((Thought I would contribute something. Made it up yesterday.))
Not native to Felarya, Fire Grass is a dangerous weed that in theory, could overrun an entire landmass. The grass itself comes in a variety of colors ranging from deep red to vibrant yellows. On rare occasions, blue or white variants may appear. The grass radiates high temperatures equivalent to that of an open flame with roughly the same radius to size ratio. Fire Grass can only grow in the ashes of other plants and considering its nature, patches of the grass in any location with plant life can over time, turn into fields. Treading over such an area is unadvised unless you yourself are heat resistant. Melted shoes followed closely by third degree burns are usually common.
Although this plant could in theory cover an entire landmass, it is easy to maintain. The plant reproduces after the last snow fall of the first half of every year. Felarya's inconsistent nature however, may lead to an entire year being skipped in the Fire Grass' reproductive cycle. The seeds will only sprout on the coolest side of a plant, where there is no other Fire Grass bordering it. This means that only the outer specimens of a single patch can grow seeds. These seeds will eventually just fall to the ground and grow, extending the patch. While the plant itself is as hot as a fire, the seeds are cool and appear as just rice grain shaped obsidian pieces. They have a high price attached to them by weapon manufacturers for their potent properties.
Fire Grass seeds have a tendency to explode when thrown or dropped. They do not release significant concussive force, but the heat they generate is significant. The radius of this effect is rather minute however. It is common to pack 20 seeds within a glass orb which can then be used a s a thrown weapon. It is devastating against any human sized target, as the heat is enough to instantly boil liquids in or on the body. However, with the seeds as readily unavailable as they are, they serve a much better purpose as a predator deterrent. While the injury on a large predator would be minuscule, it would still cause them to reflexively pull away much as one would when touching a hot skillet.
