404, 404 everywhere

I've been randomly getting 404 errors throughout the forum. Can't be the proxy, it gives me a different message. I've had to wait for a few hours and refresh a few times before I could even see what the latest replies were to the Introductions thread. In fact, I'm getting one right now.

Any ideas, other than waiting it out?

Unless the 404 errors are consistent (meaning they always appear in the same part of the page when you try to load it), the reason I'd go for is an overload of one or a few nodes of the network between you and the forumotion servers. When there's too much traffic in some routers of the big network that is internet, their queues become full and the incoming packets of data after that are dropped and lost. It's quite difficult that something like that happens since there's traffic redirection and such, but there's always a possibility of a weak, key node that all the traffic of your area passes through and manages to get full.

Have you tried other sites and asking other people of your vicinity if they are experiencing internet problems?

Since today when I try to go on this Forum with my Desktop, I only see a white Screen and the Number 404, no Matter, what I try.

What gives... ?

Stabs seems to have the same problem. Also, that wasn't the appropriate thread to put it in, so I've moved it here.

(And my comp almost dies in the process. Splitting the topic apparently loads EVERY video and image in the topic, no matter the length XD)

Well - everything works normal on my Deskie - only coming here is impossible (so I work with my cellphone linked to my old Lappie now).

I only have problems with displaying images, not bad for a 3 mbps connection...

It's probably not your connection, but the servers where this forum is hosted at. I hear there even was a general break down yesterday night (afternoon in the Americas), so you'll probably just need to get used to it.
