Biography/Backstory
Nicolas Watson was a treasure hunter that operated around the Americain southwest, in some version of reality that included a planet similar to Earth. It wasn't entirely the same; Magic was prevalent in that era of civilization, and history didn't play out the same, but generally, it is comparable to Earth, including sharing the name(s).

Nick came to Felarya in search of treasure, and the rush of adrenaline that a place like Felarya would entail. He searched for it with his closest friends, Jared, and Kelsi Goodman.

Jared and Kelsi Goodman were both professional treasure hunters and historians. Their son, Luther Goodman was a prodigy and had participated in many of their expeditions since he was 12 years old. As of now, he is 18. Nick, as his godfather has formed a close bond with him.

During their many early journeys, they came across different hints and rumors about a dangerous and magical world, full of mysteries and secrets. To them, a place like that was a dream come true. They tracked down multiple leads and had a few dead ends. But their search was not in vain; they found a then-unknown wizard who claimed to be a scientist who could send them to Felarya. However, there were some side effects he did not mention.

The portal had some drastic effects on them. Nick, was granted strange powers, gaining control over darkness. Jared attained super intelligence, as well as an alien robotic body. And Kelsi grew... a lot. Luther did not gain any powers, as the mutation was linked to an artifact each of them was carrying.

Now that they were finally in Felarya, a whole new chapter of their life is unfolding. The powers were unexpected, but nothing they couldn't get used to. Kelsi's were the hardest to accommodate, but with their combined ingenuity, they make a great team.

They currently have a large and extravagant mansion that they built over time. Large enough to accommodate Kelsi, and the rest of them comfortably.

Nick has some of the most potent Shadow Manipulation abilities out there, although he is not precisely aware of the full extent of his powers, and thus doesn't see himself as all that impressive of a being. He spends a lot of time experimenting with his abilities, but with no frame of reference, he has no idea if these powers are weak or strong.

Of course, he doesn't know the full extents of his power and isn't even aware he has some of them, learning about them as needed, or even accidentally.

He can also freely possess objects and willing lifeforms, and through a process of:

A: Convincing (Be it with a deal, or just straight up convincing them with words.)
B: Tricking (Be it with a con, usually in the form of a contract.)
C: Breaking (A targets will, i.e., scaring them, or generally being weaker, Like plants, animals, or less developed beings.)

He may possess unwilling/previously unwilling lifeforms. One of the only ways you can detect if Nick possesses someone, besides just noticing that something is off, is if they start to bleed darkness, or what could only be described as black blood, from their eyes. An uncontrollable trait, mean's he will have to leave their body as their will is growing too strong for him to control. He can use his powers while in another person's body, regardless of who's in control. So if you ever wanted to manipulate darkness, he's your best bet. People who are under his control are still conscious, although he can make them unconscious and continue to control the body normally.

He could also retreat into living creatures to hide, like a parasite. He does not require permission to do so, and there isn't much you can do to get rid of him. He cannot hurt the host, and the host feels little to no disturbance. The most he can do is tap into their senses (Like feel their pain, or See through their eyes), and sometimes weaken them if their minds are being strained. He could do this in a benevolent way, for example, removing their sense of pain when they are hurt. He can speak to them telepathically when doing this and can communicate back and forth with people he has fully possessed as if he is talking to a voice in his head.

His favorite abilities are flight, and Darkness mimicry, i.e. letting him become shadows. And he also likes possessing creatures, as it's dark but funny. He knows a few other tricks, but the vast majority of his powers are unknown.

Character:

Nick is a very easygoing individual. When with close friends, he is very laid back and chill, and that was even before his powers. After he got his powers, he became even more so. He quite literally floats around, drinking and smoking and talking nonsense with whomever. He's a fairly social creature, despite the uneasy impression his powers may impose. And a heavy substance abuser...

This is not to say that he is lazy, as he is quite the opposite. When he has a task that he deems is important (Or will be rewarded for completing.) He sees to it ASAP. And of course, his powers make mundane tasks less mundane if not a little fun. He is somewhat wise, always knowing what to do or say during any situation... or at the very least, pretending to. His suggestions are almost always complete BS that he spouts off the top of his head, but the way he delivers lines can convince even the most brutal skeptics in a single sentence. And when he gets lucky, it's amazing.

