Sairen o Uta Part 1
by Enemene Kikyo, Okishima
It was a somewhat gloomy morning as I walked out of Ms. T's library, about to head my way over to Aurora's place. I spent a good time
reading some book about Felaryan Wildlife. I don't really know why, but I find Felaryan animals and plants very interesting. I Guess since I hang
out with a giant man eating snake women, that I just sort of developed a weird interest hehe.
I placed my hands in my pocket as I walked down the sidewalk, walking by all the people as I go along. Its way too crowded here in
Negav, just feels to me that everyone is just bunched together in this city. I guess it makes sense though, I mean this IS like the only place that
it is safe to be. Out in the jungle is like, everything WILL eat you. I would know, I've had my share of tummy trips. I am probably like the only
person in this city who actually been inside a predator multiple times and live to tell about it. It's rather funny after thinking about it. I guess I
am just luckier than the average Felaryan person, I mean, I did befriend a predator, that's kind of saying something. Being different does pay
off after all, despite my rather, pale uniqueness from the normal human. Sometimes people mistaken me for a vampire, no clue why.
On the thought of uniqueness, as I walked I noticed an odd looking girl sitting down in front of a building, holding a strange white colored
instrument just strumming notes. She really stood out from the crowd, with her unique colored hair. It looked almost like a bright sunny sky,
being blue with while areas that seemed cloud like. Her hair was kind of curly that led down her back.
She was looking down at her instrument with her eyes slightly closed, as if she was completely ignoring everyone around her and just
focusing at strumming her instrument. I decided to get a little closer to get a closer look at this strange girl. As I got closer and go a better look
at her, I saw that she looked like she was around her early 20's, perhaps like 19 to 20ish years old. In front of her was a little top hat with a few
coins in it. I guess she was playing for money, but I don't know why that seems odd. She doesn't really seem to be paying attention to anyone.
I bet like if I wanted to, I could go in and snatch a few coins and she wouldn't care. Of course I wouldn't do that. She must be poor if she is
playing for money, makes me feel a little bad. After all I have a lot of money now and I don't do a single thing. Ever since Aurora found that
deposit of Ascarlin in her burrow after digging, I have been getting lots of money for supplies to build with.
I sighed to myself as I took out a couple dozen coins and dropped them into her hat. Right when I did that, the girl looked up at me. Her
eyes were a deep blue color that seemed like she was looking into my very being.
"…Oh…um…Hi…" I said to her. "You play really good."
"Da kimi hawi kieta?" she replied in some sort of strange language. I had no idea what she just said. I didn't recognize the language, I
figured I would since I read a lot of books teaching Felaryan languages, but this one seems completely foreign to me.
"…Oh…um…I don't understand your language…um…do you know another language…possibly English?..." I asked. She just looked at me
blankly as if I was making a complete fool of myself.
"…Kama sawi…meut lawia dea Kajiuran…" she replied in her strange language. It was kind of awkward talking to someone you have no
idea what they are saying.
"…Oh…um…ok?...um…What's your name?..." I asked as I rubbed my shoulder in unease. She continued to stare at me, as if she had no
idea what I was saying.
"…A name….you know…um…what people call you by…" I replied as I did some hand gestures in hope of getting her to understand.
"…Oh…hea noria Sarti Royali…" she replied, I stared at her, still not knowing what she just said. She pointed her finger to herself
slowly. "…Sarti…Sarti Royali…"
Oh I guess her first name is Sarti and last name is Royali, what an unusual first and last name. She must not be from Felarya at all. Kind of
like Aurora isn't a Felaryan naïve.
Sarti continued to look at me a little bit, after a few seconds she just went back to playing her instrument. It looked similar to a mix
between a Violin, a lute and a guitar. It was completely white which the exception of what I assume to be the tuning nob things, which was a
goldish color. It sounded very beautiful, not like any instrument I have ever heard before. I stood a bit and listened to her play, she played
very well. The song that she was playing was very harmonic, it repeated the same theme over and over again, but it was kind of catchy. After
a bit I found myself humming to it.
The girl looked up at me after I started humming, she had a tiny smile on her face.
"…tabeya he dochiri haa o mami…" she said to me, I of course have no idea what she was saying, but I guess she realized that. She took
out a little paper and a paintbrush and painted something on it. She handed it to me and I looked at it. On it was two stick figures, one taller
than the other, the shorter one being really tiny, my guessing was so post to be a child. The taller figure seemed to have a dress on as did the
shorter one. Also he tall one had music notes near her head, I guess she is so post to be singing.
"…I am making a wild guess here….but…you are trying to tell me…someone…a woman specifically…sang this song to you?..." I replied.
