| - Spoiler:
Okay, with the locking of the communication thread I am in serious doubts as to the even eventual recovery of our community.
We need to seriously stop arguing, stop replying to every little jab. In chess, when your opponent moves his pawn, do you take it with your bishop without thinking?
Also, if we're going to argue (which we shouldn't) then we need to do it from the other person's point of view instead of our own, otherwise you're not gonna convince anyone of anything and the arguing will just go on...and on...and on.
It doesn't matter who started what anymore - we need to make some serious decisions. I sense another meltdown coming soon, and we're already in the midst of one, and if that happens I shudder to think about the fate of our community?
Will it end?
It's not worth making money off a community if you end up pulling all your hairs out, and this is a very stressful time for all of us.
These are questions that need to be thought about seriously. Don't just write if off and say "there's no chance of it" that's arrogant thinking and these situations have meant the collapse of many groups. It's a massive schism, that is supposedly based off the lack of communication. So why aren't we doing (as opposed to trying)? It's not just the forum that houses Felarya members, and we need to include others too. That I see is a really big part of the problem.
Though my opinion on the communication issue aside, it's obvious we need to seriously sit down and discuss options as adults, not just keep asking when we're gonna start talking to each other again. We haven't been proposing ideas of how to deal with this - or even if the communication was the base reason for all this? We need to know where the problem came from and then make a decision from that otherwise this will never end, and I have a personal fear of Felarya shutting down as a community.
________________________________ sorry. needs to be heard. We don't need to accuse each other. I specifically stated that we need to move on and stop accusing people of things. Lets solve this problem, and I'm trying to do it. Locking every thread wont solve anything Timing. ______ I have suggested we start by making links to the other areas on the internet where felarya members are located. On each sub-community. We have like 5 or 6 areas with felarya members, and the only place with any real links to other felarya areas are the DA group. We can't solve this if we don't talk, and we cant talk if the threads are all locked.

| I say we should post a blog on the Felarya group about ways you can talk to others in the Felarya community. There was also some suggestion between me and Cauldron about "news" from the forum being posted as a blog from time to time. Usually some form of updates in the community.
We ruled out the idea of highlighting certain ideas, because let's face it, it's going to become a second race to glory.

| wow 2 threads locked in quick succession... Let's hope this one goes better. Stop with angry accusations everyone or this will go absolutely nowhere and measures will be taken. if you see a post that irk you, go do something else during 10 minutes and only then come back to it. And avoid provocations. This is valable for everyone.

| Yes, I agree, I would request that threads stop being just locked at the mere mention of a differing opinion or the word "troll." It's also annoying for everyone else in the thread. Just locking threads without trying to moderate isn't... well... moderating. I was not making an angry accusation. I'm just telling Bael to not worry so much about other accusations. Things aren't that bad now. Don't get heated up for no reason. We're on the right track. | |

We can talk about that in a pm or on vent or something. For now I'd like to focus on making healthy decisions for the community.

| Sigh...have we come to this again? We manage to do just fine for a while and then some stupid comment and we're back in trouble. We can't let this happen every time, guys.
....But yeeeah, I agree with the blog idea. Seeing something that updates with what's new, what goes down in the forum or what you can't really do, or stuff like that, would really be helpful

I also request that the Communications thread be unlocked. It was going fine. Kri tried to cause trouble, and she was largely ignored. The fact is, a thread was locked on a whim for no real reason when it had been going fine.

| Since we've updated the size of characters and predators recently, I think it'd be good to start from there. I know Karbo already made a size chart, but I think some people didn't get the memo. So I say it's better to be safe than sorry and start with the first update news with the new sizes. | |

| Well if we make a global website, then we could have something like news. Maybe a 2 or 3 people could be in charge of that. I think of the poke-news thing that gets announced every so often on their website. | |

| Yeah, I hate conflict more than anything, but I don't think locking the thread like that was a fair decision. If I were a moderator, I would've made a post telling people to calm down (as I kinda tried to do) and would've given light warnings to those involved.
Aside from an inappropriate comment or two.... or three (I won't name names) I'd say it was going fairly well all considering...

| The thing with the global website was that it was attempted more than once (I only experienced one), and nobody joined, probably because they didn't see much point in leaving this very forum. Trying another exodus would likely fail. | |

