The Great Expedition: The Story Continues With You!

[Hello everyone, this is probably going to be my last shot at RPing Felarya on this forum so let's hope for the best on this one. Luckily, unlike the other RPs that I failed to think through, I actually have an open plot (though vague) for people to go by. For those of you wondering, this is based off of the story I wrote here, and is continuing the series in RP form, though that doesn't necessarily mean that I'm going to stop writing my story. If you're interested in wanting to know about my 3 main characters from my story that I'll be using in this RP, look for The Great Expedition, in the Story thread of the forum. This RP is going to start off where my characters dock on the shores of Miragia Forest. So yea, same rules, no eating/killing others without my permission, post your OC's profile first before anything else. I'll make the first post after a few people join]

Clothing/Equipment: Wears blue jeans with black enchanted boots. Wears a blue long sleeve shirt under a black leather vest, the inside of it lined with throwing knives and a few grenades. He also carried two swords with him katana style, and a hidden knife in his sleeve, he also carries a flare gun for emergencies.

Abilities/Skills: Lance's boot are very useful in combat and running away from threats. They allow his movement to be sped up significantly where normal humans and nekos cannot keep up with his movements. Giant Predators have a better chance of catching him and seeing up due to the overhead view and the wider range of vision, which makes avoiding them a game of speed, not combat. He is very skilled at duel swordplay, having been practicing at a young age and perfecting it upon his first few years in Felarya. He is fluid in his movements and can easily defeat anyone who is to broad in their attacks or movements, especially with his footwork which is sped up significantly because of his boots. The strength enchancement allows his kicks to deal devestating damage.

Personality: He is a brilliant thinker and opportunist, taking advantage of any situation he thinks he could profit from and using his envoirnment to his advantage. Lance is talented at fighting but tends to avoid it as he hates the sensation of pain. He is cunning enough to know when he can weasel his way out of a situation without force. He is not He is very afraid of spiders, dridders included and avoid them at all costs, known to scream very high pitched when seeing them. Lance is also quite indifferent to others suffering, finding it easier to taunt the one causing the suffering in a playful manner to ease his own tension. He is not afraid to admit his own survival skills may include dishonest or cowardly tactics, whether it be using cheap tricks, blackmail, or even other lives, he is always willing to bargain to save his own life and does not mind seeing other humans or prey races die in his place, taking pride in the fact he is alive, and they are not. He has an unhealthy lack of fear for predators, approaching them like friends and willing to chat for lengthy period, under no impression that he could be eaten, even trusting predators he may have befriended to approach them unarmed, or without his boots, or protection of another predator.

Backstory: Lance was born in Felarya in the city of Negav. His mother raised him alone from a young age as his father abandoned them to join a band of slavers. They lived in poverty for most of his life and when he turned 14 he became sick of the constant lack of food and the general bitterness of most of his fellow humans. He fled Negav and took to a life in the wild, knowing its dangers full well from the stories of traders and mercenaries who traveled through Negav. Lance survived as he had his whole life, he used his brain. He recognized a dangerous situation before most people could, and as a result he avoided many non-sentient predators and carnivorous plants. Food was an easier issue in the wild, berries and food from the packs of dead travelers fueled him for a little over 2 years. But at 16 he met his first Sentient Predator, a fairy. She introduced herself as Alexa and they talked for sometime about common thingsd about them, wings, hair color, Lance's very deep green eyes, before she declared her intentions, to bring him home, show off, and eat him. Lance really had no choice in the matter as she had shrunk him and was carried to her home deep in the jungle. Alexa's sister, Kaitlyn, upon seeing how young Lance was she became angered, telling Alexa to let her go. Lance remained silent through the spat, being taken by force from Alexa and hid in Kaitlyn's private "getaway." Lance and Kaitlyn became friends, and despite offers from Kaitlyn to guide him he never wished to return to Negav. They clashed several times over conflicting views on the nature of Felarya. Lance having used it to his advantage before from taking packs of dead adventurers. But despite their differences they became very close friends, and not long after they fell in love. This was appalling to everyone in the family besides Alexa, who actually liked Lance, despite having tried to eat him. Kaitlyn's eldest sister tried to kill Lance but they fled into the forest. Feyweed began to affect Kaitlyn and her sister to the point where they were drawn far to close to it, Lance, who was normal sized, easily saved Kaitlyn from the Feyweed but allowed her sister to be eaten by the flower, much to his amusement. After that Kaitlyn thanked Lance for saving him and they departed together and have been partners ever since. Alexa being the only member of the family they still talk to.

