Void Eater Empty
PostSubject: Void Eater   Void Eater Icon_minitimeThu Apr 24, 2008 11:58 pm

Threat: Unknown

The Void Eater is a large, sea-cucumber-looking animal that sucks in it's prey. However, there are some who have claimed to have been eaten by a Void Eater and lived, saying that inside it is another, miniture realm. It moves very slowly, and seems to prefer open grasslands, to the point where some call it a lazy predator. Some have even theorized that it has plant-like properties, due to the presence of cloriphyl instead of blood.

(Bonus catgirl for those who can guess what game I was playing when I thought this up)

Very interesting creature here.

Is it a coincidence that it resembles a zone eater from Final Fantasy?

It does, doesn't it? Specifically, Final Fantasy VI (III, for the initial North American release.)

Zone Eaters were fun to level off of once you got a party tough enough to take one down before they all got eaten. Plus, since "Engulf" is its most common attack (its only other attack being a rather anemic physical strike), and doesn't result in immediate "Game Over" if all your party members get vacuumed in, they were relatively safe to fight.

(BTW, catgirl is Pendragon's, since he was first to guess it.)

Again an interesting and very original creature Smile But then how does it feed exactly ? It is more like a walking dimensional portal somehow ?

Photosynthsis/absorbing those who can't get out. Sorta like a living plant that needs extra nutrients from those it sucks in.

And I wouldn't reccomend swimming inside it.

You know, I read this description, and it sounded a lot to me like this creature from The Beatles' YELLOW SUBMARINE

(He comes in at 1:07 of this clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHJvh3jaxeM )
