forgotten soldiers

((this rp tells the story of a group of soldiers and scouts trying to survive and live the rest of there days in Felarya. also just an rp where anything really goes while i supply the prey.))

with the now fully operational but old base sitting somewhere near The Chidokai forest hidden someplace under ground and sporting many catacombs. these marines have the perfect place to call home. despite the low numbers of inhabitants of the base. these marines, scouts, scientists and even a few explorers have all managed to work without the standard military protocols. this group have found a name for there base, known as fort Dreaco.

((decided to play out in chapters. each chapter is complete with either all the prey introduced are gone and eaten or killed off, or the characters are safely back at the base... IF it hasn't been devastated by preds))

chapter one: scouting 101: ((my prey list for chapter))

Rina hesbend: silver shoulder length hair, and green eyes. female
rank: scout for fort Dreaco
bio: she never really was the up in with the law back at her homeworld, though Rina was one fast girl to be able to avoid the law and get away without being arrested. that was, until Rina discovered she could gain real good cash by coming to fort Dreaco... though didn't know that the government sent her on a one way trip to hell. placed as a scout who gets to explore the area first and claim what they find. Rina still thinks she can profit from just that... even though its suicidal in Felarya.
gear: standard single shot battle rifle with silencer, and standard climbing gear nessisary for getting up trees and other Felarya landscape

rank: Scout for fort Dreaco.
bio: Scout is the name of this man, though his parents used to call him Skendral O-mally before he changed his own name to Scout when joining the military in his home world. though he knew on the start of the risk of taking an out world assignment... but he wasn't prepped for when the whole government left him and the rest of fort Dreaco to fend for itself in Felarya. now prepped as a Scout for his group. he likes helping the fort map out and learn more about the place they live at. though knows one day... he might die for them knowing what to avoid
gear: standard military grade three burst rifle with silencer equipped. plus a hook pistol that lets him shoot out ropes to climb up large scale trees and other things that let him climb up and get a view of the area

Cherry Resinber: pink, to the shoulder hair, green eyes. female
rank: communication officer for fort Dreaco
bio:Cherry was one of the hackers for the military of her home. one of the best when it came to mapping out territories and finding troop location. though the problem was, she was a bit of a coward with guns. she never found out why she hated them... she prefered to sneak in, hack, then sneak out, nothing too messy. that was why she chose to come to Felarya. thinking it was just that. though her reaction to when her father, a military general told her she could no longer come back home. she lost it... now a simple hacker who hardly ever leaves the base. she decided to live here... and survive.
gear: her tools to help repair broken things outside and inside the fort. while not really combat efficient. Cherry prefers to use whit over brawn to win and survive her fights.

mission all three are following: they must figure out why three data pods that can triangulate the area above the base. and create a motion senser for Fort Dreaco have stopped working. all three are mostly together, though generally dont like each other's opinions. making them more open for preds who hear them talking.

Scout took a few breaths while right outside the cave him and the others took to get out and search for the first device that could be the source of why the radar for the base wasn't working right. or at least thats all he knew. figuring out thats why a communication's officer was out here with him and Rina. he stood there at the entrance. looking out with a nervous look. not enjoying the idea of going out where huge trees, giantesses, and other dangers lurked. but that radar was important to the base... and would help him and other scouts of knowing when coming out was safe or not.
"damn... why?" he muttered out. still eyeing the outside.

that was before he was hit in the shoulder by Rina. letting out a smirk as she heard him mutter out "because.. we are faster then the others... and can get pinkey out there and back safely" Rina claimed as she took the first step outside. after a few feet she turned to him with a smile "COME ON!~ nature ain't gonna bite us all in the ass!" she laughed a bit while seeing Scout run after her before saying
"h-hey! we cant rush off without Cherry you know... she's the key to figuring out the problem to the radar" he spoke with a serious tone
"yea... whatever." was Rina's response before turning to look back at the cave "HEY PINKEY! YOU COMING OR WHAT!?" that was when she got a hand shoved to her mouth
"QUIET!..." Scout growled before looking back at the tunnel... then at his suroundings. hoping to god no giantess was near "like me and her mentioned... we are blind... so we dont know if there is.. say, a naga or god knows what else is out here" Rina gave him a blank stair and simply shrugged before backing off his hand "alright... fine, whatever"

Cherry still stood at the entrance... unsure if she even HAD the courage to come out! she had heard the reports... even seen a few other scouts snatched up and... devoured by those giants that wander the landscape "shit... why did they stop working" she pouts before hearing the girl call her out! and worse! call her pinkey! "damn that woman... now i HOPE she gets killed off first" she muttered before gripping her tools and walked outside cautiously. looking around she walked to the group... then tossed a rock at Rina "damn it... he is right you know! there could be giant's right behind us or something with the way you talk!" she growled before leading the way "come on... the first device is this way if im correct... might as well get a move on" the other two watched each other as Cherry actually took the lead for once... and followed. unsure what they might find besides the first device on there travels.