Clothing/Equipment: Wears animal furs as she finds clothing restrictive, they are enchanted to grow or shrink in size when she used her magic. She carries no equipment on her.
Predation: Safe

Abilities/Skills: Kaitlyn is a good flyer and very skilled at size shifting magic. Her physical strength is lacking but her magical skills are very adept, able to use fire, water, ice, wind, electricity and the Earth itself as he weapons, though she does not use them often, prefering non-lethal methods of restrining her opponents.

Personality: Kaitlyn is very kind and generous, refusing to eat any sentient being and is largely vegetarian, refusing to feed on most animals unless she is very hungry. She has an even temperament and is usually Lance's voice of reason due to her calm thinking under pressure and knowledge of Felarya that Lance lacks. She is also quite vein when regarding herself, very self-conscious about her looks and always wanting to look her best. She is easily insulted and is quick to tears, tending to buckle when people hit her soft spots emotionally or strike a "low blow."

Backstory: Kaitlyn was born into a normal fairy family. She had 4 sisters, a mother and an absent father that she has never met or even heard his name. She grew up as an outcast, no one in her family paying attention to her because from a young age, since she was old enough to, she refused to eat humans, nekos or anything of the sort. She claimed they looked just like her and were not food, refusing to resort to "cannibalism" as she called it. She was distance from her family further upon seeing her sisters shrink and eat a human family, mother, father, and children. She called them monsters and brawled with them momentarily until their mother broke it up. She has not spoken a word to 3 of her sisters since that day. At the age of 13 she met Lance, who was 16 at the time. Her sister Alexa brought him home to show her mother, Lance being Alexa's first catch. Kaitlyn having this being the snapping point, since Alexa was the only one she was still close to, took Lance from her and hid him from everyone. After a few years they fell in love witch prompted her oldest sister to try to eat Lance. Lance and Kaitlyn ran as she tried to attack him, running for hours through the forest, but both Kaitlyn and her sister were trapped by a Feyweed's aroma, Kaitlyn being saved by Lance but her sister being quickly devoured. Lance and Kaitlyn ran away that day, never returning back there and have been partners ever since.

On the shores of the Miragia Forest, the expeditionary forces of Ucento Ab Col landed their worn out cruiser onto the sandy beaches. Exhausted and tired, many of them walked onto the beaches and had a little side picnic, rather than keeping watch of any predators in the area.

Alister Smiley, who was watching them slack off the entire time, growled at them with disgust as he turned around to face Professor Sidonis Langsley. "Do you see this Langsley? They're weak-minded fools, all of them... we just barely survived an attack by some giant elf woman and they think they can relax at a time like this!" he protested with a slam of his fist against the wall.

Langsley, who was too busy reading the deceased captain's journal, merely shooed the issue away with a wave of his hand. "Hm yes quite, well better to relax now than later when we do get attacked... just let them have their fun Al"

"How can you say that?! Our guard is down! We could be killed at anytime by anything!... Just what is that journal good for anyway? For all we know, any information on that journal could be very well be a liability... especially since it was written by some salty old captain who died on this very ship..." muttered Smiley with a scowl.

Langsley chuckled softly, not even taking his eyes off of his journal. "Did you know that Fairies?... Yes Fairies... have the ability to shrink their prey to eat them? HAHAHA! How interesting indeed! To think that a mythical creature could be so... psychopathic as well as mischievious... I'm liking this new world already" he said with a grin that placed Smiley in an unsettling disposition.