Both before, and after making it to Felarya, he's been a heroic type. He once interrupted a bank robbery and called the crook's bluff during a stickup. With such power at is fingertips, one might imagine he'd be cocky, arrogant and fearless. No, No, and Yes.  While he is fearless, he is not cocky, nor arrogant. He isn't afraid of confrontations, but he would much prefer to keep violence to a minimum and make friends with whomever he can. This ideology takes a sharp 180 when he is drunk, or hasn't had a cigarette in a while, though. Luckily, he has a gigantic stockpile of Cigarettes and Booze (And maybe some drugs...) in a pocket dimension he made.

When you meet him on the right days though, he's a joy to be around. He has incredible and diverse wit and has a fantastic way with words. He can be dry and blunt, or harmless and quirky, but the least he'll get when he tries is a smile. He's currently not met a person he couldn't make laugh and is always up for bets in that regard.

He is willing to help any adventurers in Felarya make safe travels through the area, or at least offer some good company. Although most adventurers he meets are cocky and deny his services, they quickly change their minds when they are face to face with Giant nagas, or getting picked off one-by-one by a gang of fairies. He usually doesn't ask for much, sometimes all he asks for in return is a high-five or a fist bump. Since he IS a treasure hunter, he relates to them. Sometimes he'll toy with people, finding some sadistic sense of joy from reveling in their fear, but unless he agreed with a predator before meeting the human, he will usually keep them safe.

Speaking of predators, he likes to see himself as untouchable prey. He loves to mess with predators that mistake him as a mere human and more specifically, an easy meal. He finds predators better company than humans and only hesitates a little to sacrifice humans or other humanoids in exchange for friendship with a predator. He sees both predators and prey as living beings, with their own lives, friends, and families, and thus, treats them both with respect. However, predators are a little more sparse, and there always seems to be a surplus of Humans in Felarya, so he sees them as a bit more... expendable. He'd never betray Humans or predators that he has made close relations with, though.

Physical description:

Jared is a tall, handsome man, with a sturdy build. He wears classic safari attire. (I think that sums it up.) As far as his robotic parts go, he has a bit of a steampunk feel to it. Steam vents, gears, cogs, bars, hinges, and lots of copper and brass.  All the good stuff! At the same time, it kind of defies physics to have features that shouldn't fit, so just roll with it!

Biography/Backstory

Jared Goodman was a historian and treasure hunter in his previous life. He met Nick in elementary school, and they'd been best friends since then. They lived next door to each other in the apartment building that Jared's father owned. Not only were their best friends, but their family was extremely close as well. Nick and Jared's dad had become close friends shortly before Nick and Jared, which is how they were introduced, and Jared's older sister became intimate with Nick's older brother, eventually marrying each other. Both families lived without a mother.

When Jared turned 14, Jared's sister was able to run the apartment just fine on her own, and take care of all the business involved with that, and Jared's dad became a university history professor. This is what piqued Jared's interest in history, as well as Nick's.

Character:

Jared is a smart, and virtuous leader. These traits were amplified upon arrival in Felarya, now having more purpose than before. He has always had a great yearning for knowledge and understanding of history, and he has now grown to love science too. He is always looking for ways to improve himself and others' lives and likes to innovate.

With his new robot body, he is much more energetic than he used to be and is always itching to do something. He NEVER sleeps and refuses to do so, even when others beg him to. The only person who has a chance of convincing him otherwise is Kelsi, and even if she does "win" he'll put himself into sleep mode, and come up with plans for the next day, like a computer. He's a lot more analytical than he used to be, and that is undoubtedly due to machines being prone to analyzing all available information to produce the most effective results.

He still does a lot of treasure hunting with Kelsi, although Kelsi's immense size and Jared's body make it far too easy to keep their attention, so Jared has shifted his focus towards finding a way to return Kelsi to normal so that they can enjoy this place together.

Jared's relationship with predators is entirely different from Nick's. Nick has a soft spot for them, and enjoys them, whereas Jared doesn't approve. He thinks the predators are about as useful as the ones back home. All they are is a risk, and so he tries to either avoid them or deter them. He would even go so far as to kill one of given a chance. Nick is always telling him to calm down, and that they aren't that bad when they can't eat you, but Jared thinks that they're not only a risk, but thinks they're cruel and cocky and would like nothing more than to give them a taste of their own medicine. If he sees Nick with a predator, he won't attack them, but he also won't be nice to them.

