Colossus Dridders Empty
PostSubject: Colossus Dridders   Colossus Dridders Icon_minitimeSat Jul 19, 2008 1:01 pm

As thier name suggests Colossus Dridders are a giant species of Dridder ranging from 100 to 150 feet. Like most Dridders Colossus Didders have the aperance of being half human and half spider except the spider half of the Colossus Dridder is covered in thick hair, which has given them the nickname Tarantula Dridders by many Travelers sence that is what they look like.

Habitat
Colossus Dridders mostly live in the Dridder forest where they live on their own for the most part. Unlike other dridders that live underground or in caves The Colossus Dridder will make its own lair out of webbing where ever they fell the safest. Thier lairs often ressemble a giant sphere with a large hole in it so it is very hard to miss.

Facts
Colossus Dridders have no venom at all surprisingly few creatures realize this and the Colossus Dridders are just fine with that it makes thier life that much easier. However even without venom a Colossus Dridder is still very Dangerouse as they posses a great deal of phyisical strenght making it very easy for them to break the limbs of thier opponents. To add more heat to the fire Colossus Dridders have developed thier own form of martial arts to take full advantage of thier size and strenght. The skin of the Colossus Dridder is also unusually tough able to withstand most attacks both magical and physical. However a Colossus Dridder is not 100% unstopable you see as they get older and grow they have to shed thier old skin/exoskeleton and leave it behind, because of this the Colossus dridder is defensless for several days as it takes about a week for their new skin to harden, during this time is when most Colossus Dridders meet their end. In general Colossus Dridders tend to be poor magic users, the reason for this is most likely because of how their skin is.

Parenting
Unlike other Dridders who simply leave their young behind The Colossus Dridder will lay thier young in a location where they can keep an eye on them sence a young Colossus Dridder is practically helpless. From here the mother will hold sort of a survival contest to determine who is the strongest by a prosses of elimination since it would be to difficult to watch over all of thier young. After a set time limit or until there are only soo many young dridders left the mother will take the remaining young that have been deemed the stongest and watch over them until they are able to take care for themselves. A mother Colossus Dridder is rather over protective and will not hesitate to eliminate anything she feels will threaten her young including other Colossus Dridders.

Past
During times of war Colossus Dridders were often used as Brawlers takeing on groups of two or more opponents at a time. They normally prefered useing their bare hands in combat but were also known to use blunt weapons such as clubs or hammers. they normally didn't were armor because of their skin being so tough.

Hunting habbits
Sence Colossus Dridders have no venom they will only eat what they can fit in thier mouth, their most common way of hunting is setting up web trapps all over their territory which they check everyday. These traps look like normal spider webs and are often placed on paths or in high places, these trapes are almost impossible to see with the naked eye and are the end for most travelers.
Ofcouse even though they rely mostly on their traps they will still chase down their prey or stalk it from time to time.

Personality
Overall most Colossus Dridders are lazy and will do almost anything to avoide conflict. most of their day is spent sleeping while the rest is spent hunting. As for grudges against Nagas it mostly depends on the individual Colossus Dridder some absolutly hate them while others don't really care.

It mostly depends on where you are I guess I see them being common in Bulovon wood and the Dridder forest.

How would you define common? Like 5 in a 30 mile radius or what?

I would say probably about the same as you would expect to see a normal dridder. I guess common probably wasn't the best term to use they obviousely wouldn't be around every tree or somthing like that, that would just be insane. Laughing
