Felarya Bio: Pendraig

Like my previous post, there aren't any draconic humanoid races in Felarya. Sledgewyvers are a subspecies of Harpy, not a dragon. So here's my bio for the Pendraig. Their name means Chief Dragon or Dragon's Head.

Felarya Bio: The Pendraig

The Pendraig are a race of draconic humanoids that range in a variety of colors based on their subspecies. Not a lot is known about them or their history in Felarya due to the Pendraigs nearly being wiped out except that one of their leaders Draco, was a member of the Guardians until his brother Nidhogg, betrayed him and the Guardians by siding with Alcazath, the feared king of the Titans. Nidhogg led a bloody campaign and massacred all who reused to join him. To stop his brother, Draco battled Nidhogg and sacrificed himself to imprison his brother in Hell while Nidhogg vowed to return and destroy the guardians. Due to the war between the Guardians and the Titans, many Pendraigs had fallen on both sides and the race was almost wiped out. While some live up to the legend of the European dragon's destructive nature, some Pendraigs served as guardian protectors.


Description: The females range from 130ft while the males 150ft is tall. Most of them have a pair of wings either on their back or on their arms. Their tail can come in a variety of designs, from a venomous barbed tail to a whip-like tail. While all Pendraig's breathe fire, there are variations between each subspecies.

The Fire Pendraig: The Fire Pendraig's scales have great fire resistance and range in a variety of all fire-based colors from red to green. They breathe fire that is hotter than the planet Venus. While some live up to the legend of the European dragon's destructive nature, there are some Fire Pendraigs who served as guardian protectors. They can be found in the Pyrale mountains subzones, Mount Vylkren, and the Basalt plains.

Earth Pendraig: The Earth Pendraig are the strongest physically and have the hardest scales of all Pendraig subspecies that range in a variety of earth or forest-based colors. Unlike the Fire Pendraig, the Earth Pendraig's fire breath can vary from molten magma breath or poisonous fire breath. Earth Pendraig has a deep respect for nature and other creatures. Anything or anyone that threatens the balance of nature will feel a living force of nature's wrath. They are spread throughout Felarya's forests and jungles. The Giant tree, Tolmeshal forest, Ascarlin mountains, and even the Miragia forest.

Storm Pendraig: The Storm Pendraig are among the fastest flyers in Felarya, an argument that they have with the Storm Sprites. Their scales vary in metallic colors and protect them from lightning attacks. They love a good storm and will fly inside of thunderstorms. Instead of breathing fire, Storm Pendraig has bioelectrical organs that help them discharge a bolt of lightning out of their mouth. Storm Pendraig is often spotted in the Navroze mountains, the Great rocky fields, the Orelosk plateau, and the Teferis forest.

Ice Pendraig: Like the Storm Pendraig, Ice Pendraig breathe ice out of their mouth. Their scales range in various winter colors. Sometimes they can seem cold but they do care about those close to them. They are the only Pendraig subspecies that have a high cold tolerance and prefer living in cold climates like Frost Peak, Imoreith Tundra, and Elifga valley.

Behavior: Pendraigs are highly Territorial and will defend their territory with their life. Most live by an honor code similar to the Viking's nine noble virtues, courage, honesty, honor, fidelity, discipline, hospitality, industriousness, and self-reliance. The male often fights over the females in aerial combat that can be a deadly and calculating affair. Once the winner either drives away the loser or kills him, he said his mate will begin preparing their new lair for the eggs.

Reproduction: Pendraig mate for life. Like the Nagas and Harpies, the Pendraig females lay up to four human-sized eggs, both parents take turns heating the egg while the other goes out to get food. Pendraig parents raise their children together and are very protective, Heaven have mercy on anyone foolish enough to steal one of their eggs from them. Should this happen, the parents will mercilessly hunt down the thief and destroy anything or anyone in their way. Each Pendraig subspecies has its way to incubate its eggs. Fire Pendraig parents cover the eggs with rocks to shield them from a direct blast of the fire and retain the heat. Earth Pendraigs bury their eggs deep in their lair as crocodiles do. Female storm pendraigs sit on their eggs and use their bio-electricity to incubate the eggs while their mate goes out hunting. The Ice Pendraigs is the only subspecies to encase their eggs in a small igloo-like structure that can be adjusted to keep the eggs warm.

Hunting Habits:
Like many of Felarya's giant residence, Pendraigs are deadly predators. They are not picky about eating small prey but they prefer larger prey to show their draconic superiority. They will often raid and attack caravans and settlements. They always leave one survivor to tell of their deeds. As for hunting large prey, they view it as a challenge of dominance, some will even attack a storm manticore or a hive of tonorions.

Alright, now I'm looking at it. This is interesting.

Already from the start you intertwine their history with the fate of the Guardians and Alcazath- do you skip all their history in the years since for any particular reason?
You also tell us they all breathe fire, right before going into specifically tell us that half of them don't. You might wanna reword that, skip the first part on whether they breathe fire to start with?
Planet Mercury isn't that hot. It only goes up to 427ºC, not enough to even melt aluminium, and that's on the hot side. It's much cooler on the low side.
Other than that, this is a good start, but you might want to elaborate on what a fire-based color is: some fires are blue, and some are green, and some others are even purple. You might also want to fold the behaviour part on mating fights into the reproduction section. You've got room, too, you can tell us more about the nine viking virtues and how they practice them.