"…Mami…" she replied. I wonder what "Mami" meant. Sounds somewhat like "Mommy". I guess that would make a little sense. Perhaps the
picture she drew was her as a child and the other figure was her mother singing to her.
Right then she started playing again, the same song as before but she started singing. Her voice was so beautiful, it was so grand. It was
like her voice was blessed by the angels. It was soothing and had somewhat of a strange echo to it. Like it was supernatural or something of
that sort. Her singing was so beautiful, that the people passing by suddenly just stopped and listened. It truly was a wondrous sight, everyone
just suddenly stopped doing what they were doing, cutting off from their busy lives to listen to this girl's song. Even if the lyrics to the song
were completely foreign to me, it was truly spectacular. I listen closely, listening to every pitch and word in her song.

She then stopped singing. Everyone around me began to clap and I joined it. Some of the people tossed a few coins into the hat before
they went on to continue their business. The song repeats her name a lot of times, I wonder if this song was some sort of lullaby or something
for Sarti, or a song the mother sang to express her love for her daughter. Either way it is truly a pretty song and she truly does have a
beautiful voice.
"…Bravo…that was truly amazing!...." I said to her as I clapped a little. She gave a tiny smile. She then looked up as a man came out of
the building she was in front. He was dressed similarly as the Sarti's. I am guessing he is some sort of bard. The man walked over to Sarti and
lifted up the hat.
"…Oh you actually made some money…very good Sarti…" he said to her as he took the money from the hat and put into a leather pouch
and zipped it closed. "…alright money buns, lets head out, perhaps we can reach Nekomura in a day or two and get some cash there…"
"Sarti stood up as she placed the strap on her instrument around herself. She looked over to me and stared at me a little bit, as if she
wanted to say something.
"…come on Sharti…we aren't going to make much more here…" the man said out as he gave Sharti a gentle nudge. Sharti turned around
and walked away with the man into the crowd. I guess Sharti must be in a traveling Bard thing with that man, the man had a Violin and a
Clarinet, I wonder if he is just as good as Sharti is when it comes to playing. There is no dought in my mind that Sharti is the singer. She is the
best singer I have ever heard, and that from hearing only one song.
I sighed to myself, I guess I better head over to Aurora's now, I don't want to keep her waiting, she gets worried really quick when I am
late. Hopefully I don't bump into Hitomi along the way. Those encounters aren't always good for me.

| Part 2
Night was falling on this warm Felaryan day as I was walking back from my stay at
Aurora's. A lot of progressed was made, I added some touch up on the JBHS device I am
working on as well as learned a few new movies from my work out with Aurora. I know Aurora
doesn't use any form of martial arts or anything but I have seen her fight, and she is really
good at what she does. Also it doesn't hurt to learn from Miss T and Aurora, occasionally
Hitomi when she feels like it. I could maybe mix both Miss T Elvin Fighting Style and Aurora's
fighting style and make up my very own. Maybe if I did that I would be a lot less of a push
over when it comes to confrontations. No one would want to mess with me once I get my
hands down on all this fighting stuff hehe, well at least the human size people, I am sure
martial arts wouldn't really help me when it comes to giant predators like Aurora. That's why I
got my trusty plasma rod, nothing hurts more than glowing hot plasma.
As I walked, I had to be a little careful, I may be close to the city but that doesn't mean
that I am not in danger. There are not only nasty predators running around here, but bandits
as well. I try to keep to the main path so I can get a good view on what's around me, paying
close attention to the noises around me. I also have to make sure I don't trigger one of
Aurora's traps, since she likes to place them on main road ways so she can get a decent meal.
After walking for a bit, I started to hear an unusual sound. Nothing like the typical rain
forest sounds I normally hear around here, it was pretty sounding. I closed my eyes so I
could focus more on the sound I was hearing, after a bit of listening, I realize it was singing.
Oddly enough, I recognized he voice, but I have no idea where I have heard this specific kind
of singing. I listened around a bit more, and found myself, unintentionally moving towards it.
Like my own body was in control of some outside force. I fallowed the mysterious singing
unknowingly, traveling through the thicket towards the direction Negav. After a bit of
moving, I came to what I always assumed to be the river that was around Negav. I was
shocked to see a lone woman near the end of the water, which is odd because I though the
Negavians would have made sure no Mermaids lived in the water sources near Negav. As I
got closer, I began to recognize the singing coming from the lone person, it seemed very
familiar, beautiful sounding, as if it was from supernatural.
