| Hopefully this will be one of the newest races in Felarya.
The Gizomu are the native race to the Elemental Isle's in the Jewel Sea. They resemble giant tortoises with crystalline shells, and depending on which island they grew up on, garner control over a certain element. They are one of Felarya's few if not only herbivorous races while a few of the Isle's garner a more omnivorous appetite (like the Arizo and the Glaezo of the Sand and Ice Isle's respectively) While they have almost complete control over the element of the isle they were raised on, they are pacifistic to a fault and even if they were to disregard their pacifism their strict adherence to their Guardians word forbids them from using this power for anything other then helping them with their daily lives.
Because their shells are crystalline in nature and are one of the most priceless source of gems in Felarya, they are hunted by some of the bravest adventure's from each race. While the Gizomu wont actually defend themselves usually they don't have to. The elemental isles house some of the most dangerous natural terrain on Felarya. Whether it be naturally occurring pillars of fire in the Fire isles, to the near constant thunderstorms of the Thunder Isle's, most adventurers die in the attempt to claim a Gizomu shell as a trophy. Despite this many races continue the hunting of these beings, usually the races that succeed have an ability to survive in the Isle they travel to.
The Gizomu also have another purpose in life. They have a sub-species called the Gozomi which are the cartographers of worlds. These beings have the ability to wield any of the elements the Gizomu can. However they are still plagued by the pacifism of the Gizomu so they are still hunted by the inhabitants of the area's of Felarya they travel to. To combat this the guardian of these beings -the diminutive Takra- decided that each of these cartographers would be accompanied by a chosen member of a race of their choice. Any race can become a chosen and once they are, they are transported to their partner. This chosen is usually granted control over up to 2 elements of their choice in order for them to better protect their partner. However they do not have complete mastery over said element[s] and must learn over the years how to use it properly.
The Gozomi, while they dont have to follow the rules set down by Takra, the guardian has set rules for the Gozomi only, the most notable of which is that they may only use their powers in self defense of their chosen, or to hide themselves. The chosen in turn are expected to use their powers to defend the Gozomi from smaller races. While chosen usually do not have the same pacifism of the Gozomi their powers really only affect smaller members of the races of Felarya and in some rare cases they can affect the bigger races as well.
As a side note the Gozomi can only use one element at any given time and have to shift to the one they wish to use, which takes around 30 seconds to 5 minuets depending on where the Gozomi was originally born.
Both the Gizomu and Gozomi are extremely intelligent and while not capable of Speech as we know it can communicate with other races through telepathy. All Gizomu and Gozomi are Warm Blooded despite being reptilian in nature.
Area's of the Elemental Isles.
Each of the seven Elemental Islands holds a different ecosystem and population of Gizomu and there are multiple differences between them.
Fire Island: The Island of Fire is the second smallest of the Isles but one of the most dangerous. The majority of the island is dominated by a gigantic cindercone volcano in which the Pyrezo live. The southwestern region of the island is dominated by the fire fields. A prairie of red-orange tall grass that emits a heat strong enough to cause 1st degree burns. There are also two caves that allow the lava from the volcano to drain into the ocean, this also causes a constant steam to be emitted from these caves.
The Pyrezo: The Fire Tortoises of the fire island can be distinguished by several things. Their shells are made of pure black Onyx crystal. These shells are etched from magma scarring from when the pyrezo rest within the lava of the mountain itself. The skin of these Gizomu are orange in nature to help blend in when resting within the lava beds. They are immune to heat and have control over the element of fire.
Sky City: The Island of Air is a oddity in among the isles. It is the smallest of all the isles by far (being only about the size of a small city) and travels through the air giving it the nickname 'The Floating Island'. The top of the Island is dominated by the City itself.
The Aerozo: The air tortoises are, like their island, an oddity as well. They are the size of a normal Human, devoid of a shell, and are bipedal. They are also the smartest subset of all the Gizomu and are the only ones capable of both Speech and Telepathic speech. They are also the least hunted Gizomu because of where they are and their lack of a shell. They control the element of air.
Frozen Wastelands: The Island of Ice is the largest of the Isles and is on of the most dangerous as well. The majority of the Island is dominated by an arctic tundra while the outer fringes of the island are glacial ice. There is only one other Fauna on the Island worth mentioning here because they hunt the Glaezo. This is the Blizza an Abominable Snowman like race that are the size of humans, and have the intelligence and culture of Ice age Neanderthals.
The Glaezo: The Ice tortoises are one of two omnivorous Gizomu. This is due to the fact that very little vegetation grows inland. Their shells are made of White Beryl while their skin is a light blue in hue. They supply the rest of the Elemental Isle's with fresh water and in return the other islands supply them with various things. Their Tails are covered in icicles giving them an appearance similar to that of an Anklyosaurus and Stegosaurus. A trait shared with the other omnivorous Gizomu. They are immune to cold and have control over the element of ice.
