| This is a fetish related idea and not to create necessarily interesting lore. If there's others who enjoy preds who act guilty, conflicted and compassionate to their prey (but eats them nontheless because they just can't resist!) perhaps this is an idea that's interesting? A religious belief or moral practise among preds where they believe that eating prey that disagrees with being eaten and hates them for it is toxic for their health, so they must somehow "convince" the captive prey to relax their attitude a bit about the whole eating-thing by being very kind, worshipping the prey, try to get to know eachother, gaining sympathy for their hunger, giving sexual favours etc... you get the idea perhaps. Of course few sentient beings would let themselves be eaten voluntarily, so the loophole in the moral framework is that only a certain level of sympathy from prey needs to be reached before the pred can say that the prey "agreed". If it doesn't happen within some time (hours, days...) they let the prey go. If I would think up any lore about why such a moral or religious practise exists, perhaps it developed out of the guilt that some preds felt regarding eating sentient prey, but because they were too weakwilled to stop eating the delicious sentient prey-species, they created a religious moral system that still allowed them to continue, though to a much lesser extent. If it sounds ridiculous, it's supposed to be! Perhaps non-practitioning preds think so too, seeing these preds who try to convince themselves they're saint-like and pure. | |

Perhaps non-practicing preds think so too, seeing these preds who try to convince themselves they're saint-like and pure. I personally do not like this idea. I despise vore in general, but this idea suggests that the predator actively works to deceive the prey and put him into a false sense of security before he is ultimately eaten. I like to think most of the predators in Felarya follow an unwritten code of honor that would prohibit this kind of behavior, but this is just speculation. | |
