| (I wasn't quite sure if I should post this here, in the stories subforum, or in one of the ideas subforums, so if any of you mods feel like this should be moved, feel free to.) I just kind of wanted to create a thread where we could pay respects to the ideas and stories we've had that either died or never entirely saw life, be they bad ideas abandoned for good reason, good ideas that never saw the light of day, or stories that died an early death due to neglect caused by the author's other personal issues. After all, it is my philosophy that the death of any idea, even a bad one, is a sad thing, and should be treated with the respect, even if the idea itself wouldn't have deserved any had it been implemented. So, to start, I'll post one of my bad ideas that I abandoned out of common sense. It was the first idea I ever had: a crossover that I thought would be thematically appropriate. Problem is, it really, really wasn't. I won't go into too much detail, as to allow the idea to have some dignity in its death, but it involved a rather overpowered main character, a near-apocalyptic "save the world" scenario, and the involvement of one of the Guardians of Felarya. I didn't exactly know much about the general themes and guidelines to the setting, and when I started to learn more about the setting than from the little information I had skimmed over, I realized that the very concept sounded like a rather bad fan fiction, and, in an act of tragic mercy, let the idea die before I could see it suffer. A bit melodramatic, I know, but this experience helped me learn how to form better ideas, so it did serve a purpose, if not the one I intended. | |

| You gave up on that comic Claire?
Pity, it had such potential.

| I would like to pay respects to my race idea, the Narez. People actually seemed to like them, strangely enough...
Also everything else I tried to put in Felarya.
Though at least a little bit of the stuff just migrated to my own fictional universe.

| Idea funeral? Meh, there's only Felaryan Madness, that sort of crossover with my webcomic that ended up being a big mess. I know some people - even Karbo - liked it, but I was feeling a bit uneasy with it, like I was doing more harm than good to Felarya with it. So that's why, once I get back to writing stories, will focus in 100% Felarya, not silly crossovers. | |

| I had an idea for this "highlander"esque predator. Then I realized it defeated the point of a predator. Didn't even get a thread. | |
