So I wrote up a new bio on Mobius after reading Shady's AMAZING work on the Negav Article and finally getting Mobius' timeline lined up exactly the way I wanted. Even learned a cool little way to calculate native Negavians who were born in the olden times. XD Mae Mobius a bit older than I thought he'd be but eh Felarya's anti-aging effects allow him to be older than crap but still be a viable mage and fighter!

-Man or Myth Maker?-
Mobius Autero was born in the year of 1785 one year after the Psi'ol Mages came to Felarya along with his brother Luthen. As boys they were nigh inseparable. But as time passed and the Psi'ol gained a new place in Negav's society it quickly became apparent that Mobius was not as a strong physically or magically as his brother, nor quite as good at public speaking and the other things their father Roberus Autero was looking for in an heir. It was thus he decided Mobius wasn't worth the investment of time in and started doting more on Luthen and working so he'd have opportunities to become a great and powerful political figure in the rapidly evolving Negavian Heiracal structure. Mobius saw himself as unworthy and decided it must because he wasn't strong enough magically, what else could it be? So he researched how to gain more power and discovered that if one consumed the dust of fairies one's magical power could be increased three fold! Surely this would do it. So being a fool hardy teenager he set off into the jungle to confront one and did encounter and trap the fae, or so he thought! She lead him on for fun then fully intended to devour him and would have if not for a mysterious serpent-like being appearing and biting her wings savagely.
Mobius wanted to piss himself, or run or both but instead he stood his ground before the strange, shiny god-like being and in so doing impressed it enough to deem him worthy of asking one question, but if he posed the wrong question, or offended the creature, he'd never see the spirit again it said. and so he asked it "why didn't you kill her? Does she have some further use?" The creature's eyes narrowed and he it asked him why he wished to know and so Mobius told it of his quest to seek power to impress his family and was suprised to hear the creature also sought power but not to impress anyone for such ideals are foolish. Power must be coveted, gathered to oneself and then used to reshape the world as one saw fit. It's answer made Mobius realize he'd gone about it all wrong! He shouldn't beg and scrape for approval but he should make them beg for his respect. He should become a force so powerful that even nature itself would beckon to his call. That was the path of a being worthy of calling itself a Mage, nay an Emperor! Anything less was waste of his life. Mobius was impressed at the being's wisdom and wished to know more of this impossible path and what this god would call itself. The creature grinned toothily answered "Oroboros" but told Mobius he was not worthy of hearing how to attain such power. He'd have to prove himself if he wanted more. He swore he would and with that took the fairy to a secret locale and bound her returning only now and then to chop her wings off and grind them into fine powder but only took enough to increase his powers to pass his exams and surprise his family. His prowess as a mage increased slowly and before long his father was shocked to see that Luthen and Mobius were now more-or-less equal but Mobius was too late. Luthen has married into the second strongest Psi'ol family and has secrured a great number of resources and political sway in what would soon be the newly formed Psi'ol Magiocrats. He was always a step behind! Frustrated latter that year he left Negav and sought refuge in the place he'd found Oroboros and there he was told to wait, trian and learn the patience of a mountain and he would be the Head of House Autero. When asked how long he must wait? He was told ten years. Mobius was frustrated but did as instructed and leanred to survive in Felarya using Oroboros' teachings to survive and to expand his powers soon discovering a unique magic that actually put fear into him. He could sense dimensional tears now!
On the anniversary his seventeenth day of birth he felt a powerful rip in the space time continuum and was told by Oroboros that he must locate the one who came through. This one would be vital to his reign but this time Oroboros would not protect him from the jungle as he had done in the past. Mobius must prove himself worthy. He set off and using the lessons he had accumulated he managed to get to the site just in time to see a huge ebony warrior struggling against a Marsh Viper which was about to sink it's fangs into his shoulder when Mobius raised his hand and used one of his brother's spells to cause it great difficulty as it fell from the snake monster's shoulders looking most shocked, but not nearly as much as the dark skinned man. He asked Mobius who he was and how he did what he did. Mobius replied it was with magic of course and the man asked Mobius to teach him. He was about to laugh and explain that magic didn't always work that way when he opened his eyes in shock! This man had a massive amount of power beneath the surface. No wonder Oroboros said he would be useful! With training he could become a great weapon in his campaign. Mobius told the man he would train him in exchange for fealty and asked the mountainous man his name. The man smiled and said Oxhand. Oxhand of Tribe Jumosayku. He shook the man's massive hand and told him of Negav and aftef a few years of training how he would return there. Ox and Mobius became, to his shock and amazement quite good friends and it made his exile from Negav much less lonely.
