Not an RP, but instead, something I'd like to say.

Ok guys and girls. Some of you know me. Some of you don't. But that doesn't matter.

I'd like to take this time to say something. ALL of the RP's I've EVER been in on this site have abruptly ended. Some don't even get more than 10 pages before they suddenly, and without warning, kick the bucket. Strangely, alot of the time, my post is the final one before the end. So I know it isn't my fault.

I bet alot of you feel the same. Sure I can understand if an RP gets stale and everyone decides to abandon it, but I'm talking about a perfectly good RP that suddenly gets abandoned by EVERYONE. I'm sure alot of you feel my pain.

But you see, I love this world. Felarya. Just the name fills me with delight. But I come to this forum for RP's. Stories and fun little parody songs that I do are just things on the side. So that means that when an RP dies, I feel nothing binding me to this forum. I forget about my stories, or I lose the will to complete them and they fade into nothingness. I must have 3 or so stories that are not even close to being finished for this reason.

Heres my point. I love this place alot. I love the people here alot. But damnit wont anyone ever finish an RP?

So what I'm asking for is to be in an RP that will not abruptly end, and takes steps to insure that an abrupt end is avoidable.

Would someone please create an RP soon and be kind enough to make me a part of it? In fact, I would even create one myself! Don't worry, I learnt my lesson. Last time, I was FAR too ambitious for a first project and I blew it. But I have learnt much since then from RPing at other sites. I am even hosting an rp on another site right now! So I know I can do it. So whadda ya say guys? Want me to fire up the old brainbox and bring us all an RP that WILL NOT end suddenly. I'll take steps to ensure that it lasts until people are bored with it.

I feel your pain man. I think its mostly people don't maybe reply quick enough. then everybody just kind of sits there waiting for a reply but no one ever does. So they move on to the next RP.

I understand entirely, and should you begin a role play that you think will last, I will be more than willing to join in if deemed worthy.

Well I'mma go to try and join Anime Junkie's RP but if that doesn't work out I'll whip up one of my own. ^^

I invite you to join Ella's Adventure Troop! I have myself experienced Sudden RP Death Syndrome and I intend to do whatever necessary to keep this one alive till the bitter end.

I have also noticed this trend.
I believe it is because there is no drive behind the roleplay. There is only so much you can do in one area of the forest/jungle/whatever. Eventually the roleplay has to move on. Thing is, there's nobody there to move it along. Instead, everyone moves along to the next roleplay.
This is why I made the Felarya GURPS roleplay; I wanted a roleplay that had structure, defined directions and actual locations. A role playing system allows a game master (me) to provide that structure.

The other reason was the near complete lack of any kind of combat organisation. In "freeform" roleplay, which is the kind that goes on in this forum with the exception of my GURPS roleplay; nobody ever loses. The character always has a trick up their sleeve or they dodge just in time or something else like that.
Using an RPG system like GURPS means that combat has meaning. Characters can lose, be injured or worse.

Above all; there are consequences for any action.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be taking any more players for this Felarya GURPS game. It is a lot of work for the game master.
However if someone else wants to run a Felarya GURPS campaign then I'll be happy to share the stats and other things I've worked out for the system.

Anyway, my thoughts are more directed to the fact that you said that your post was always the last one before it ended. That doesn't mean it's not your fault. Sure you were definitely trying to keep it going, but perhaps you didn't give the other players enough to work with? That happens sometimes, which is why whenever my RP slows down, I think of something else for the players to do, see? It usually works for me.

Well, I'll tell you what; I'm going to start the current GURPS Felarya campaign and get it on track, then I'll look into running another one for everyone who wanted to join the first.

This sounds fun, I've Game Mastered a few RP's but they all crumbled from simple errors. Any suggestions?

Agreed! Those three are awesome! XD hahaha but I'm good with joining another RP! XD hahaha I could always have more! since everyone is mentioning Game masttering I have too! XD It was pretty popular and made a good transition into a DnD game to boot! XD but sadly don't think I could try that again XD I have trouble keeping people from being OP ^//^ So I'm eager to join anyone else's game! XD

This is quite an old thread, so I don't think we're addressing the OP anymore, but yeah: join High School Silliness! It's fun and relaxed, and I'm determined to help it keep going.

I hat to complain, but if I had more participants, 'Riot in the Underground' might be moving along faster. I was kinda hoping for a better turnout than I got, (though who I have isn't bad) but it would help motivate me.
I originally had a system of stats and feats planned out, but scrapped it when I realized it would needlessly complicate things.

I'm intentionally setting the tone as grimdark, and will do everything in my power to make the players' lives a living hell: By the time the RP concludes, at least one of them should be dead. This is a dangerous world we're working out of, and it's not bad for an RP to reflect that.

I have Mortis as a character of course, but I also have Jack Derridge, a new guy I made last night and posted in char discussion. Either of those chars suitable?

Both should be okay because for the most part we have tweaked our characters to fit into the high school setting ^^. For Example my Character Saen was too old to be in high school, and was from a different world then Felarya one of utter peace and unity. So when I transfered him I made him younger and just home schooled until this point ^^ not sure how everyone changed thiers for that one though =o I really hope that was what you were asking and I didn't assume again! X<

Well my Forest of Illusions may work with either one just pick the best fitting class and trek off i need more people anyway
