| I'm just curious, but how do races/people get added to the wiki anyway? | |

| It just take a matter to when Karbo decides to add the race after checking you making an analysis on them here, or on DA, but it's better here. Or even if you write a story starring a character of said race, and you show how they live in Felarya in contrast with all the dangers, its habitat, and the other races.
If Karbo particularly like your race, he'll often add them very soon. But, that's not absolute. He may particularly like them, but may not add them immediately.
All in all, there's no sure fire way they'll get added to the wiki now. Maybe in the future when we'll be able to edit the wiki ourselves, more races will be added more quickly. But, they'll have to be checked to see if they can be added, with or without modifications.

The reason why we can't add by ourselves in the wiki is due to the problem of page limit and contrary to wkipedia who use many servers able to manage many entries contrary ot the Felaryan's wiki which are using a private server so to avoid it's crash it's better to limit the entries

| Fair enough, but one thing, most people know of other races and characters solely through the wiki. I have nothing with the private server thing. But it's a bit of a drag when people are too reliant on the wiki to know about the world. | |

| I don't know. If Karbo lets anyone edit the wiki, there's a chance someone might vandalise it, either for kicks and jollies, or because they're a hater. IMHO it's a chance I'd rather avoid altogether. - Sean Okotami wrote:

The stories could be an alternate source of info, though that info would be posted on the wiki anyway eventually and some people (OK, maybe just me) are too lazy or don't have the time to read them all. I only consider the info on the wiki as definitive.

| Yeah, the first thing that comes to mind is that one time when I opened up the wikipedia article on wikipedia, and the whole thing had been erased and replaced with, "Wikipedia is stupid it doesn't let me do my pirating stuff" or something. It was gone a bit later though, since (thankfully) wikipedia has people watching over these articles. | |

| Karbo is the only one who can put up new stuff, unless he gives one of the others with access (like me) permission too. this is to keep the content and 'voice' of the wiki consistent. otherwise, if you have access, what you wind up doing more often than not is grammar and punctuation correction^^
the forum is the place for authors to put all there ideas out for him to see, and then he will put into the wiki if it expands the world of felarya. the Wiki is meant as a resource for writers... and as such is treated as a way to define cannon rules and such. generally if you see a contradiction in a story or even on the forum, the wiki is what decides whats right (absent of karbo weighing in). therefore... the number of people is also limited to reduce confusion and so Karbo can keep a close watch on changes there.

| Making this wiki more private helps in the way that the information shown won't be corrupted. When I say 'corrupted' I mean what happens in Wikipedia: anyone can modify any article, even if he/she isn't registered. So yes: it's OK for Karbo and others to decide which enters and which doesn't enter the Wiki. ;P - Cypress wrote:

Just how I used it for my entry for the story contest. And it came really handy, I must say. A good way to know more about the world, the places and the races you're going to write about and avoid contradictions.