After getting closer, I began to see who the person in the water was more clearly. It
was a lone girl, about 20 years old. She had long blue curly hair that seemed almost sky like,
shifting from blue to a light blue-whitish color in certain areas. She seemed to be bathing in
the river, which I find completely odd. I never would have thought anyone in their right minds
would do something like this, I mean, isn't she afraid of perverted people just watching her.
I'm used to Aurora running around naked but never would have thought someone near Negav
would.
After a bit, I then began to recognize the girl in front of me, after gazing at her unusual
hair and mystical voice, I remembered back to about 3 weeks ago when I met a woman by the
name of Sarti, singing for money on the streets. Could this person be her?
Before I could think on it more, the girl turned around and looked right at me. It was
Sarti, I could tell by her pale blue eyes. She stopped singing and just stared at me, but she
didn't really seem to bother covering herself, which I would expect a normal person to.
"…oh…um…hey…remember me?..." I said out. Sarti just stared blankly at me for a bit,
maybe she doesn't remember me at all, it has been 3 weeks after all. After an awkward
silence, she stood up from the water, her pales skin glinting in the moonlight. She then began
to make her way towards me till she reached the shore.
"…Oh…Ishi meikence jiencild…" she said to me. Again, this was all gibberish to me, but it
seems she have recognized me, judging from expression on her face. She smiled and hoisted
herself out of the water, revealing the rest of her nude body, it felt a bit awkward for me but
I shrugged off the feeling.
"…I am taking that as a yes…um…why are you in the river…um…naked…aren't you
scared someone is watching you?...I mean…the city IS right there…" I said to the strange girl
in front of me. She tilted her head in confusion as she stared at me with her piercing blue
eyes, water still dripping off her long curly hair.
"…metashi neha nai cunnaikenai…" she replied back to me. It is very difficult to speak to
this unusual women, she doesn't seem to understand a single word I say to her. I have to
wonder though, I thought Felarya had this effect where everyone could understand one
another, yet I can't understand a thing she says and she can't understand me. I wonder why
that is.
"…it doesn't matter um…I just wanted to know why you were here…it is dangerous for
someone to be all alone when in the Jungles of Felarya…" I said to her. She stared at me with
an odd expression on her face. She had this odd smile as she pointed at me, then realize that
she was pointing to me, showing I was alone in the jungle too.
"…oh…me…um…I was returning from my friend's place…she lives out here…" I said
back. She stared at me blankly and I let out a big sigh. "You haven't a clue what I am saying…
don't you?..."
Instead of a reply from her, I heard a bunch of laughter from out in the distance. Sarti
and I looked over at the origins of the voices. There were a group of suspicious looking men
coming towards us. They all had dark clothes on, making them able to easily hide in the
shadows. Were these men spying on Sarti?
"Well well well…what do we have here?..." one of the men said out as they began to
circle us.
"…looks like a pretty little dame and a little brat…" another one said out
"…What do you guys want?...We don't want any trouble…" I said out. All the men
began to laugh out loud.
"…Oh the little brat is trying to be all tough now is she?...well then…let's just get to the
point then…we all are bandits…so just hand over your stuff and we will be on our way…" one
of them said out before shoving me into one of the other men, who grabbed my arm roughly.
"…Ack…let go you big jerk!..." I yelled out as I tried my best to break free, but he was
much too strong for me and grabbed hold of me before I could possibly fight back.
"…a feisty one you are…" he said out. One of the men walked over to my bag and
began looking, tossing out the gadgets I have worked hard on like they were worthless. I
then looked over to Sarti who was completely motionless and had a completely straight face,
as if she wasn't terrified about the situation we were in. A few of the men walked behind her
and leaned towards her face.
"So what is your name pretty lady?..." one of them said as the men walked slowly
around her, staring at her naked body. It made me sick, seeing these perverts with Sarti. The
scary part is that Sarti remain completely still, emotionless, as if she was completely
unaffected in any way. She just continued to stare blankly at who knows what.
Right then, one of the men pulled out the mini safe that I built to keep the precious
items safe. The man fiddled with it to try to open it, but he couldn't figure out the combination
to open it. He then brought it over to me.
"…what's in the box missy?..." he said to me.
"…definitely not something for you…" I said back. The man just shook his head and let
out a little laugh.
"…I don't think you are in the situation to play games missy…now just open the box like
a good little girl…." He replied.
"…no way…I am not opening it for the likes of you…" I said back.
"…It's a shame…I guess I'll just have to take a little more now…how about these…" the
man said back with a sinister smile. Right then he reached forward and ripped the pendent
that Aurora gave me from around make neck.
"…oh this is a pretty pendent…I am sure you won't miss it…" He laughed. I lunged
towards the man but the other bandit held me back.