As the three soldiers headed out from their base, an enormous girl quietly crept through the jungle a couple miles away. Kate Smith was enormous; towering at almost a hundred feet, it was surprising she could move as quickly and quietly as she did... and blend in with her surroundings fairly well. Her camouflaged clothing didn't match her surroundings too well, but it was better than nothing. The humongous rifle slung over one shoulder was similarly camouflaged, and would come in handy if anything spotted her through the foliage.

On the girl's shoulder, though, was her miniature father. Fenrir Smith crouched low just inside the hood of his daughter, which was pulled up to help her blend in more. Despite being fairly safe with her, the seasoned hunter kept his senses on high alert, smiling a little with pride as - despite her size - Kate failed to impede his listening ability much as he kept an ear out for... well, anything. They'd found precious few people, mostly beasts which had done little to dull their appetites... Kate's, especially.

It was also a tad disturbing to see her take an apparent liking to swallow things whole.

While Fenrir dwelt on that matter, though, Kate paused for a quick breather, taking a slow sip from her huge canteen. It had proven itself very useful since they'd been stuck there, and she was quietly grateful it had grown along with her. Wiping her mouth, she took stock of her surroundings... and heard distant shouting on the wind. Freezing, she listened it go on for a bit, before she began stealthily hurrying toward the sound. While her fore-brain was telling her it could mean help, her subconsciousness had begun labeling anything small and living as food... whether it talked or not.

"im telling you! there is NOTHING out here at the moment! so quit worrying!" Rina growled at the two who continued to look around worried "besides... even giant's aren't bullet proof" while knowing where to go already, the female scout lead the way as the two continued to keep eyes out for any trouble. "trust me... ive been out here before and most giants are pretty loud... we will see them coming at least a second before they get the drop on us" she was confidant that they could pull off on repairing the radar sensors in time before any threat showed

Scout however. lagged behind Rina and Cherry. looking more worried then the communication officer was "yea... but you didn't encounter a naga who wiped an entire platoon of fellow men... and SHE got a good drop on us and we didn't even see it coming!" he continued to debate and fight with Rina. trying to convince her that being over confident could get her killed.

"will you both shut it!?" Cherry warned the others. not feeling safe due to the fact the two were continuing to talk WHILE outside where any pred could hear them "you two... quiet or we all are at risk" Cherry WAS considering on abandoning this group just for the sake of keeping her existence out here a secret . but she recently discovered with other heads of the facility they lived at that some giants... mainly naga and other preds that are more adapt here in Felarya can simply 'sense' food from afar. that caused a shiver to run down Cherry's spine still! lucky them, before long they started to reach the first sensor. Cherry desiding to quietly slip past Rina to check it out wordlessly. bringing out her tools and kneeling before the object firmly placed right under a root on the side of a large tree.

Having Fun is one Thing (of pretty many others) keeping her alive. Like... testing her still growing Skills! So a happy Pearl roared in low Level Flight through the Woods - without ramming. one. damn. Thing.
After a few Weeks with Sports Instructor and Survival Specialist Priss she had mastered the Arts of Living in the Jungle - living from the Jungle! And MAN - Pearl is proud to have survived the Surviving!
Okay, even the Chief Mage of her Facility had no friggin´ Clue, to what exactly she was mutating. Pearl herself thought, she would be something between a Fairy - and a Storm Sprite - or whatever they call these flying Electrocuters... A Propos cute: Good Thing in their Shop there were some pretty hot and rugged Military Clothes - watching herself in a big Mirror with her blue and white Wrist Bands, the x-tra hot´n hardboiled TefloCarbon-Suit from WALKING CHURCH, her Boots from KINGDOM COME and her BORGHESIA-Optivisor she looked pretty high-tech! Obviously some military trained High-Speed-Fairy-Thingie pierced the Air with around 500 mph... but hadn´t one Gun.
What for anyway?
Pearl now was used to her powerful E-Plax-Organs, which recharge, when her two sturdy and thick black-violet glistening Wings were almost rotating, she could fry nearly anything in Sight.
Storm Sprite - never heared of that!
If Pearl would be asked to think of a cool Codename, she surely would like to be TESLA!
Pearl was the one-and-only Ms. Supersonic - the High-Speed-Fairy from outer Space! And this wasn´t exaggerated one Bit - she really wasn´t from here. But she liked it here. Here she could be as big or as small as she wanted - or as fast. She even could fly! Without any Plane - even if she sounded like a Warbird just now...  
And indeed...
Something sounding like an F-4U CORSAIR was bellowing through the Jungle - obviously in the Direction of the three complaining Comrades...

