thought it was very original and fitting well in the universe Razz

I've got a bone to pick about the part of Crisis' entry that says she "can't unhinge her jaw". Snakes can't unhinge their jaws. The reason they can swallow prey that's larger than their head is because the two halves of the jaw are not connected to each other at the front, so rather than the jaw itself detaching, the front of the jaw splits apart and the two halves move away from each other, while the primary hinge is able to move sideways as well as the normal up and down motion. Under no circumstances can a snake literally "unhinge" its jaw.

Wikipedia says snakes don't dislocate their jaws, they disarticulate it.

I was going to have them in mine, but I ran into a little problem with that and ended up using the Scorching Claws Tribe. Mad

In the list of creatures on the Lake of Illusions page, Cecaelias still link to the Minor Races section.

I think Trejal should have a slightly lower "threat" on the Guardian page. As a Negotiator, he seems like he'd be a bit less dangerous to the average Felaryan than the nigh-insane Quaz, feral Notys, or the Omniscient Nemyra (who also might deserve to be bumped down a smidge).

Reason I bring this up is Mercreti is Moderate, but with magic capable of cracking worlds she'd be rated "Extreme" like all the other guardians unless behavior were taken into account (and from what I've read Trejal doesn't seem the type to pick a fight willy-nilly). Even just lowering him to critical (slightly more likely to pursue a peaceful resolution than his comrades) seems like it'd work better.