This ideology is a stark transition from his previous self that was seemingly left at home. It might stem from his new robotic body having some effect on his personality, possibly a logic matrix of sorts flagging predators as a threat, and addressing them accordingly. Kelsi likes to think that he's worried about Luther, who doesn't have any special abilities and is "mortal" here. Jared knows that Luther is a smart kid, and far more careful than the average prey, but maybe it could be fatherly instinct?

Despite this, he isn't incapable of letting loose, and other than his hatred of predators, he's a very chill guy. He likes alcohol as much as Nick, but stays away from smoking, and even further from drugs.

His relationship with Kelsi, post-Felarya is still active, and their love for each other isn't waning. Expressing it in ways other than verbal reminders is a bit more difficult, but they HAVE had sex with their new bodies. Do with that what you will...

Appearance

Kelsi has a slender body type, proportional to her size. At first, she wore makeshift clothing for a while, while she and Jared designed a scaled-up version of Jared's outfit, that would work for her. (She even wore shadow clothing Nick made, for a while!) She now has extravagant safari gear, scaled up to massive proportions. It's sexy but practical. She's probably the most well-dressed giantess in all of Felarya! Not to brag, or anything.

Biography/Backstory

Jared and Nick met Kelsi in middle school, pretty early on. After that, they became an inseparable trinity. Having a female in your crew at a young age was pretty impressive, but Kelsi wasn't like other girls. She would much rather play outside and go on adventures than play with dolls or worry about fashion.

The three went on adventures together, and as they got older, they started getting more serious about it. They did lots of volunteer work together in their hometown related to archeology, and made a few minor discoveries, making it into the local news various times.

This love for archeology and historical research led to them all to get PhDs in history. Their drive to do so was more grounded in their genuine interest and later used it in their career as treasure hunters.

Very shortly after graduating, Jared married Kelsi. Kelsi went on many dates with Jared, and some with Nick, but it was Jared who she loved. She loved Nick differently, but she uniquely connected with Jared.

They made a name for themselves, making groundbreaking discoveries, and solving dozens of myths, and locating countless artifacts. Anyone in the business knew something about them, and even people out of the loop could recognize any of the three names.

Long before making it to Felarya, Kelsi and Jared had a child together, named Luther.

Character:

Kelsi is tomboyish, obviously, and so she gets along well with both Jared and especially Nick. Although her heart belongs to Jared, her personality meshes very well with Nick. For starters, she dabbles in substance abuse, although she doesn't commit fully nearly as often as Nick. Still, if she has a drink, she'll be tipsy afterward, no doubt. It's hard now that she's grown though, and Nick has to resort to stealing alcohol from Negav so they can drink together. It's dangerous for her to go near the place, but Nick can get in quick, and get out with plenty of loot.

Kelsi has a great sense of humor and LOVES to talk to Nick for his dry wit, and although she'd never share this with another living soul, likes to see Nick act goofy because it's a surefire way to make her giggle like mad. They have good banter and perfect chemistry for backing each other up in a fight, along with excellent back and forth during the battle. In any case, he likes riding on her shoulder and exploring, and she adores his company, so it's a mutual exchange.

Kelsi isn't really a predator, but she also isn't really NOT a predator. She has the potential, due to being a giantess, and many people would assume she is one since she lives in Felarya, but she's pretty unwilling to eat people. If they are decent, they can move right along, no problem. But if they aren't playing nice, or provoke her, she'll give em' what they wanted, and fight back. She'll swallow certain people, but it's on a case-to-case basis. You could also pay her or dare her to eat someone, and she'll do it. Even if she won't admit it, she knows it'll feel good. It always does...

Kelsi is generally a sweet person though and likes to keep thing mellow. She enjoys romance with Jared, and is pretty kinky, making the transition to their new bodies slightly less difficult for her in particular, pretty willing to experiment. She's helpful, smart, and resourceful as well. She's been combat trained since her mid 20's and is a master in hand-to-hand combat, and skillful in a wide range of firearms and melee weapons. She's up for a friendly fight any time, but otherwise, her offensive skills are purely a self-defense precaution.