Smiley shuddered a bit. "What goes on in your head, I'll never want to know... where's that Commander brat?" he asked looking around.

"Ah yes, the child, Julius de Gama? I told him to head on into the woods first to scout... he has quite the amazing gift with that eye of his..." Langsley closed the journal and looked at his pocketwatch. "Oh dear... it seems he's been out just a tad bit longer than instructed... Well! Shall we mobilize and fetch him?" suggested Langsley with an excited grin.

Smiley sighed a bit in frustration and followed Langsley off the ship. He looked towards the armoured soldiers with a cold stare and a frightening scowl. "HEY! If you idiots are done being children, GET IN LINE AND LET'S MOVE!" he barked.

The remaining 47 soldiers (3 were killed at the start) quickly complied and got their supplies and weapons ready as they marched off into the woods, following Smiley and Langsley.

Meanwhile, in the woods, Julius had been knocked unconscious when he tripped over a twig. Groaning a bit, he slowly woke from his slumber and began rubbing his head gently at the small bruise. He looked around his surroundings, a bit frightened and worried that he may have gone a bit too far from the group and that the rest of them left the ship without even bothering to search for him.

"Ohhhh this is baaaaad" he muttered anxiously as he paced back and forth, thinking on what to do next.

Unbeknownst to the two particular men, their group had picked up a new member, a girl known as Ty Ty. Having joined in the men's picnic earlier, she heeded directions that someone - she assumed her master - had just given out, and now marched alongside the soldiers, carrying her two brown paper grocery bags as always as she was hidden in the crowd of people.

[Out of curiosity, is she wearing one of their uniforms? or did they at least gave a piece of their own to give her a full suit? or is she just marching without disguises?]

(She's marching without a disguise. O.o I hope I didn't mess up!)

[Waiting on Shadow]

The crusier had been spotted from the nearby forest by Lance, who watching them go through their activities, chuckling as the one he presumed as the leader yelled at them. Lance jumped down from the tree he sat in, landing next to Kaitlyn, his fairy lover.

"I think we should say hi, be nice to hear a different voice." Lance saod to Kaitlyn with a playful smile, getting a slap in the shoulder from her.

"I guess, they look a bit spent to be honest." Ksitlyn frowned, able to tell they hsd been through a rough patch. "I just hope they don't run and scatter when they see me..."

As Langsley led the group west deeper into the woods, he took a glance behind him and saw an unfamiliar creature walking along with us. He chuckled a bit and turned to face Smiley. "It seems we have a stray dog walking among us~" said Langsley with amusement.

Smiley quickly turned around to see the inu walking with them. Upon closer inspection of her movements and how she was postured, he could tell that she was not even organic. "That's no inu... that's... an android" he muttered as he prepared a destruction spell with his hands.

Langsley grabbed at Smiley's wrist and shook his head at him disapprovingly. "Not here, not while your magic could easily take out our own men in the process... besides, it doesn't seem like she means harm" he mused.

"That's what we thought last time, and now 3 of our men have to suffer a slow death in stomach acid or whatever the hell is inside those monsters!" protested Smiley.

"Ahhh but she is not a giant now is she? Besides, we are guests here on this world... if we are to make this mission a success without significant costs, then it is best for us to NOT make a bad impression on the locals by killing everything we see" explained Langsley as he turned his head to look back at the inu. He gave her a fascinated smile and chuckled at how rare this event was. "Bring her over here would you? I'd like to get to know her better... perhaps she could provide some more information about this... Felarya"

Smiley sighed with frustration and nodded. As he walked back to the inu robot and grabbed her shoulder, he caught the presence of 2 people, one of them being a magic user. He scowled a bit, let go of the inu's metallic shoulder and snapped his fingers. The other soldiers looked at each other confused and stopped in their tracks.

Langsley stopped a few seconds afterwards and looked back at Smiley. "Is there a problem old chap?"

"... All units, garrison in defensive positions. We're being followed by potential threats" ordered Smiley.

Langsley chuckled a bit louder. This day just seemed to get more exciting for the old professor. "Well now! You sure know how to make a first impression Smiley! Having ourselves ready to fight when there are merely people watching? Tsk tsk, where are your manners?"