Pearl:

Fenrir frowned as he began to hear the voices a little clearer. "Kate..."

The giantess paused, glancing at the man on her shoulder as best she could. "Yes?" She asked, quietly.

"...If we find those people, we're going to help them. Right?"

Kate nodded, a little quickly. "O-of course..." She said, sounding a little hurt. Fenrir bit his lip, avoiding his daughters gaze a moment before she simply looked away, anyway. She kept creeping along, at any rate, and soon began to feel that weird tingle that meant her predator sense was kicking in... and food was nearby.

She froze, however, when a jet flew overhead. Kate looked up, but her view was blocked by the thick trees above. Her father, though, looked hopeful. It seemed to have been flying toward where the people had been shouting... so maybe there was some kind of base? Some civilization that could help them out?

He nudged Kate, urging her to go on. She hardly noticed, frankly, but kept going of her own volition. The trio of humans - she could sense that many - weren't too far, and she finally crept much more slowly as she closed in. It took a bit, but she eventually got a glimpse at them. Three panicked little soldiers... just enough to fill me up~...

Rina hardly seemed afraid... until she heard the sound of a jet! "th-the hell!? what IS that?..." she cursed a bit as the others were just as confused. though it was fortunate they were at the first of the three pods they were sent to fix up and see why they were out of commission. but the sound of a jet... scared the living day out of Rina.

Scout jumped as well hearing the noise coming closer and closer "maby... its one of ours?" he looked at the others... then at the communication officer to see if she knew.

Cherry... dropped a few of her things and cursed "n-no... we dont have jets... least... none we can launch currently without attracting attention" she grimly spoke "though... whatever it is... its NOT a harpy..." she tried to lighten the mood with a joke... but she knew just like the others that this could be bad... and arouse many other predators to seek out the source of the noise" she continued to work. though not without glancing behind her back to make sure the other two were on guard. and after a moment... she just realized this devise was working 100 percent "huh... its not this one thatch malfunctioning guys" she muttered. standing up to look at the active pod "looks like we will have to check the others... before we get back to home base safely.

The roaring Sound came closer - with a weird echoing Effect, created by the mighty Trunks, Pearl was trespassing. Her Reflexes were feeded by all Impressions needed to not crash into something - and then there she could see something like moving Trees.
`Odd...´ she just thought, as she realized this was... someone really REALLY big... wearing Army-Camo-Stuff! Pearl became big Eyes: "...the Heck... ?"
All Fenrir and Kate could realize, was something deep purple and partly glowing yellow, not too big - even surrounded by a thin Ring of yellow Light - roaring from the Left to the Right between Kate´s Arms and Legs under her Belly through, making Helluva howling Noise like a STUKA. And then, with a wide left Turn it vanished into a huge Bush at insane Speed.
Ticking with her right Index against her Optivisor this Thing insisted telling Pearl, that she just has seen a nice 45-Ton-Girl, which she passed like a P-51 Mustang the Golden Gate. And obviously with Army Clothes and Stuff. Just as Pearl began to smile, her current active Altitudometer told her about more Obstacles - like IR-active Bowling Pins in the Green: "WHOA!"
She managed to slow down, using the Space in a small Clearing to win Altitude - and to look what she had found this Time.
And Cherry finally could see, what was making this Warbird-like Noise: Something like a... Fairy. And a pretty unusual one, too. Wearing a Hardshell Outfit in dark Colours, some Spots of her seemed to glow in yellow Light - even some Spots on her obviously dark coloured Wings...

This remarkable Person with her short, fuzzy and pearl white Hair and her big Sun Glasses now floated in MidAir, using the Clearing as a Point, where anyone would have some Space - and they could watch each other: "Many Folks on the Run today - is there a Party I don´t know?"
Now flying on the Spot and only producing a moderate deep Hum they easily could hear her cute, rough Voice, which fitted her neat, smiling Face.

(Anyone here, knowing the Anime-Series `s-CRY-ed´? There is a Character called Scheris Adjani - imagine Pearl´s Voice like her´s.)