Lately, she's been finding this world a bit too easy to explore as a giant, and would instead see a way to return to normal. Of course, she's not sure if this is possible. She isn't as opposed to the body as Jared is. A part of her would even rather stay the way she is, but she hasn't told Jared that, and he's still researching a way.

When she isn't with Jared or Nick, she gets along well with any other predators she comes across. Some of the more harsh predators that see humanoids as strictly food try and take them by force, so Kelsi either has to fight them off or pretend to eat them. She usually picks the latter... pretty easy to stuff them in her mouth and swallow, since both of them can get out with relative ease. Jared won't admit he kinda likes it, and instead protests against doing it, because he knows that'll make her want to do it more. Nick is pretty indifferent, and just smirks when he gets out.

Kelsi and Nick have always had a healthy relationship, but there was a moment in their life when something changed, and their relationship was solidified to a one-of-a-kind thing. They don't talk about it, but they both know when it was. Jared does as well.

Luther Goodman wears a blue sweater vest, with a white dress shirt beneath it and a tie tucked in. He wears khaki pants and a brown belt, and flat gray shoes. Basically dressed like a professor, as he likes to dress for the job he wants.  

Biography/Backstory:

Luther was born a little over fifteen years before getting to Felarya and is the son of Jared and Kelsi Goodman. Nick Watson is his godfather. From an early age, he showed tremendous strides in brain growth and development, eventually being classified as a prodigy. Not only was he interested in his parent's work, understanding the complex aspects of it, but he is also fluent in math, literature, and many different art outlets.

Since he was eight years old, he served as an assistant to Nick in the business and analysis parts of their treasure hunting work. He helped Nick research the artifacts and published reports on them.  He also organized the contributions they would make, and where they would make them, and worked with museums as a guest speaker for tours since age 10.

On his 12th birthday, he went on his first expedition with Nick, Jared, and Kelsi. He was kept on records, and although the journey faced criticism and controversy, Jared and Kelsi fought adamantly to defend their child. They made multiple great discoveries on the expedition and managed to get Luther credits on all of them, making Luther the youngest archeologist to date, becoming well known, as well as an inspiration to many.

Since then, he participated in any expeditions he was able to. He achieved critical acclaim and worldwide success. Luther has done enough to retire at 15. Of course, he worked because he loved the work.

When he and the rest of his family got transported to Felarya, Luther did not gain any special abilities. This is because Nick, Jared, and Kelsi were carrying unique artifacts given to them by the "scientist" when they entered the portal that led to them getting the powers.

Character:

Luther is an upbeat, confident, and caring individual.  In contrast to the rest of his Family, he does not like to take risks like his parents or Nick and prefers to mitigate the chances of failure before taking action. Because of this, Luther is better suited to work alongside Jared than he is Nick or Kelsi. Now because of his robot body, Jared is far more analytical and deliberate which complements nicely with Luther.

Luther's relationship with Jared is how one might expect. Luther is fascinated with his robot body and is always trying to learn something from him, one day hoping to himself that he could make his own body like his dad's. Jared understands and can't do anything but acknowledge the danger of Felarya and is doing everything he can to make it safer for Luther. This includes extensive protective gear and offensive equipment.

He loves his mom, and they get along just fine. Before Felarya, they spent a lot of time together, but now that she has grown exponentially, it's dangerous for him to out in Felarya alone, or even with her. It's safer to travel with Jared or Nick since their powers can keep him out of danger better than Kelsi's can. Because Kelsi wants Luther to be able to continue going on adventures, she is giving him advanced combat training and strategic expertise.  

He gets along well with Nick, respecting and trusting him as much as he does his parents. Nick trains Luther in a variety of vocal exercises. Nick has learned that even the biggest and scariest predators have weaknesses that you can exploit just by talking. He gives Luther training in speech and always reminds him to stay calm, as that can often throw predators off, if only for a couple of seconds. Nick's training method usually involves possessing Luther, leaving him with control, but talking him through encounters, and giving him suggestions or pointers. That way, if things go south, Nick can get him out of there.

Nick absolutely loves doing that because some predators already recognize Nick, and it's not as easy to mess with them as it used to be.