"…GIVE THAT BACK!!..." I cried out. The man just laughed and looked back at me.
"…and what is that I see…a golden pendent…with a nice red gem on it…I wonder how
much that would fetch in the Negav black market…" he said out as he reach over and plucked
my hairpiece from my hair.
"…YOU MONSTER...GIVE THAT BACK…THAT IS MY MOTHERS!..." I screamed out as I
tried my best to break free.
"…awwww…the baby doesn't want to lose her mommy's precious hair clip…maybe you
should have opened that box for us…" she said back to me. He then looked over at the other
men who were still staring at Sarti. "…lets go…we are bringing this girl with us…sooner or later
she will have to open that box…"
"…and what about this dame sir?..." one of the other bandits said out.
"…bring her along…I'm sure you all can have your fun with her…if you know what I
mean…" the leader laughed. All the bandits began to laugh as the man forced my hands
behind my back and shoved me forward. The other men took Sarti's arms, but she made no
attempt to fight back, she just let them push her around, but continue to have her straight
face. Doesn't she realize they is happening, and what they have planned for her?
Thirty minutes has passed since we were abducted by the bandits. They took us to their
camp site and tied my hands behind my back with zip ties, but they didn't tie up Sarti. They
gave her a blanket to cover herself with before leaving us in one of the tents with one of the
bandits keep watch over us as the others look through all my things. I still can't believe that,
JERK took the pendent Aurora gave me and my hair piece. I have to get those back, but I
can't, being all tied back. I have to think of something, who knows what they are going to do
with us after they are done with everything. It's far worse for Sarti though, I know what they
plan to do with her, but why isn't she afraid? She is just sitting in the corner with the blanket
around her body, still naked.
I looked over to the bandit who seemed to be looking out the tent towards his
comrades. While he was distracted, I moved closer to Sarti and leaned towards her.
"…Sarti…we have to get out of here…" I whispered to her. Sarti didn't ream to respond
to me what so ever.
"…Sarti…Sarti we have to get out of here now…those men…they…they plan to do
horrible things…and I have to get my stuff back…they…they are very dear to me…please
Sarti…respond…" I said out.
"…shut the hell up…who said you can speak!..." the bandit suddenly said out. I quickly
turned towards him, seeing him coming towards me and grabbing my collar and lifted me off
my feet.
"…we told you to stay quiet until we speak to you!..." he yelled at me. He then dropped
me, causing me to fall onto my back painfully. I tried my best to sit upright again, but it was
very difficult since my arms art tied behind my back. As soon as I sat upright, the bandit
kicked me on the side, making me fall over in pain.
"…that'll teach you…not just sit there and be a good little girl…" he said to me.
Right then, I saw Sarti stand up, turning the bandits attention away from me.
"…Hey you…who said you can move!..." he cried out. Sarti slowly turned towards the
bandit, looking at him with her blank stare.
"…sit back down before I…" before the man could finish, Sarti began to walk slowly
towards them man, dropping the blanket she had that covered her body onto the floor,
reveling her naked body.
"…what are you doing?..." the bandit said to her. Sarti stepped closer to the bandit,
singing a soft, haunting melody. Her voice almost seemed as if was echoing with some sort of
haunting energy. She continued to sing as she moved closer to the bandit, and eventually
she was directly in front of him. The bandit seemed completely frozen with aw, staring at her
as if he was in love, almost trance like. Sarti slowly lifted her and gently placed it on the
bandit's cheek, slowly moving her fingers across the man's face and onto his lips. She tiled her
head as she grew closer to the man's face, who was completely frozen by her elegance,
drawing him into a kiss. What is she doing, why is she kissing the person who kidnapped us,
the people who plan on, using her.
Suddenly, the bandit's eyes widened as if he just saw a ghost. His eyes started glowing
as be appeared to look like he was trying to pull away from Sarti's kiss, but couldn't. What in
the world is going on. After a few seconds, Sarti pulled away from the bandit, who remained
completely still with his eyes widened. He then fell onto the floor, completely limp. I grew
terrified. What did Sarti do to him, he doesn't appear to be breathing or anything. Is he, is he
dead? Did Sarti somehow, kill him?
Sarti then looked over at me with her cold blank stare, as if the man suddenly dropping
dead in front of her had no affect on her what so ever. I grew scared, who is this person,
what did she do to that man?. Sarti leaned down and picked up a knife that was attach to the
man's belt and slowly walked over to me. My heat began to be faster as she came closer to
me with the dagger in her hands. Is she going to kill me too? I began to panic as I tried to
push myself back, only to be back up against the end of the tent. I looked up at Sarti, seeing
that she stopped in front of me. She pointed at me and gestured me to turn around. Not
know what she was planning, I turned around slowly, closing my eyes tightly. I felt her move
the dagger and press it up on my back and the tip of the knife went towards my lower back.
