There's a few questions I've got about glouteaux. I meant for Elsie to keep some for food, and that made me think how little I actually know about them.

So first of all, what kind of birds would they resemble? I described them as dull brown pheasants myself, but I've got no idea if that would have sat right with everyone here or not. We'd better start working on that front too.

Second, their simplistic behaviour makes me wonder how is it they stay alive.

Oh, and last, I'd like sharing a little idea. I meant for Elsie's cruelty and creepiness to be absolutely unmatched by any other predator (yes, even THAT one), and here's a strange thought I had. How about glouteaux having the ability to store fat in their livers? If she could make foie gras with them... it'd be a nice start. No predator plays with their prey's methabolism that long, as far as I know. Besides, it'd help me stablish her as creepy.

On second thought, nah about that last one. Probably, having some alchemical means to make her prey store fat in their livers would be both a lot creepier (since it could happen to you) and a little funnier (since it could happen to you). But if they do that on their own, that'd help us fleshing the poor guys out.

Hmm... the image that came to mind when I thought about the Glouteux was that it resembled one of the old giant predatory birds like a Gastornis, though with some Dodo-ish features.

This is pretty much what I imaged too.

For reference, a render of a Gastornis

I always thought of them as giant guineafowl.

Mhh looking at the picture of a guinea fowl, I think it would be quite similar in shape but with a bigger head and thicker neck ^^

Bigger head, thicker neck... got it. So, they do resemble fowl. That's one huge relief...

I have those on my family's farm...so, I know what they look like. So, that explains their stupidity.
