Andry Species Empty
PostSubject: Andry Species   Andry Species Icon_minitimeTue Apr 28, 2009 8:13 pm

Actually, they have nothing to do with each other. 'Andry' means 'small' in the language of the first person to actively study and write about them, Professor J. Kikalo (now deceased because his wife found out about his affair with... a slug girl. Named Polly.)

Het-Bran
The Het-Bran bear a veeery remarkable resemblance to Slug Girls, and in fact often breed with them. But Het-Bran are not Slug Girls. Het-Bran basically look like slug boys, but their slug half is usually a darker color, and dries out faster. Most Het-Bran stay in wetter areas, such as the Chidokai. Het-Bran have a special adaptation to make preying on them difficult. Their slime coating turns acidic to the touch gradually, leaving your(if you're a human) hand on them for longer then a few minutes earns melted off skin, and the slime will keep eating way at flesh unless the slime is BOILED OFF.
Het-Brans, while not exceedingly rare, are uncommon and prefer to spend their days day dreaming about a world they will never see beyond the warm waters of their homes, and they have the habit of eating anything which crosses into their line of view. They also sneeze, a lot, when a sphinx is nearby.

Avessit
Noble and proud, wise and enigmatic, Avessit resemble Harpies to a degree, except as males without external genetalia. Yes, this means no testicles or penis are present on an Avessit unless mating occured. The last reported (giant)Avessit mating was 4,000 years ago. Avessit came in two varieties, giant and (relatively) human sized. Both kinds regard one another mutually and do not eat or scavenge each other. Avessit were at one time fearsome warriors and sorcerers, locking into sky combat with Harpies... and usually killing or mating with them. However, some cataclysm shook them thousands upon thousands of years ago, and now their numbers have become so rare, seeing (and surviving one) is a legendary stroke of luck.
Harpies themselves remember Avessit as 'quiet motherfucking bastards', and that chicks help begot by them were usually larger, stronger, and survived longer then others.
Avessit are now, essentially, considered extinct. A few relic INDIVIDUALS may still continue to live, but they have either all died off or moved towards the North while legends state some went to the Akaptor Desert. Whatever happened to them may never truly be known...

Prehaps we don't want to know.
