| I'm surprised no one has made a thread about this yet.

Anyways, Michael Jackson, who was an internationally famous popstar and musician, died today on June 25th. Surely among the most famous people to die in recent memory. I believe we who saw him for the highly influential person he was should be humbled today. Thoughts?

| This was the first thing I heard when I woke up. Despite all the media attention in recent years because of other things, He is still one of my favourites to listen to. RIP Michael Jackson. Edit: Tasteless pic removed.

| I think they misprinted some of the details on his death....
They said he was in the emergency room having a heart attack...
I'm pretty sure he was in the children's ward having a stroke...
Straight to hell I go...

| I got one of those kind of jokes in an email yesterday: - Quote :
- It is my understanding that the residue of his many bouts of surgery will be melted down to be very pale lego blocks. It is hoped that children will play with Michael, for a change.
His death just seems to give people more chances for making jokes.

| Well, the purpose of laughter is to help man defy harsh circumstance by looking at it from a different viewpoint... ah well, the jokes will be going for a long time after. | |

| never really listened to much of his stuff, but I still think it's a tragedy. Weird thing is, he was a relatively young person to die via heart attack even though there weren't any signs of overdose on drugs.
RIP Michael Jackson | |

| Poor guy. But substantial evidence says that his death was drug-related, though not illegal drug-related.
Never liked the guy, personally. And all you hear about his death on the news is how good of an artist he was, never about the... incidents with little kids. Even so, I know none of these incidences as being true fact, so I cannot judge him. The world seems somehow different with him dead...
And I suppose I can make no more jokes about his altered appearance, out of respect for the dead.

| Just because he's dead hasn't stopped people form making jokes, it actually gives more material to use (E.g. pale Lego bricks). Respect for the dead is rather rare when it comes to people of his reputation. I like his music, but not the guy himself since he became "Wacko Jacko". | |
