| The Ominomicon
The book of the Eaters
His heavy book, clad in naga scale, and written on paper claimed to be made from dryad is often thought of as a joke and an urban myth, the Ominomicon is indeed a real book. First penned some hundred years ago by the missing explorer Dawaq el Ladheedh, the book was is a list of predators and dangers to be found throughout the Felarya. While no means complete and most certainly cursed, the book seems to show up and vanish almost at random, and indeed when it does so, small aspect of it seem to change, new entries appear, old entries seeming to vanish.
It is said that the secrets and vulnerabilities of many a dangerous predator, by both race and individual, can be learned by those who would brave its pages, and indeed many have searched this book out for just such information. To any who would explore the hidden wonders of Felarya the book would naturally seem invaluable, except that it isn't. Any one who read an chapter from the book will soon find that if it is probable in the near future that an encounter with the creature that he read about in the book could happen, it will. This seams to be some kind of fate effect or curse, whether what he learns in the book can help him is questionable, and knowing the secretes of such some predators, such as as Vivian, can prove... final.
(end text for now) Okay, its short I know, and needs, more... but its a start for now while I'm think about it.

| Haha. So it's a book that reveals secret weaknesses, but if followed, actually turns out to be entirely false, and they fall into a trap?
I like the name, the power gained from it makes sense, but the last sentence does not. o3 o
"except that it isn't, for any who read the entries will soon find that if it is probable that would encounter the entries they read will do so, and knowing the secretes of such Naga as Vivian can prove... final"
...Vivian is the only thing that made sense there.

| I love the name XD
How much of the texts do you have to read before your destined to encounter the creature that you've read about? do you have to read all of it? or are you cursed simply from reading the title of the chapter?

| Likely proportional to how much you read, reading a tittle it probably fine, reading a paragraph increases the risk, but badly, reading a few pages puts you in danger, reading a whole chapter... don't leave Negav for a long time. Reading multiple chapters would put you under multiple threads, and be weary, reading about a dusk sprite would leave you in danger even in Negav. | |

| This artifact sounds amazing! I can think of ways to use it in my stories/ RP storylines. X3 Does the book contain the records on all predators? IE: Preds who either don't eat human sized beings all the time or at all? Or does one have to be a nomer to get in? | |

| Why try to overly define an object that should be a mystery. While I would be inclined to say it mostly details dangerous preds, but I don't want to really restrict what might or might not show up in the book.
btw, Dawaq el Ladheedh is a joke, if you can figure it out.
