Four-Man Group of Adventurers

I am going to do the impossible and make story about a group of 4 defying the odds, defying fate, and defying the dangers of felarya.

The first thing that popped into my head on reading this was "Left Vore Dead".

Okay here is the base of the introduction...4 adventurers are traveling in one of those airships that ferry people over felarya. Each adventurer as they're own past, each have distinct personalities. Some are more armed than others. While on their journey, they get attacked by some giant pred. Guns start blazing, but they can't do anything to stop the giant pred. The giant pred takes out all the escorter ships protecting the main ship, each one either going up in flames or their contents get eaten. While giant pred feasts, the main ship manages to gain some air trying to escape.The Captain of the ship, howvever ordered the evaucation of his passengers. Some of passengers manage to evacuate the ship including 3 of the adventurers. However before the last one gets out, harpies come and start tearing apart the ship causing some of ship to go up in flames. All the while eating even more passengers. The ship drops fast towards the waiting giant pred. The Captain now bleeding, helps the last adventurer escape before he sits back in his cockpit. In his dying moment, he blows up the ship taking the giant pred and some harpies with him. Meanwhile, the last adventurer sees this happening just before falls below the canopy. Some vines and a few small branches help break his fall, though when the adventurer finally hits the ground he falls unconcsious.

If it was something containing military intelligence, then maybe, with a really long "may". But definitely not a civilian ship. I know it's the heroic moment, but...

I can probably avoid making a totally separate chapter explaining why there is explosives on the ship, if I said that it did contain some sort of military intelligence. However, since ferry ships have turrets on them, I would expect they would have a large cache of ammunitions as well. The Captain knowing his time would come eventually, he made sure to rig some of the boxes with explosives he gained from his experience as a demolition man or as a soldier.