Then I heard a soft snap. I opened my eyes, realizing that my hands were now free. She had
cut me lose from the zip ties that the bandits put on me.
"…Yi safariha…." She said to me with a soft elegant smile, being completely different
from when she was, the best way I can say it, seducing that bandit. She seems completely
different now, as if she has a completely different personality. This Sarti character has a lot
of mysteries about her, but now it isn't the time to think about that. I have to get my stuff
back and find a way out of here.
"…Th…thanks Sarti…" I said back to her as I hoisted myself up and wiped the dirt off of
my hoody. "…but…we still need to get out of here…and if we just walk out of this tent…they
will surely overwhelm us again…"
Sarti stared at me for a bit, before a smile went on her face. She walked over to me and
took my hand gently, placing the dagger that she took from the bandit into my palm.
"…Metashi hanaru beartto…"she said to me in her unusual language. I still didn't
understand a single thing she was trying to say to me. She turned around and let out her
hand, creating a blinding ball of light around it for a moment. A second later, familiar clothing
appeared in her hands. It was the same clothing she was wearing the last time saw her. Was
she planning to change in such a dire situation as this?
"…Sarti…we don't have time to waste now…they could find out that we broke free any
moment now…we have to go…and fast!..." I said back to her. She seemed to be ignoring my
words, humming to herself a familiar melody as she casually got dressed, the same melody
she sang when I met her back in Negav.
"…Ok fine…you do what you are doing…I'll go alone!..." I said back before heading out
of tent, quickly sneaking to the back of it before anyone could see me. I moved quietly in the
back of the campsite, scouting the area as I moved through the shadows. There were 8
bandits scattered through the camp. Some of them just mingling to each other as the others
were gathered about my safe, trying their best to figure out how to open it. Towards the
back I saw one of the bandits, looking through my bag where I kept all my trinkets. I need to
get that back if I have any hopes of getting my hairpiece and Pendent. Sure I could just run
for it now, but I would never be able to live with myself know I lost the only thing I have to
know my mother by, and Aurora would be devastated if I lost her precious pendent. Its
already a lot that Aurora has to put up with me, I don't want to put her though much more.
A few moments later, I was finally near where the bandit with my bag was. Fortunately
I don't think anyone has seen me make my way over here, seeing how they were still
continuing on their business.
"…This brat sure has some unusual crap with her…" the bandit said out as he tossed out
some more of my stuff out of my bag, without a care of how much time I put to make those, it
really frustrates me. Slowly and carefully, I moved closer behind him, being careful not to
make any noise. If he knew I was here, he could alert the others and I would be in so much
trouble.
Just then, I heard a snapping sound, realizing I just stepped on a twig…
"…huh?..." the bandit said has he began to turn around. The second his eyes met mine,
I lashed out and stabbed him upwards at the bottom of the jaw and twisted the dagger as
hard as I could. The bandit let out a short "ack", and a second later, he fell limp. I grabbed
the man's arms and tried to pull him back behind some bushes so the other won find him. I
struggled a bit, him being much larger than me, but I managed to pull him behind the bushes
after a bit of tugging. I snatched up the bag in his hands and looked through his person to
see if there was anything that could help me. Before I could, I heard shouting from the
distance.
"…Sir…the two girls that we captured are gone…and the guy we left to watch them is
dead!..." the voice said out. My eyes widened, I was hoping it would take them longer to
figure out what's going on. Though he said that both of the girls are gone, does that mean
Sarti wasn't in there as well? She must have got out before they found her.
"…Bah…that brat!...search the area…they couldn't have gone far…we can't let them
get to Negav…if they do…they could ruin our entire operation!..." the leader cried out. All the
bandits began to move about the camp, trying to find me and Sarti. I have no idea where
Sarti may have gone, probably fled away towards Negav. That is what I would have done,
but I have to get that pendent and hairpiece back. I threw my bag over my shoulder and
quickly made my way through the camp area, I can't stay in a spot for too long or else they
will find me no problem, but I need to think of a plan on how to deal with this situation. I can't
fight all of them at once, even with the training that Ti-yen, Aurora and Hitomi gave me. A
little girl such as myself can only do so much, and I know when I am at a disadvantage,
especially being outnumbered and all. If Aurora was here, she'd just smash her ail on these
guys and that would end that, but I can't rely on her now, she's probably fast asleep by now.
