Alex has had a very dramatic life even before he arrived on Felarya. His home world was Earth 162, a dimensional crossroad earth dominated by magic. On this world humans were dwindling in population due to a rare gene that would transform them into a magic based hybrid during their teenage years(the transformation was always random and not everyone had this gene). Humans always feared hybrids and had become very cruel towards them, forcing hybrids by law to blend into the human population or face severe punishment. This devastated Alex when he started his transformation in front of his human friends and family when he turned 17, and they turned their backs on him. The next day he received a letter from Salem Academy for the Gifted, a school designed to help hybrids control their abilities and blend in with the humans without hiding who they truly were. Seeing the academy as his only option he accepted.

His two years at the academy were certainly eventful, but with all the exciting things he experienced he still felt like an outcast. But nothing he experienced compared to what he discovered in the forest during a survival exam. Deep within an underground cavern he discovered an emerald that contained Orobus, a servant of Gentleman Fate, guardian of order. Orobus revealed that his soul was sealed away after fighting in a war millennia ago against Madame Chaos, guardian of chaos. In order to escape his prison he needed to reunite with his body, which was placed in a slumber somewhere in a dimension known as Felarya. He agreed to help Orobus, hoping that Felarya may be the place where he could live without being casted aside.

He currently resides in a temporary outpost on Mt Egarim of deeper felarya (description of location will come later

Personality

Alex is rather mixed emotional, for having such a troubled past he seems to have a positive outlook on life.

While most people judged others on his homworld by their outward appearance, Alex prefers to judge by how they are on the inside, on how a person really feels and behaves. It dosent matter if you're a human, a harpie, or even a giant naga, if you are a good person at heart Alex will respect you and try to make friends with you

Alex loves to have fun and to have a good time above anything else. "if you're not having fun, then what's the point of living?" this belief makes him a real kid at heart, so he loves to make people laugh and smile by telling jokes or pulling a pranks (his pranks get him into allot of trouble though). Mixed with his caring nature, optimism, and childish heart, this may lead some into believing he is naive and unfocused jokester. When you know get to know him, you realize that this is not true, and that he is allot more clever than he appears.

While most Pyrotile's have short tempers, it's very difficult to make Alex angry. He doesn't budge if he's insulted or if someone tries to pick a fight with him, though he will defend himself if need be. The surest ways to upset him is to harm one of his friends or call him a failure.

If a friend is threatened Alex will get very angry and loses all restraint... in other words, you'd better start digging your grave.

He has a slight paranoia that if he made a mistake then he would have committed a crime and be a complete failure to everyone. He also worries more about other people's well being than his own, so calling him a failure will send him in a fit and he'll run off. Rachel is the only person that can calm him down if this occurs, but if she's not around he can get over it by the end of the day, but will still feel a little uneasy the next day

Alex has a strange fascination for flying and would give anything to fly with nothing but the air beneath him... unfortunately he seems to be conflicted by a slight sense of vertigo, so when his mind says "you can fly" his body responds saying "no way in hell you can't".

Abilities
•As a Pyrotyle, Alex has the ability to control fire. On his shoulder blades are rune circles that vent the excess heat of his fire powers from his body in the form of short flame bursts, these vents can also act as a source of fire for Alex to manipulate at his command.
•His senses are amplified from a normal human level, meaning he can see, hear, smell and hear farther and more accurately than a human can.
•he has a limited predator sense to the extent that he can only sense when danger is close by. Because of Felarya's energy he can't pinpoint exactly what the danger is, but he can tell how big it is and where it is at.

FOR FURTHER REFERENCE:
Salem academy and earth 162 is just a starting point for my character and has nothing to do with felarya. it will be discarded one he leavs it.

So, it's basically the X-man universe; except with magic. The Salem Academy is sounds like Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters: Magic world edition.
There's a difference between drawing inspiration for something and pretty much copying it exactly.

I see this everywhere. Absolutely everywhere. Even otherwise good writers like Mr Nobody have done this.
"This" being giving characters, no matter what other traits they may have, the "fights for their friends" or "will do anything for their friends" trait. It's unjustified, there's no explanation.

These don't sound like scales, they sound like they're kevlar. It appears you're trying to remove guns and melee weapons as a threat to this character, but you know that would be overpowered, so you've mentioned that sniper rifles, etc still hurt. I'd suggest scrapping this. if you want him to be resistant to bullets and swords, he can get amour or something.

The predator sense is not like radar. At all. It gives a naga or fairy a hunch that there's something around. For those that have spent time and effort training themselves, it can give a stronger feeling. It's not lolnaturalradar.
Also, no explanation for this given either.

So, being a Pyrotile gives him this? Do all the other magic hybrid species on Earth 162 have these enhanced senses?

Never mind......

I wonder why people come here and post their characters and whine and cry flaming whenever someone points out that something might be wrong or doesn't work.

@AXH, you need to give your character more vices. Have him bitter after his family turned him away. Also, forget the school. If this is going to be a felaryan character then have him warp to felarya after a efw years of being discriminated against. Don't give up just because people responded with criticism to your work - take what they've said and use it to make a better character.
