Well, here's one for you. An original creature that may get some mixed feedback.
Name: Arthronode AKA "The Electric Crab"
size: 4 feet tall, twenty feet in length from leg to extended leg (long crab legs)
threat: moderate-special
Arthronode (Phylum- Arthropoda, Node- electrical thingy)
Yes. They are electric crab creatures. They scour the seas (and often lands) of Felarya, going about their business. They look like regular crabs, except they are orange in color and have massive claws. (and seem to have metal spikes on their shells) Also, they have gaping wide mouths which allow them to eat massive amounts of food.
Primarily, they scour the sea floor, looking for barnacles, smaller creatures, mermaids and anything else they can feed on. However, when they lack underwater food (or when they see prey that leaves the water) they take to the land and scuttle sideways across the sand, chasing their meal down. For some reason, when they catch their prey, they become rather picky about it. They chop it up if it is a male creature, but will swallow it whole if it's a woman creature. Research from the Aquatic scientific division has determined that their reason for doing this is because women are more slender and are swallowed more easily.
What makes them so dangerous is their power of lightning. Though it can only shock their opponents and prey when at normal power, it shocks just long enough for them to catch up. Sometimes they'll electrify their feet and magnetize them from the ions in the soil, which allows them to "skate" across the land. Underwater, when they attempt to catch prey, they shoot out a stream of electricly charged bubbles to both ensnare and paralyze their opponent. From there, it's an easy catch.
During mating season, which usually occurs on a thundery night, they create magnificent lightning spectacles in both the sky and the sea, wooing over female crabs. Later on, after the sexytime takes place (not exciting for crabs, really) the male crab takes off, leaving the female to care for the hundred eggs left behind.
What makes them rather dangerous is that, during thunder storms, their metal spikes conduct electricity and give them absurd boosts of power. Everything increases, from strength and stamina to electric power and, of course, appetite. Here they go on feeding frenzies, devouring any creature that moves.
Though they only travel in small groups (2 or 3) they are not to be trifled with.
odd observations: they've been known to travel towards human installations and eat batteries for their charge, along with dropped iPods, gameboys, and whatever else they drop. The electricity gives them a bit more of a charge.
They are instinctual creatures, and for the most part, lack human intelligence, except for the....
Name: ArthroSapianode AKA "The Electric Crab Girl"
size: 7-8 feet tall, twenty feet in length from leg to extended leg
threat: minimal for women, high for men
(Phylum- Arthropoda, Primary Genus- Sapien, Node- electrical thingy)
These creatures are half Arthronode, and half human. They are basically in the same shape as dridders (waist up human in the front, animal part in the back).
The "Electric Crab Girl", as they are called, is only born every ten or so years, primarily due to the magic of the Felaryan soil blessing them with diverse DNA. Only females Crab Girls are born, no males. When they are born, they come from a single crab egg, which takes the place of a normal load of a hundred crab eggs. They grow up quickly and become human sized in five months, and soon grow a few feet more over their years. They can live a total lifespan of 300 years.
They can breathe underwater like their crabby brethren, and can survive on the food they eat. They have similar electric powers, and have the same preferences. Their bodies can't be harmed by electricity, but rather, it makes them much stronger. Also, they have two pairs of arms. One is a human pair, while the other is a crab pair (claws included), oddly located on the human half, just below the human arms. However, unlike regular Electric crabs, they are highly intelligent and think beyond their instincts.
What makes them different is their desires. Crab Girls think much like humans do, and will take any opportunity to learn about them. They are much more curious about objects they find, and will make a collection based on what they acquire.
Sadly, they are born with a prejudice towards all male life. Since their fathers leave them before birth, they only have their mother to care for them. Because of this, they kill any male they deem to be "trash", even if they aren't hungry. The only way to escape this category is if you best them in battle, befriend a woman they like, or quickly undergo a gender change. (the latter is only for a last resort) They not only respect women, but fall in love with them, seeing as their crab mates aren't exactly the best looking species. Once in a while they'll fall in love with a male who truly means alot to them, but it doesn't happen much.
If you are a female, befriend one of these creatures and you will not be sorry. They can prove to be good allies and wonderful friends. Though they will chase you in the same fashion that Namesta chases after Crisis. If you are a male, fall to your knees and beg for mercy, for they will likely scorn you for the rest of both your and their lives. Bring a girl with you and they may show leniency.
They actually aren't vorish in nature. They love women too much to eat them, and they say that men are only good if you are REALLY hungry. Otherwise they only stay under the waves, eating whatever looks good.
odd observations: once a neko man and crab girl mated during the mating season. Needless to say, their children were VERY unique hybrids. Let's just say it was "shocking".

I hope this is a good idea. It's the first big thing I've submitted since I had a stomach flu a few days ago, so it's also the first thing I've been clear on for a while. I hope it is to your liking. (and I'm sorry, especially to Karbo, if I've been a bit chaotic over those days. I've kinda been a jerk these past few days due to my feeling like crap)
Oh, and multiple elements of the creatures may vary from Earth crab habits. This is intentional.
