| Steam scorpions Threat: high A specimen of giants scorpion not very impressive next to creature like naga (I don't have a correct idea for the size, I'm open of any suggestion:D ). In addition of the classical features of the scorpion, except they had two glowing red eyes and they can roar. They developp a strange system to increase their strenght by using their own venom when they use it, steam come out from their shell like a steam machine. As scorpion they feed themselves with insect, their favorite preys are giants spiders and Tonorions. It's very impressive to see a battle between a steams scorpions with a Tonorion bigger than it. Even they don't hunt creature like humans it's strongly recommended to avoid them due to their natural agressivity and the poisonous steam they emit. They can't stand the use of magic near them, tt happen they attack someone due to the fact this person cast a spell. Their shell are very resistant to physical attack and magic has not effect against them. Sorry for my clumsy english Edit: I open to any kind of suggestion with a good explanation of the point of view

| It seems like a nice creature. It seems balanced, yet deadly. | |

Do you have some ideas about their size I don't want they are too big, a bit like cat for us but to the naga' scale which give them side harmless at the first sight

| I think they should be about 10 feet tall at normal height, including the tail. Don't know why. | |

| I have to wonder how a Steam Scorpion would react to meeting a Chilotaur? Seems to me that Nix might look like lunch to a hungry Steam Scorpion! Depends on how big they get I suppose. Great idea though. I like scorpions! | |

Great idea though. I like scorpions! It's a good question I didn't think about this point Maybe it depends it can attack a chilotaur thinking it's a Tonorion, like shark attack surfers thinking it's a prey. This beasts acted by instinct, some species may be more tactical like the abyssal Tonorion but if the attack a chilotaur is mainly an accident or a mistake Hey! you give me an idea! The steam scorpions may attack creatures like dridders thinking it's a potential prey

| I'm glad I gave you an idea! Some large centipedes actually eat scorpions so maybe Steam Scorpions might attack Chilotaurs in self-defence. Chilotaurs might consider them to be good eating too like humans do lobsters and crayfish! I really like this idea of yours! Can't wait to see how you develop it! | |

I really like this idea of yours! Can't wait to see how you develop it! Thanks Your point of view is very interesting, I like it a lot Your theory is very good, but due to the fact their steams are poisonous and the fact they can increase their strenght may a Chilotaur survive to the encounters I imagined the steam scorpion as a natural enemy of the Tonorion, a bit like the squid and the sperm wale with an epic battle the Tonorion using is front claws of praying mantis but the scorpion use its powerfull pincers to block them and with it's tail trying to bit the tonorion. The tonorion wraps the steam scorpion with its body but the steam scorpion resist increasing its strenght and creating more poisonous steams which slowly killing the tonorions etc... (sorry if it's a bit clumsy ) Maybe the chilotaur can kill the steams scorpions but it should attack by surprise and act very fast or there is risk it gets eaten by the steam scorpion or kill by its poison

| Hmmm. Well, maybe Chilotaurs could have a natural immunity to the venom of Steam Scorpions. They might even like the taste of it! Chilotaur venom could also be particularly effective on them too! Or they could just step around each other when they meet in the jungles of Felarya! I like the idea of Steam Scorpions attacking Drriders by mistake! That would make them very unpopular! Hey! Here's an idea! What if some race (like Chilotaurs) actually domesticated Steam Scorpions and kept them like guard dogs! | |

Hey! Here's an idea! What if some race (like Chilotaurs) actually domesticated Steam Scorpions and kept them like guard dogs! Indeed the steams scorpion have no an immunity against any kind of venoms even the venom they use to boost their strenght may kill them but I don't know if it's a good idea to give a natural immunity of their venom to the Chilotaur but I will think about it The fact they may attack dridders I don't know if it make them unpopular but it make them very dangerous to humanoid predators. The idea to domesticate them is very interesting, it's true this creature has a strong potential but if by example if Nix use one of them as guards dogs Crisis and Anna will maybe homeless because it will let no one to approach of the grand tree You posted excellent suggestions I will think about them

| Anyone besides me notice that we're all coming up with a LOT of bug-related creature ideas?
First the chilotaurs, then the trimax/unomax, then the mixa and gyspas, then the steam scorpions and currently, the manti.
Is it a trend or did we all just get the same thought that insects are under-represented?

Manti, scorpions, gyspas, trimax; it's all what makes Felarya nice and spicy with variety. What we need now is combinations of creatures, like the flying spiders I mentioned earlier in another thread, or nagas made up of plants (kind of like a hybrid), or possibly other good combos.

The problem, as you know insects are the most numerous life forms on Earth. In Felarya in additions of the classical type we know there are giants type and one points if fairies fears them there is a reason