Island of Trees: The third smallest Island, this isle is almost completely covered by a Jungle. What isnt covered by trees are the three open beaches on the northeast, west, and southern edges of the isle. This island is the closest to the Felaryan mainland and as such sports a majority of the wildlife found in Felarya itself.
The Yggdrazo: The Gizomu of the Island of trees have the unique ability to heal many forms of life. The extent they can heal though depends on multiple things. The severity of the wound, how long the wound has existed, and they amount of stamina remaining in the Yggdrazo. If the wound is life threatening then the Gizomu in question can do little more then comfort the wounded, and if the wound has existed for more then a month then there is little else they can do. Their shells are made of a dark Jade, and their skin is a mottled brown. They have control over the element Earth, more specifically the element Wood.
The Jewel Sea: This is the home to the Nerezo.
The Nerezo are different from other Gizomu in the fact that they resemble a Sea Turtle instead of a Tortoise. They are regularly hunted by merpeople and various other underwater creatures. Their shells are made of pure Lapis Lazuli and their skin is a dark blue. They can breath underwater and are incapable of coming on land unless they are a Gozomi. They have control over the element Water.
The Isle of Sand: This island is the third largest of the elemental islands and is completely covered in sand with almost no oasis's on the island. While there are cactus's they rarely hold enough water to sustain the inhabitants of the island. Within the gigantic desert there are several ancient temples that have been buried by the sands and are completely unplundered. However very few of these are located close to the shore and the fauna here present a major problem as well. Of note are the Gigantic antlions that make their nest across the sands and the mummies that guard the temples. Both of these are natural predators to the Arizo and quite deadly to anything else that happens by them.
The Arizo: The Sand Tortoises are the hardiest members of the Gizomu due to being able to go for long periods of time without water. They are also the ones who trade with the Glaezo regularly for water. They are the second Omnivorous Gizomu due to the near absence of plant life in their home. Their shells are made of brown Peridot which has greenish glass spires growing out of it. Their tail also has glass growing out of it. They have control over the Element Sand, and can manipulate this to become glass.
The Storm Isle: This is the second largest of the elemental isles and the most dangerous. Not only is the land covered in a constant thunderstorm but there are naturally occurring pillars of lightning as well as the inhabitants of the islands. This is the home of the Perkozo.
The Perkozo: The Thunder Tortoises are the most powerful members of the Gizomu due to being able to control lightning and being slightly more aggressive in nature (due to being able to set lightning off in one spot and have it strike in another). However they dont use this to attack people just to scare. Their shell is made of Black Opal with a brilliant yellow Opal running through it. Their skin is Grey in color with Blue markings running along the skin. They control the Element Thunder.
There you have it, the -hopefully- newest race and sub region of Felarya.

| You have some interesting ideas, but they're hampered by bad design. You're simply trying to do way too much with these guys in a single post, and as a result, the whole thing lacks focus and doesn't provide much detail about the race itself. Instead of just outlining one race, you've basically created a bunch of subspecies for a single race (all of the various elemental Gizomu plus the Gozomi), and as a result, there just isn't much detail about the species to be gleaned from the post. You said that they resemble giant tortoises, but until someone reads down to the Aerozo, it is impossible to tell whether the average Gizomu is bipedal or quadrupedal. In addition, a good deal of the post is unrelated to the Gizomu themselves, and talks about things like where the seperate branches of the species live, and a Guardian you created, and rules the Guardian arbitrarily set down for the race. I'm just going to go out on a limb, and take a guess that even if the race gets approved, Takra isn't going to be... which means that it is probably going to need to be rewritten to remove references to him before it does get approved. I would recommend rewriting the entry for the species, and removing everything except the barest mention of their environment. If you want to design a new race, the first step should be focusing on that race; we don't need to know details about where they live. That kind of stuff should be mentioned seperately, so that you can go into detail on it without just shoehorning it into the entry for the species. More details would also explain some of the glaring questions that come to mind about the race; like how exactly the Gozomi draw maps, since cartography generally requires hands; what the size range of the species is, since you didn't directly give it anywhere; why there are such drastic differences between the various types of Gizomu, if they're all supposed to be of the same species; etc. I hope these suggestions help you refine the idea further. | |

| Thank you for the input and I'm sure it will help greatly.
I honestly hadn't planned for this to be the final product, and knew that there would be issues with it. As for the how they draw and the size range. I forgot to put those in because my mom threatened to turn the computer off if i didn't go to sleep...so i forgot about that.... And as for the creating a whole set of sub-races... that was actually the original plan, they don't have a normal build to their species. I suppose they might have at one point. You could think of it like us humans here on Earth. We have many different cultures, languages, and looks. But when you get right down to it. We're all Human. Same goes for the Gizomu, different looks and abilities. Same species.
Regardless ill have it revamped some time after the 24 due to the fact that my parents a making a big deal out of my 18 birthday, and the fact i have to come up with a crap load of new stuff if I'm going to describe them better.
