Starwing
Size: 130-170 ft, without the wingspan

The starwing is a massive platinum-white colored creature with a sparkling crystal-like aura that makes its home near the boundary between Felarya's sky, and the dimensional space beyond. Similar to the flying whales they follow the ley lines and other sources of primordial magic for their migration patterns. These creatures resemble a serpent-like furry body with a head somewhere between a bird's and a dragon's, but smooth and graceful. Giant feathers adorn the back of the head where horns would be, larger feathers on back with smaller feathers down around the side of the head to the jawline.

Sources claim they absorb light and magic for nutrition but sometimes will descend for hunting. In which case they will eat anything they can get their mouth on, including humans.

It has massive wings which appear to be some manner of starlight coated feather wings, making it difficult to determine if the wings are real, part of its body, feathers coated in natural magic, or magic that takes the appearance of giant feathered wings. The feathers of these creatures rarely ever touch the ground and contain supernatural healing abilities even by Felaryan standards, able to cure even the most grave injuries. A starwing feather is one of the most beautiful objects one can find in Felarya. The few times a feather has been brought to Negav, it was sold for astronomical sums of money. Alchemist tales mention that combining dryad amber with starwing feather will create an angelic elixir capable of defying death, but nobody has succeeded.

It is unclear what manner of magic a starwing knows, but theories suggest borderline-sapience, psionics, and powerful dimensional and transfiguration magic powerful enough to take on armies. Tales speak of them being impossible kill, but easy to befriend - though since they rarely if ever need to land, no claim has been verified.
