The Silver Tower
Danger: High to Very High

The Silver Tower is a one hundred foot tall tower that resembles a medeviel watch tower or guard tower made of what resembles pure silver. There are very few windows, and they are small and high enough that one cannot see inside them. There is only one door, and it is five feet tall and seven feet wide, made of white oak. The Silver Tower is notable for the fact it floats, it is constantly teleporting to different places (you could go into The Silver Tower at the Jungle of Perils and stay inside for an hour, then leave and find yourself in Evernight Forest!), and for all the treasure and priceless artifacts kept inside of it.

The Silver Tower is loved by many adventurers for all of it's riches. The Silver Tower seems to be fairly simple in it's construction with several floors (six, to be exact), each with some riches within. The very top of The Silver Tower is a favorite destination for the magical artifact seekers.

During the day.

When the sun finally sets, the other side of the Silver Tower appears. Very few accounts have been given about what happens within, but those who come out alive tell horrific stories (and most die soon after leaving the Silver Tower, either from being eaten or from fear).

Apparently, the Silver Tower becomes an endless labrynith. Inside are horrible and gortesque creatures, from little human girls with only a large mouth circled by razor sharp teeth, to strange fairies with wings made from dridder legs and naga scales and opened chest cavities. Monstrosities crawl upon the ground with half eaten corpses, or ARE half eaten corpses. The walls are lit by numerous torches on some of the never ending floors, or flourescent lights on other floors, similiar to those in hospitals. There is no top and no bottom, almost as though one had been warped into another dimension. Teleportation magic does not work, and mages find themselves quickly running out of power. Those who make it out alive (which, if two hundred fifty people go in(say as a raid), only one will come out), have the very distinct feeling they were allowed out.

However, nearly no one knows of this side of the Silver Tower, but wonder why predators (and for some reason, succubi and angels) avoid it like a plague. Delurans are one of the few people who know of the Silver Towers nature.

Child Taker/The Herald of the Silver Tower

This strange humanoid, usually the same size as a neko or human, appears in random places throughout the day and night. The parents of children who live in the hidden villages, fairy parents, even dridder parents (and even some places in Negav!) warn children not to wander too far from the boundries of relative safety, not only because of the things that may eat them, but because the Child Taker would find them!
The Child Taker's appearance constantly seems to vary depending on what village or person you listen to, the only consistency is that it has feminine eyes and tends to walk in a weird jerking fashion.
The way to know if the Child Taker has been near is if there is a trail of unusually advanced decay.
It is said touching the Child Taker causes one to start rotting rapidly unless you get out of the area the Child Taker is in. FAST.
The only ones immune to this are children. But the Child Taker takes any child who has seen it into the Silver Tower, and they are never seen again.
People have tried to destroy the Child Taker, using magic or a stomp from a giant's foot or tail, but the Child Taker always comes back.
Adventurers though, take the Child Taker as a good luck sighting, since seeing it means that the Silver Tower will soon be near~!

It's a nice idea. People just go in and take the treasure during the day?

Are there any reports of anyone managing to survive overnight, without going bat@#$% insane? Sounds like a good setting for a survival rp.

I must say it is quite interesting. Maybe it actually connects to the mind of the one(s) entering, conjuring what it finds based on changing location and star alinment, with the main infuencer being the sun. Or maybe, during both, its actually the death labrinth, but it changes the memories of those who enter it.

I'm only going to say that the Silver Tower's face during the night is all real. The creatures, everything, and that you should keep your dead, wounded, and children away from it.

Oh, and it has theme music!

First Theme
Second Theme

What do you think? XD

I think maybe the whole idea is that at night the tower warps you to another dimension that's as heavy with necromancy as Felarya is with life magic. In other words, dead that are tossed into it may become walking dead to take you as well.

Also, yeah, awesome picks on the music...

An idea I had:

There's a map to the Silver Tower's interior after dark. This is not necessarily a helpful thing, though.

One 'survivor' will be allowed to live to dawn - even beyond. However, the tower has one last act of trickery. The survivor is made into a part of the tower and not allowed to leave - disappearing at dawn and returning at dusk. Only they are aware of their true location during the daylight, and the experience is rarely anything short of maddening. The next evening, the survivor returns 'transformed': A giant and complex tattoo covers their entire body from head to toe. This tattoo will shift constantly - not to throw off potential users, but because the tower's design is never a constant thing.

Madness is not an if, but a when for the 'Map'. Never allowed to leave, deprived of a death by the denizens (at times even seemingly protected from harm, whether by their will or not), the tower preventing them from starving or dying of thirst, the 'Map' must live out the rest of its 'natural' life within the tower. In the odd scenario the map is somehow removed from the tower, death is inevitable and instant. The loss of sanity is non-reversible, as is the transformation until the map dies.

Once the map dies - there will only ever be one map - a new 'Map' will be chosen. This does not mean there is a map at all times though. The Tower is choosy in its requirements for a map.

tl:dr Version: Person stuck in tower until death, has a constantly shifting tattoo on them that's a map of the tower (albeit with no key), only death is release from the state, madness inevitable.

Personally, I love the idea. The whole day/night shift allowing monsters to only appear at night is something that's always fascinated me.

It has a solid, simple backstory and nature, but one that's worth a thousand different plotlines.

i love everything, apart from the entrance door...it's too low...5 feet high? way too low. some people in felarya would have to bow REAAAAALLY low to get inside XD ... other than that, it's BRILLIANT lol!

The descriptions of the tower and the child taker are excellent but I think you should develop a past a backstory or background which merges the tower with the world of Felarya.

No. That's an idea, but not a good one, gwada. It would essentially ruin the Silver Tower.

It's like trying to make a story using the Guardians.

The story of the Tower, if you REALLY want one is this;
It just Is. Like Felarya.

Whath I mean by a story it's like it was done for Déméchrelle, various rumors and hypothetical stories about the origins of this tower and how it arrives in Felarya.
That's all.

I admit english is not my language but I do some efforts Wink

To be simple this tower even if it's well-detailed has no history or legends which can suppose how old it can potentially be. It's what I mean to give a past. It can be told by various stories, rumors, suppositions or recorded historical facts about many possible origins of the tower.

It's not a question of make a story about the guardians or anything like that because the guardians are known from many historical facts about their interventions and various rumors and stories about them.

I will repeat myself;
That's for you people to do.

I'm not suggesting anything, because then people will assume it's true. Nothing of the Tower is as it seems, not even it's history. What history? No one knows! What legends? A dime a dozen! Pick them as you please. Maybe it appeared after the dridder naga war? "No no, I heard that it was here before the Titans!"
"You're both wrong, it was brought into here by a squirrel!"

Don't forget, practically no adventurer knows of the Tower's 'real face'. -__-

Excellent idea! It draws on familiar creepiness, but turns it into something really original. I'd say it fits quite nicely into Felarya.