Many years latter Mobius felt a strange pull towards Negav. A weary miasma in the air telling him it was time to return. He and Oxhand traveled back expecting a less than warm welcome and were instead met with the sight of the city in ruins and predator's everywhere! Seeing his future literally going down the pot he decided he couldn't let Negav be destroyed and he and Ox leant the Nekoes some much needed assistance. During the battle he ended up saving the life of a Neko named Jarvis Mendyn from the jaws of a centauress and impressed him when he blasted her in the face with a bolt of lightning. The neko swore to Mobius his life and Mobius told him that was all fine and good but they needed to take care of the predator's first. Latter as she smoke cleared he found the neko following him and learned that Jarvis was from one of the oldest family's in Negav and had a literal concept of a life debt promising Mobius his services if he would just let Jarvis serve him. Mobius figured it couldn't hurt to have another servant and gladly accepted his help.
The year 1925. Under the dual control of Psi'ol Magiocrats and Vishmital Federation. The newly formed Isolon Fist faced it's first challenge: reclaiming the Ascarlin Mines from the dreaded Harpies who'd claimed it during the Great Destruction. Mobius was one of those brave souls who volunteered to loosen their taloned grip on Negav's main export...Especially since Oroboros had told him it would gain him more in his unseen legion. His mix of odd different magical spells is credited for saving so many lives that day. Many Psi'ol anbd Vishimital did come out of that place and decided they owed him their lives. Latter as he was checking for surviors and torching Harpy nests he found a strange object nestled in one: A circle made from Ascarlin. Upon seeing it he smiled. He knew now what name his true banner would bear in this quest for power.
One day in the Summer of 1928 Roberus was found murdered in the street having been turned to stone by a Lamia's gaze apparently and smashed till only his screaming face remained. Mobius was suspected but no one could prove anything and publicly he seemed to have given up his quest for power settling into his role as the family's accountant and Luthen's right hand man. The two brother's rivalry cooled down and all seemed to go well...Until Luthen began a secret quest to uncover the truth of their father's demise using a powerful and forbiden type of Temporal Displacement Spell which would allow time travel physically! What could Mobius do but confront his brother and try to talk him out of this madness! Once he had arrived it's said, mostly by Mobius two best freinds Jarvis and Oxhand, that he tried to talk to his brother begging him to concede this insanity but the spell had driven him mad and forced Mobius to do battle with him trying to subdue him but alas one of his spell bolts accidentally pushed Luthen into the tidal forces of the the unstable temporal vortex where he was ripped appart screaming. Oh the horrors. How could he tell Elcsia Thelandros-Autero that her husband, and father of her children, had gone mad and tried to use a spell that could have unmade Negav and humankind on Felarya? Oh quite easily. The fool woman believed it and with his final obstacle out of the way he assumed his rightful place as Head of the House Autero! But this was only the opening move in his game of 3D Hell Chess soon the world of Felarya would tremble and be as clay in his hands!
--- Ascarlin Circle ----
In the year of 1988 B.U. a rumor surfaced in Negav that a strange group of eccentric Mages and Well-To-Do's were gathering in the shadows and plotting dreadful plots. dreadful why? Because even Lady Lesona's spy network could not ascertain their purposes nor who lead this odd cult. Many rumors abound that they are in fact a sort of Illuminati and that they in fact control Negav and Lesona is just sore she wasn't asked to head it. Others state they are offworlders come to slowly conquer Felarya through financial means and political string pulling. Mobius however only smiles,as if it's all in inside joke only he knows the punchline to, when someone asks him what he thinks their devious purposes are and says "to make the world of Felarya as clay to their hands." Very few know that Mobius is in fact the founder of this Negavian Illuminati.