((Yeah, sorry... might end up having to pull out of this sooner rather than later.))

Even after the... thing had passed between her legs, awkwardly enough, Kate still stared at where it had gone. She wasn't even sure what it had been, exactly. It was more of a blur than an actual object...

Fenrir was staring at where it had gone, though; the fairy - it finally materialized into such a being - landed in the clearing where the small military personnel his daughter had been watching also stood. He blinked at that, feeling a twinge of suspicion at why Kate hadn't let him know they were there. However, he realized that would've involved making noise and/or hurting him, so he tried to tell himself.

At any rate, the two watched as the soldiers began to walk away. Fenrir nudged Kate's neck. "Hey, uh... why don't we try talking to them?"

She gave him a glance that clearly said 'and freak them out and get shot?'. She didn't actually say that, though.

Fenrir sighed. "Alright, alright... hold tight, then." He said, deftly climbing down from his daughter's shoulder, and finally reaching the ground. "If something happens, though..."

Kate just bit her lip, but nodded veeery slightly, still trying to stay out of sight. Fenrir relaxed, and slowly - casually - made his way out toward the clearing where the three humans and fairy were gathered.

"...Hello?"

just as the two scouts took point and Cherry lagged behind, Rina growled before turning back a bit "you coming!? jeez your STILL being too overcautious! i mean... there isn't anything thats going to eat us yet!"

and thats when they all froze while hearing the "hello"

looking up Scout would hear Rina gasp in surprise when she two saw what he saw... a giantess with army clothing!? Scout was a bit in shock that there were even such giants in this world. "h-hello..." he muttered back to the giantess. figuring she was more of a chatter then a eater fortunately. then again.... giantess do like to play with food. both him and Rina gulped while holding there rifles surprisingly steady. unsure what to do

Cherry however... wasn't going to take part of the buffet!. she doubled back. hiding so suddenly in the foulage right near where Fenrir landed "im just... going to go this way for a bit,..." she nerviously backed up until bumping back first into the odd and rather jet like fairy "h-huh!?"

So Pearl turned a bit around to see who was here, as she heared this new Greeting. Looking in this Direction and seeing some Guy she said with her cute, rough Voice: "Haha, another one! Here really have to be something for free, I guess?"
So she landed - and her really dark, amethyst coloured coloured Wings, which looked like nothing more than two short but sturdy organic Rotor Blades folded on her Back, as she came closer to this new Guy: "Well, as the others seem to be frozen in Shock´n Awe, You are not, because..."
her Eyes focused on to the Green behind him - and this... `big´ Surprise. But instead af being afraid Pearl´s Eyes got big - and then she broke out in Laughter: "...You already are hardboiled by something heavier, I see!  Theheee! Camo-Babe! How cool! THIS is STYLO!"
Nudging the new Guy with her Elbow Pearl smiled at him: "She´s Your Friend, hm? Haha, You can he happy - muchhhhh... to look at, hehe..."

Fenrir winced a little as his hello made all the soldiers turn around... except all their gazes were clearly filled with fear, and looking far above where he was. He had no idea how they spotted Kate so quickly, but suddenly a couple tiny rifles were pointing at his daughter.

His own lever-action hunting rifle was quickly drawn as he stepped out into the open. He wasn't sure if these soldiers could really hurt his daughter, but he wasn't taking any chances as he brought the more basic weapon up to his shoulder and aimed at the closest of the two unknown soldiers. "Put your guns down!" He barked. "Or I swear I'll-"

The fairy stepped out into the open, then, and came over toward them. Fenrir blinked, confused by her chipper attitude despite the sudden tense stand-off that had occurred. That is, until she spotted Kate, looking up at her in awe for a moment. And then she laughed, much to Fenrir's puzzlement.

And then Fenrir received a nudge from the fairy as she failed to notice the familial resemblance - or just didn't believe it - and idly mentioned that he had a lot of good stuff to look at, essentially.

In reply, Fenrir brought his rifle butt around with surprising speed, and the fairy caught a hefty blow to the face. Not enough to knock her out or cause lasting damage, as Fenrir didn't put that much force into it, but it served to convey his warning.

"That's my daughter!"

As her father was busy with the fairy, Kate slowly rose to her full height since her cover was blown. As she became more visible, two things became obvious. One, was that she was ginormous... and that, as a result, the soldiers probably wouldn't be able to hurt her without a great deal of effort. Two, her clothing was less militaristic than theirs, lacking a lot of features such as magazine pouches and the like. It all looked like civilian grade stuff... including the huge rifle slung across her back.