"You grossly underestimate the inhabitants of this world Professor" said Smiley as he prepared himself for any attack. "Come out whoever you are! I know you're out there!"

After Smiley let go of her shoulder, Ty Ty gave him a wide smile. "Heywassup!? Are you my master?" she asked very loudly, almost yelling in the man's ear.

Lance blinked, their awareness a bit shocking to him as he stepped out from the dense wood, waving to them with a small awkward smile.

"Hey there, saw you guys had a bit of a problem, you look roughed up." Lance said innocently, chuckling playfully to them. Lance was just trying to convince them he was harmless, he didn't wanna fight.

"Lance just be cool and stop beinh condecenfing." Kaitlyn said joining him, looking to the group of men. "We really are harmless, we just want to leech some fruit off you." She said with a playful giggle.

Smiley winced in pain at the inu girl's obnoxious outburst in his ear. With piercing eyes ready to kill, he turned around to the inu girl. "Why you little`!"

Before any threats were made, Langsley bonked the back of Smiley's head with a small hammer. "Shhh don't be so cruel Mr. Smiley, you'll scare the poor girl... dog... robot... well you'll scare her with those cold eyes of yours!" protested Langsley. He turned to face the two guest with an innocent smile of his own. "Why I'd never assumed such a thing from such a beautiful fairy and his companion! Why don't you both join our little adventure? I'm sure we can spare a few rations... Ah, would any of you know where Negav is by the way? We're on our way over now" explained Langsley.

Smiley grumbled a bit in pain and annoyance as he rubbed on the bump of his head. He turned to the inu girl and took a deep breath to control himself. "No I'm not your master... god help whoever owns you though..." he said, muttering on that last comment.

"Actuslly neither of us really know anything besides the location of the village we stay in. Lance used to live in Negav, but that was years ago." Kaitlyn said to them with a small frown, feeling bad for not being able to give more onformation to aid them in getting there.

Lance tilted his head at the android and laughed when she yelled in his ear. Walking to the group and feeling quite happy with the number of them.

"What is your name android?" Lance asked her with a sweet smile, very curious about her, having never even known such a creation was possible. "Because i might be your Master." He said simply playing with her, thinking she would just laugh him off.

"Android? Where?!" Ty Ty exclaimed in confusion, though still with a smile and a happy tone. She spun her neck around 360 degrees to look for the android the man had mentioned.

"Oh, I mean what is your name young lady?" He asked her with a large smile, being polite and skillfully rephrasing his question to her.

Langsley sighed, but still smiled at the two guests. "Well thank you anyways, you could still join our little adventure if you wish... provided that you pull your own weight of course and help out with setting up camp" he said with a small chuckle.

Smiley looked at Langsley with disbelief. "Professor Langsley! You can't be serious as to let these strangers come with us! For all we know they could backstab us or lead us into a trap!"

"Now now Smiley, these people only wish to follow, there's no harm in that! And besides, we did need replacements for the 3 soldier that we lost a while back! So problem solved!" said Langsley chuckling.

Smiley sneered a bit at the old man's carelessness but protested nothing further. "Let's just keep moving... who knows what kind of trouble Julius might run into... that stupid boy"

"Quite right!" exclaimed Langsley as he turned around to his guests. "Shall we move along now?" he said as he led the troops forward west.

"Designation: T-one-oh-four dash Y-one-six. My owner named me "Ty Ty," the android girl answered. She then fell back in place with the other soldiers and followed Langsley with the others.

Lance chuckled softly and followed them, falling in line as the tried to remembee thecexact way to reach Negav. "I could probably do it if we a familiar landmark, but as of now we ate walkung blind." He said proudly, enjoying adventure, esoecially when lacking a map.

"I assure you, uh, Smily, I think he called you. We don't hurt anyone who doesn't attack us first, and being as I am some predators may be discouraged from attacking if they see a fairy." Kaitlyn said with a kind smile, trying to make him less hostile.
