Creature Bio- Aniso

(this is just a basic idea right now...still being worked on a tini bit)


Aniso (Great Dragonfly)
Order- Odonata
Suborder- Epiprocta

Aniso are a Large Dragonflies that range from 2 to 40 feet long that live in areas where there are plentiful water sources to lay their eggs. It's very easy to distinguish an Aniso; they have large multifaceted eyes, two pairs of long semitransparent wings with beautiful designs on them as well as a very elongated body. Their Colors vary on their location but they are typically green or blue.

Aniso are very fast, they can fly up to 100 miles per hour and are very agile and precise with their flight. This is because of their pair of wings which; resemble a fairies, they beat VERY fast to the point where they seem almost invisible, large variations wings sometimes break the sound barrier, so it takes a while to hear them whizzing by to actually hear them. when they fly, they leave this sort of after image trail behind them, giving them this somewhat mystical look seeing many of them flying around in a single area.

Like most insects in Felarya, these creatures have a magical resistance, but it seems that they have somewhat of immunity to wing based magic. The Aniso seems that they have the ability to resist wind so they can easily fly through a wind storm with little problem. Also the Aniso can flap their wings in a way that creats gusts and small cyclones of wing to blow away potential danger and predaors.

Aniso lay their larva in water and they are amphibious for the early stages of their life. Oddly enough the Larva are known as nymphs, even though they aren't directly related to the Water Nymph. Perhaps they earned that name due to that Aniso's and most fairies have similar wings. Once the Nymphs gain their wing, they emerge from the water and go about their lives like any other Aniso. Most of the large and more unique variations live in the great Marches, but overall Aniso live in most parts of Felarya

Aniso typically hunt large and small insects. They are peaceful creatures so they will not ordinarily attack humans, hybrids or other creatures with the exception of Fairies. Aniso don't hunt fairies but sometimes they do mistaken Fairies for other insects and will attack, only to realize that it's not a potential pray and fly away. Fairies often are very annoyed when it comes to Aniso Breeding season; being tackled by swarms of Aniso is very aggravating.

Aniso seem to have some sort of attraction to Humanoids and Hybrids, often time just flying by and perching on their shoulder or their head, just to rest their wings. Due to this, it isn't uncommon in some areas where you will see humanoids riding on them like mounts. In the Fairy Kingdom, an Elvin Village is known to train Aniso Riders.

Aniso's natural predators include some Harpies, Giant frogs, Dridder and giant spiders, Carnivorous plants and Tonorions.

Unique Usages- Their wings havve a sort of Wing based magical Aura around them, you can harvest their wings to put in light weight amor to give it slight wind immunity, also some elves can craft "Wind Fans" from their wings that can creat gusts of wind when swung.

Felaryan Rumar- If you take a human size Aniso's wings and attach them to yourself, you'll turn into a fairy.

This is a decent idea. There hasn't been any suggestion of insects in a while.