The fact is, a thread was locked on a whim for no real reason when it had been going fine. Not really. if left unchecked, seeing the direction it was taking, it would have led to even more drama and flaming and this is about the last thing we need now. That's why I locked it. Krisexy's post stirred troubles and was certainly not needed, in the other hand, the attack you slipped agaisnt her right in the original post were bound to provoke some reactions as well. So let's stop bringing accusations. Everyone have some in that affair, and not the least, me. Buts we must get over them because otherwise we will go absolutely nowhere.

| Karbo is right. We still have issues to deal with, but that problem is up to the individuals to deal with their own problems. The best we can do is put our differences aside and brainstorm what we can do to establish better communications with the dA group.
Ultimately, we must be aware that we can't force people to come here, but what we can do is entice them to check the forum since this is where most of the updates and ideas are brewed.

| Yeah, if you have anything mean to say, bottle it up. Don't let it spill.
And Cliff, really, your action in the chat box really was grievously immature.
This goes for everyone: Don't dwell over the conflict. Don't cuss people out. Don't accuse or point fingers. Please...

Oh shut the fuck up with that shit. All you did was lock a thread that everone liked and was actually doing some good. No matter how you try and justify yourself, all you've done is make things worse. Again. The whole, fucking, goddamn, point of that fucking thread was for people to get over their issues by TALKING and GETTING TO KNOW one another. So that this kind of shit DOESN'T KEEP HAPPENING. Do you realize the horrendous irony of locking a thread that was designed to promote COMMUNICATION? ...and without even saying anything beforehand. @ Aisu: Ehh, maybe. It was worth it though. Besides, it was only a matter of time before they took away my chat-mod rights too. The attempt to discredit, destroy and twist everything I do is just starting, it seems. It'll all work out in the end though. I have the moral highground here.

| Cliff, for God's sake, keep the harsh language to a minimum. It's not okay when others do it, and it's not okay when you do it. It's never okay. There is never a good excuse for that. | |

Yeah well I didn't said anything when I replied to this thread because I thought it was better to not bring that up at this time, and let a chance for a sereine discussion... But the fact is those little barbs you slipped in *did* bothered me, especially that way you presented them at the "fait accompli". If you want to make a thread about better communication, you better stay neutral about it otherwise you defeat its purposes from the start....

| I see things have become frazzled in my absence.
As advised, I took a bit of a vacation from the forums, and I've calmed down and had time to think about what had been said and done. And well, I've now arrived to see the situation is getting rather messy. Cliff, you and Kris obviously have some massive feud going on, but the problem is that you both keep lighting eachother's fires and the flame never goes out. Someone has to be the first to come out and stop the chain from reigniting itself. I just wish someone would do it soon before words are said that can't be taken back.
Karbo, I truly am sorry if things are becoming stressful. I don't know how it feels to have to deal with all of this and be continually frustrated by those who throw insults or who feel they've been wronged. I guess you'll think that ironic, coming from me and all, but just know that you still have my support, despite any decision you make. I saw the forum's birth, and I'll continue looking it through until my internet dies. As for everyone else, I know a few of you still hate me and have me on ignore, plus the whole "barring from Ventrilo" thing. But you know what, that's fine. I wish I could apologize, but since I have not been given the chance, then I shall just continue lurking. I hope the situation gets resolved in the near future.

| I don't hate you, Pen. And you do seem to have calmed down a bit, which is good.
But yeah, I recommended that Krisexy and Cliff just stay away from each other for a while. Good things never come out of those two in the same area. It's probably for the better of the discussion.

| Alright, now that this is hopefully over with, lets get back to discussing ideas of what to do to bring us together more, or even find out if communication was the original problem.
We have some kind of blog/newsletter proposed that will contain updates and be posted on the DA group, (and anywhere else maybe?)
We also have my proposal for links that lead to the other areas where felarya members have congregated. Also that those links be posted on the DA group, here, and anywhere else that's necessary.
Are these good ideas? Do you have ones of your own?

| That's true. At the bottom you could have something like "Remember to check out the other areas of the Felarya community!" and have links, and maybe the host name and id of the vent one just so people don't have to search for it too much.
Though yeah, lets hear your ideas on this, or any others you might have!
Also yeah, it'd just be updates and stuff. I don't know if Karbo would want to run through it before posted though - that'd be up to him.