--- Dabler of All and Master of All ---
Mobius is very fond of proving the proverb of "Jack of all trades, master of none" quite wrong. In his early days as a battle mage he used a combination of a handful of spells from every element trying to find which was the strongest. He discovered all could be bested by one another in a variety of difference formulas so why choose? He worked hard and soon was one of the first to graduate with a degree in all manner of types, sub-types and even forged a few new ones such as 'Rune Flow' which is used nowadays to make Mana Hotspots for quick magical recharges as well as a few other less notable types. He is a frequent visitor to Great Library of Negav but also has had his minions prove their worth by stealing a book from Morokoro as a sort of initiation ritual into the Circle.
- Spell List -
Royal Blaze: (Fire)
A blast of purple fire issues forth from Mobius' hand or staff. Usually he puts enough energy into the spell to melt solid stone but never much more than that because it's size is proportional to the energy stored in it's matrix.
Atlas Siphon: (Dark)
A spell Mobius uses to keep his physical body healthy without having to train as intensely as he used to have to in his youth. It's a physhical contact spell that requires one to touch bare skin to bare skin to use. To preform it one merely lays their hand upon the shoulder of the subject and then chants "Tras Durai Aut'n" and the stamina energy of the touched will be transferred to the user! It is said he keeps a team of martial artists who constantly hone their bodies as part of a ritualistic routine every morning. After which he drains a portion of that energy into his own body.
Blue Lighting: (Storm)
An amusing spell Mobius invented in his youth when he noticed people have a tendency to call out their spell's name giving away vital clues as to what it does. So he designed a anti-spell for such an occasion. With a name like "Blue Lighting" you would think it would be a physically damaging spell but in fact it spell not dissimilar to the Arboreal Frog's "confuse ray" a muddling spell that temporarily crosses all the brain's neurons and often is used just before a simple finishing blow adding insult to injury. It is said he has other spells like this too. Devious ain't he?
Aura Meldum:(Neutral)
This spell was most useful to Mobius during The Great Disaster. Mobius uses this spell to take part of his aura and wrap it around his weapon giving it's edge a spectral extension to increase range and durability. Most notably he is said to have sliced a centaur's nose with it using the spinning blade of his Oroboros Staff.
Venita Es Requiem: (Spirit)
Mobis thrusts his staff down into the ground and allows it to draw forth the ghosts of the area to come and feast on the target of the spell. Human sized or not. He doesn't use this in Negav however because it is a forbidden spell.
Ventus Cloak: (Wind)
Allows Mobius to mold the air by increasing it's density. Often he uses it to crush the air out of a foe and lift them almost telekinetic confounding people into thinking he's a Psion of some sort! Uncommonly he uses to to choke away air from his foes and their Fire and Wind spells which is aid to be what he used during the Reclaiming of the Ascarlin Mines in 1925 A.U.
-Further Detail of Equipment-
Oroboros Staff:
The symbol of the House Autero is a snake biting it's own tail thought to universally represent infinite potential. The staff's inner shaft is made from Adelvite and coated in lustrous Tessium and wrapped with soft Dridder Silk. The top is adorned with a snake biting it's own tail seemingly made from Tessium as well with a single small eye made of Ascarlin it's pupil a blood red slit. Many who look upon this staff gasp in wonder or flinch in nervousness saying it seems as if the mythical Oroboros' eye is watching them. Some swear they've seen it blink.
The Ring of Fealty:
A very well made solid Tessium with a triangular head and band with fine gilt in Felaryan Silver bearing a glaring eye marking Mobius as a member of Negav's elite. Many Nobles from old Psi'ol bloodlines wear these and ask their followers to kiss it as a sign of Fealty. Mobius' however as Inspector Cornerius Doyle has witnessed first hand the ring also forces any oath one makes in it's pressence to be binding mentally subduing their wills. He makes every new member swear an oath of fealty during thier induction into the Ascarlin Circle.
Belt of Belgoan:
A belt made from Kensha Leather and with a Tessium buckle dotted with small Mazhir gems. Mobius uses it as a secondary storage device for some magical energy by storing a tiny portion in it every day. He is said to have stolen the idea from an offworld novel but denies such allegations. His usual robe also has a large plate sewn into it with a simular properties.
