I suggest we organize them into a list so we can better access the ones we need to fill in. I currently don't have the time to do it myself, but I will do it asap. Since Karbo wants things described, cleaned out, and fleshed out more I think this is a good way to start, or at least continue XD

ok here are some that I found:

Fauna Section:
Volasauras
Buvikis Veridimis

Creatures:
Alguanes (I thought a recent dryad post was going to be used for this...)
Fire, Lightning, Lava Elementals
Verdoya Tribe (tomthumbs)

Locations:
Ruins of Old Supprozad
Island of Tranquility
Island of Infinity
Shard, Myriad River (as well as a general description of the rivers XD)
Rosic Neko village
__________________________

thats it. also my name in the myriad river section says "Archmage bael" instead of "Archmage_Bael" but whatever. XD

edit: does anyone know where randomdude's story is, the one that has the ice wyrm in it? Also, some of the creatures (like the volasaurus) I have no idea what the original idealist wanted, because I cant find posts or topics of them.

I have a thread for this. Whether or not we're going with it I'm not sure, but I've been updating it to make it better.

yeah, I'm still going to expand the list (maybe) when I get to lore and such. XD After I compile a full list I'll try to help coming up with ideas myself.

Ok, I searched around for a post on "Archmantis" but didn't find anything. If this happens with others can we just create an idea for them? considering they're blank in the wiki anyway.

I'd like permission from a mod first or any of the other people here who's ideas are also left undescribed.

I don't see why you couldn't start working on them, assuming that you search first to make sure that they're actually a blank entry, and not just something that hasn't been transcribed just yet.

this is an idea i have for the archmanti. its kind of general i think, but it fits well with normal mantoids. I will brainstorm stuff while im doing housework today.... (yuck >_<)
__________
archmanti could range from 15-25 ft tall

They have an exoskeletal shell, and small sharp points near their joints. Archmanti can jump really high and really far, and are known to be quite agressive, and will try to eat anything that can fit in their mouth. They are usually alone, but have been seen in a pair on rare ocassions.

nice.

Snow Tigers: 20-30 ft
threat level: medium

These huge beasts have long smooth fur that seems to resemble snow. When the fur falls off at sheding, it turns into snow itself. They can also hide in plain sight just by crouching down because the furr all over their body makes them blend in perfectly to the snowy landscape. They also use this technique to stalk passing prey until they get too close. The only way to detect a snow tiger is that their fur emanates a slight hint of a minty smell, but the wind makes it hard to detect which direction the snow tiger is hiding.

Ice Kensha Beasts: 27-29ft avg
Threat: Medium

Kensha Beasts are one of the more dominant species of Felarya, and have spread all the way to the Imoreith Tundra. The beasts that live here have shining clear claws which are pretty valuable in makes of jewlery, since Ice Kensha Beasts are only found in the Tundra. They hunt similarly to their forest dwelling relatives. They are still plenty dangerous, but their fur isn't completely white, which allows a brief advanced warning on adventurers who aren't fatigued by their travels.

do you still have it? we could probably combine ideas, and revise it a little bit. Also Karbo tends to not add ideas if it sounds too general, so any input from him on what he wants would be helpful too.

I'm reduced to just completely creating new versions of the creatures because i cant find the topics and posts anywhere from the search tab.

Nope, can't find it anymore. The idea I remember most is that their poison is a numbing poison.

so how would the numbing poison be used? do they just have it naturally? or is anywhere on their body? like their fur for instance? Is my idea acceptible then?

In that case, it's a variant of an existing creature , so I don't believe we should go for something absolutely original ^^; just something that makes sense concerning the adpatation to the terrain/climate would do. your description is nice in that regard Smile

Weren't Snow Tigers, at one point in the past, described as an anthropomorphic cat race?

I can't honestly remember. They're just brainstorms, although I do encourage the original idea makers to step forward and claim them.

In relation to the "giant nematode" creature-
some interesting info about a nematode (or "roundworm" as it's more commonly known by):

Nematodes are difficult to distinguish, having over 28,000 described variants. 16,000 of those are parasitic. Unlike flatworms, nematodes have a digestive system that is like a tube with openings at both ends.

Also,
Wikipedia wrote:
Nematodes have successfully adapted to nearly every ecological niche from marine to fresh water, from the polar regions to the tropics, as well as the highest to the lowest of elevations. They are ubiquitous in freshwater, marine, and terrestrial environments, where they often outnumber other animals in both individual and species counts, and are found in locations as diverse as Antarctica and oceanic trenches. They represent, for example, 90% of all life on the seafloor of the Earth. Their many parasitic forms include pathogens in most plants and animals (including humans.) Some nematodes can undergo cryptobiosis.

when creating the description for nematodes, take this into account, because I think anything bigger than 5-10 ft is going overboard XD

Seeing as how this thread is dedicated to finishing up unfinished entries here are a set of notes for Mantoids for you to use in regards to their section. These notes have been sent to Kikijonson as well and have been approved for her to be used for their entry, please feel free to double check if you are unsure. All credits are due to Kiki as well in regards to Mantoids, I only helped write up the notes heh.

Mantoids are a rare race of giant tauric creatures, appearing to have an upper human torso with a lower body of that of a praying mantis. Some other mantis features are also prominent on their human half- most notably the spines covering their two human forearms and antennae protruding from the top of their head. Their mantis portions has a total of four legs and lack the two sickle arms of a mantis, combined with their human arms this is a total of six limbs. While there are some cases of truly giant mantoids, they are for the most part slightly smaller than other giant predators. An encounter with one of these beings is extremely rare, as they are very difficult to find unless they desire to be found themselves.

As infants they are swarm hunters, and devour prey much like a school of piranhas would. A mature giant mantoid however is a solitary predator. While they their feeding habits do include humanoids, they also tend to feed on larger prey than themselves, notably Harpies and even more so Dridders for their natural choices. Their arm spines and great speed are very capable of dispatching of larger predators and some Mantoids are known to even have some forms of venom at their disposal; they possess very sharp fangs to eat their larger prey.

They are extremely agile and stealthy creatures, and are fully capable of leaping out from a concealed hiding place to grapple even a Harpy cleanly out of the sky to become their next meal. Mantoids are known to hunt by blending in perfectly with the cover of the foliage throughout Felarya, and they even mimic the movement of wind with the leaves around them as ambush predators- giving them the nickname of ‘wind dancers’ by swaying from side to side slightly. Some can even change their coloration to even further blend into their environment.

Mantoid families consist of a mother and her many children which are all female as well- no males are birthed by the mother. Male mantoids are capable of reproducing via budding, although the exact means are unknown as to how this occurs. The father of such a family usually devoured by the mate soon after mating to help give her the necessary nutrition she will need while pregnant and unable to hunt; although there is the rare occasion where the female spares the male, sometimes staying together and finding other means to get by. Mantoids will sometimes migrate and will wander around until they find a location they deem suitable for living in or raising a family and then remain within that territory. As a general note, mantoids can be considered more aggressive and bolder than some other predators- mostly born out of their feeding habits.

Thank you ! I think this is a fine bio, detailled and covering all the important points Wink
I'm just a bit puzzled concerning the males not being born form the mother.. isn't that a bit oodd ? o.o