Kate cleared her throat. "...Uh, hi..." Just try not to think about how tasty they look...

(Okay. Because what´s going on now is pretty fast - and fast is Pearl´s second Name, I will make this one Post.)

Being used to get hit by something fast due to her early Practice in getting along with her Ability to fly faster than others were able to think, reaching deep into the Realm of the Sound Barreer - and allso due to her rugged Massivity Pearl just had to move into the Blow - which happened automatically, as she was reminded by something her Headmaster said: "Politics - sometimes looking clumsy also is Politics."
So the Buttstock hit her - which caused her to go one Step back - and caused Fenrir to realize, that `thick-headed´ actually could have another Meaning, too. Then Pearl put down her Optivisor and she looked up to Kate with her big, clear amethyst-coloured Eyes in Awe: "Wooh, really? Man, Kids nowadays grow up so fast..."
Then Pearl realized the Muzzle over Kate´s Shoulder - and her cute Laughter appeared again: "THAHAAA! And she has a Railway Gun on her Back! This Thing is so huge, it must sound like a nautic Cannon!"

Rina growled a little. still holding her rifle up "h-how do we know SHE wont eat us if we comply!?" she panicked while now aiming for the man "besides... thats close enough you!" she warned the giantess who seemed to be giving them an odd hunger like look.

Scout however. barked "RINA... stand down!" he lowered his gun when seeing the man "sorry... hello to you as well miss?" he looked at the giantess. seeing her as a possible fellow marine.

Cherry looked at the fary and quickly hid from everyone. getting into the near shrubs and keeping herself quiet while she didn't know the two stranger's porpose quite yet "dont get yourselves killed Scout and Rina..." she quietly spoke. worried for the mission... and her own life

Fenrir blinked as the fairy essentially shrugged off his blow, and kept commenting on his daughter... thankfully getting his point, at least. She didn't try matching them up as if they weren't related. That was at least a little relieving...

What wasn't relieving, though, was the fact Kate was on the verge of getting shot. Not to mention one of the soldiers - a female - rounded on him, aiming an assault rifle at Fenrir. He froze, knowing he couldn't draw his own gun in time. Maybe if I use the dumb fairy as a shield...

Then the male soldier suddenly told her to stand down, which got Fenrir and Kate to glance at each other in surprise. Fenrir began to cautiously approach them as the man - no, kid - apologized. He even offered a weak greeting.

Kate shifted a little, still trying not to see everyone present as a collection of food. Ugh, I should've eaten more earlier. "Y-yeah, hi..." She said, carefully sitting down with a surprising lack of noise. "Who're you guys?" She asked, gently picking up her father and holding him in her lap so he could get a good view and help her talk to the two soldiers.

"When something could go wrong - it´s Time to cool down Tensions." Pearl´s Instructor Priss once said. The impressive and brawny 10-Foot-Woman, who looked much alike a Couguar was surprisingly patient - and she could effort it, because she had the fitting Reflexes to outwork nasty Surprises easily.
So Pearl... simply sat down.
Like an Indian.
"Don´t know these other Guys - as for me: I am Pearl Bullock, former Test Pilot and SkyDiver from New Caledonia, an Archipelago on Tuvalu II." the Hightech-Fairy introduced herself. Noticing Details was also a Term on Priss´ Survival Plan - so Pearl could easily see, that all these Guys around here were not only familiar with Firearms - they obviously also know how to carry and to use them. Comparing this Fact with felaryan Standards this only could mean one Thing... She looked up to the huge Girl and smiledl: "So I presume, You have `adapted´, when You arrived here - otherwise a small Dad like him would make no Sense. And when I came here, I was pretty `normal´, too - well, for my Standards, that is. And hey, at least You HAVE a Dad, who You can count on - mine was an Asshole."

it took a long moment before Rina finally lowered her rifle when seeing the giantess sit down. practically she forced herself to lower the wepon "alright... well its not everyday you see a giant NOT go for you when your smaller then them.."

"quiet! we should be happy" Scout muttered swiftly to her then smiled lightly "sorry... we've been a bit jumpy lately with our radar pods knocked down and blinding us back at our base" he started to explain to them. hoping that he and his friends could get a giant's help.

Cherry was still hidden in the brush. growling a little while still observing the fairy newcomer more then the giantess. she could tell it was a matter of time before the giant kicked into her natual instincts and start acting like a pred. then again.. she should hang back for a moment and see for herself if this girl can control herself.
