some situations get worse

A slight groan came from the small girl. Lily turned and In a very ndifferent tone said.

"She's alive. Great. So What do we call you?"

"What is your name, anyway?" Solomon asked Numa.

Numa wrote her name in the soil.

Solomon looked at the writing in the soil, then looked at Numa once more. "Well, it's an hnor to meet you, miss Numa."

Lily read the name.

"Ok Numa. But can't you talk?"

"I'm afraid she can't, lass. She appears to be a mute. Perhaps, there's a way we can help her communicate withough growls, gestures, or writing in the dirt?" Solomon thought for a moment. "There are no sheets of paper or pens large enough for the natives of this world..."

Numa rubbed Solomon's hair as a way of showing he was on the right lines.

Renee slowly started to move.

"Ooooowww. Lily That was harsh. Next time........."

She stopped as she saw Numa. Lily looked to Numa and solomen before slappimg her forhead in disgust.

"Here it come's....."

Renee gripped her sword and stood ready for combat.

"You!"

She looked at Numa

"If you've come for combat expect no mercy. If not then state your intentions!"

Lily looked at her.

"Renee If she wanted to kill us she would have while you were napping. And she won't state anything no matter howhard you want her to cause she's a mute. Now if your done making a fool of yourself she's friendly."

Renee put her sword slowly into It's sheath.

"O....K......Then pleasure to meet you......I guess."

Lily looked at the other's.

"Don't mind her. She's not all there."

Numa's attention was dragged towards Renee.

Renee looked at Lily then at the other's.

"Wait a minute. How long have I been out. Lily are you making friend's?"

Lily turned to her.

"No, I'm just talking and unless you want to be thrown harder next time you'll leave it at that!"

Lily's tone was menacing and hostile. She sounded as though she meant it. Renee read the note in the dirt.

"N-U-M-A? Numa? Is that your name?"

She was looking at Numa

Numa nodded her head, giving a affirmitive growl.

"Yes, that is her name." Solomon confirmed. "And I suggest we stay with her so she can protect us from other predators." He looked up at Numa. "Miss Numa, would you like to become friends?"

Numa blushed at the comment. After a couple of minuites of deciding, she nodded her head.

"Well it's nice to meet you then Numa. I'm Renee Winter's, I'm sorry I opened with threats and challenges but most thing's bigger than us try to eat us. So I'm a little jumpy."

Lily ooked at her.

"Furball your jumpy when you dinner moves. You should be used to this place by now."

Renee looked at her angrily.

"Lily don't call me furball!"

Lily scoffed.

"Why? Your a cat."

Renee grabbed the hilt of her sword.

"Oh really. Think this round will go better? I have time to kill, let's dance furball!"

Lily jumped a safe distance from the other's. As Renee prepaird to charge

Renee stopped before hitting Numa's finger. Lily started laughing.

"Your lucky Renee. Numa there just saved you!"

Renee looked at numa an solomen.

"I'm sorry. Lily just has that effect on people. She's worse than a harpy sometime's."

Renee quickly dismissed lily.

"Nevermind. So Numa, solomen I bet you have a story behind you both. Talking about our past is the fastes way to know about eachother."

Numa looked quite uneasy about discussing the past.

Rene looked at her.

Numa carried on watching the trio.

But not just any pirate, mates...Captain Solomon Sharkbane, member of the infamous Snake Heads. I always sailed in the Caribbean, as did the other members of the Snake Heads, and we often plundered Spanish, French, and British ships for goods, and of course, gold." Solomon took a pause as he looked at the group. "As for how I got to Felarya, me and my crew weere being chased by ol' squidface himself. You may know him as Davy Jones. See, I owed Jones my soul, being that he and I made a deal a few years back. When his pet attacked my ship, I flew overboard, and hit solid ground, or, Felarya, a few weeks ago. I'd rather stay here than...THAT God forsaken place." He told the last sentence with detest.

Numa's face bunched up in confusion. The story made no sense - at least to her.
