The Kluu'on Empty
PostSubject: The Kluu'on   The Kluu'on Icon_minitimeFri Mar 01, 2013 11:03 am

(A race of creatures that came to me in a dream that lasted a whole day, which felt like weeks, feel free to make your own characters of this race ^-^)

The Kluu'on

Biology: Humanoid cat-like creatures tha thas paws instead of feet and for her large, fennec fox ears, with white tufts of fur coming out of their ears, cat like face compleat with light pink noses and large, round, luminescent green, blue or amber cat eyes and bodies is covered in short fur. Whilst their body fur is short and smooth their tail fur that is long and bushy.
They have scent glands on their chins, heads and tails, which also creates the waterproofing oils which spreads to the rest of their bodies by grooming, they also rub their scents onto objects and people they like.

Their height ranges from 4 to 6 feet, their tails normally being around as long as their bodies, if not a little shorter

Despite their thin, fragile looking frames, these creatures have very strong leg muscles, capable of easily jumping 15 feet as if it was nothing to them, their kicks also hurt allot and their claws are very VERY sharp, so you don't want to get on the bad side of a Kluu'on. Their amazing agility and speed, along with their impressive strength plus their cuteness makes the Kluu'on very popular assassins, thieves and even pets for nobility.

Some Kluu'on have the somewhat rare ability to pass wounds from one persons body onto their own, to heal those... Though the wounds and injuries will go away for a while, the kluu'on will be in allot of pain and agony if the injury was severe.

Fur colours and patterns: Naturally their species fur colours range from orange-brown to grey depending on their location, but new mutations that would not naturally survive in the wild had been bred, such as pure white ones, calico ones, blonde/sandy ones and even pure black ones, patterns are normally ranging from tiger-stripes to leopard spots, but domestic ones can have roseate or no markings at all, or they could have white bodies with orange and black blotches on them, some have even been bred to have heart-shaped markings on them.

Culture: The Kluu'on are an incredibly curious race, exploring and learning new things being a big part of their culture, 'wild' Kluu'on live in small tribes in the wilderness, living along with nature and hunting herdbeasts in packs or watching over the kittens as they chase after rodents or bugs, learning to hunt, the kittensitters have to keep a close eye on the kittens, because Kluu'on are VERY popular pets to keep among many races, and if the kittensitter takes her eyes of just one kitten, it may be abducted.

They are very skilled hunters, being kept as pest control by some races because of their intelligence. Their hunting strategies vary between specimens, from tools, traps, mazes or just chasing down prey, it depends on the Kluu'on.

Those raised by 'alien' races tend to pick up their captors traits, such as their language and culture, being easily imprinted upon at a young age, their curiosity and playfulness making them really adorable and many infertile beings keep them as adoptive children, raising them as their own... Though there has been darker cases where Kluu'on are captured and trained to be stone cold assassins, or merciless soldiers by their captures.

Most though, keep the Kluu'on as pets, due to their cuteness and loyalty to their owners, it isn't rare to see a kluu'on purring away happily as it is petted, enjoying the affection. The kittens make an utterly adorable sound, that sounds like a cross of a bird chirping and a kitten mewing, and some adults have been bred to retain this adorable trait, along with other kitten-like traits such as their baby-blue eyes or small size, sometimes micro-breeds that are only 2 to 3 feet high are bred, but these are rather rare and very expensive to buy.

Though, the 'wild' ones normally avoid civilization, preferring to stick to their tribal villages and some ones even live in the wilderness, either in pairs or in solitude. 'Domestic' ones prefer being outside more than indoors, and some even loathe their owners but stick around for free food and water, but aren't above running away if their owners backs are turned. But there are some Kluu'on that love their owners like family and would never leave them, this is more common in the later generations of 'domestic' kluu'on, and it is impossible to find one that loathes their owners in the 'toy' breed, since the ones in the rare toy breed are like kittens their entire lives.

Whilst they are sentient and some even think they are more intelligent than a human, the Kluu'on act more feral and animistic, preferring to roll with their instincts more than anything else, but it has been shown that once they put their instincts aside, they are very intelligent and sophisticated creatures, and make amazing artists and inventors once convinced to be one with their curiosity and imagination.

Diet: Kluu'on are omnivores, being able to eat both animal and plant matter. Though most kluu'on prefer meat over fruit and veg, preferring to be cast as carnivores.

Breeding: Like humans, the Kluu'on don't have a set mating season, being able to breed all year long, though they don't breed allot in the wild, normally only breeding in early spring or late winter when in the wild, so their kittens can have the best chances at life. Those kept as pets don't have to fear much, and know their kittens would be cared for my their owners/masters.

When a Kluu'on has mated, it takes about 7 to 9 months for the female to give birth, normally having one or two kittens. When the kittens are first born, they are blind and deaf, relying on their mothers scent, care and milk, after about 2 weeks they will gain their hearing and be able to open their eyes to look at their mother and farther for the first time, around 1 years of age the kitten with start to crawl around and about 2 years of age the kittens' legs will grow stronger and they will learn how to walk on their hind legs, using their tail to balance themselves.

When the kittens are around 3 or 4 years old, the mother and father will go out with them to teach them how to hunt, normally leading to some hilarious antics of the parents trying to sneak up on prey and the kittens dashing out and running around, scaring their prey away... Though the parents have to keep a close eye on their kittens as their kittens may be abducted or swooped up by a large bird of prey (Or eaten by a predator in Felaya's case.)

Well, I have to admit from the sound of it, they WOULD be incredibly cute.

However, jumping 6 times higher than they are tall? I mean I guess cats can jump pretty high naturally, but that's rediculous. Though from what I gather, they're more anthro feline than just "it has ears and a tail" like most Felaryan nekos.
If anything I could see it as a less evolved sub race of Nekos, that gained higher intelligence and uses that to its advantage, along with agility, as you've said.

You emphesize pets here, does that mean they're often captured and/or enslaved a lot? I can also imagine that you can play the "feral" side and say that any Kluu in Negav would be enslaved ones, since Kluu don't actually live there, preferring the wilds. That might be interesting, making a human sized prey species that doesn't like Negav. It wouldn't make much sense except for that these Kluu PREFER nature over large settlements. Maybe they accept the law of the wild more readily, but are using their curiosity to learn, and their superior intelligence as their reason for surviving.

Though you focus too much on abductions and cuteness, I think you might want to tone down on that, and focus on other areas. We get that they're cute Razz. Maybe some hunting habits as well?

Also, its "Assassin" not "Assasinater"

I dont think talking about mating was necessary, but it was interesting. A lot of newborns crawl before they're 1 though. That's all I really have to say about that section.
