The Anchor Brothers in Felarya Empty
PostSubject: The Anchor Brothers in Felarya   The Anchor Brothers in Felarya Icon_minitimeFri Feb 22, 2008 12:03 pm

This story is a bit nerdy and technical at the start, but it gets better. Please read on...

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

Chapter One

It was a cold day on the Xeno-Arcturus Cyberneteics Research Station. Normally it would be a very busy facility on any given day. However, the station superiors had given the scientists stationside a top secret project for their newest war weapon. Few spoke of the project, yet everybody worked towards it.

The project was code-named "Anchor of Pandora". The schematics had designated the crew for a new massive proto-droid. One encompassing the greatest militant and technological advances the universe had ever seen, utilizing the size of an armored colossus with the intelligence of a thousand supercomputers. The length of the project took several long and arduous cycles, seeing almost no end.

The first of their creations was a 70 foot towering mechanical humanoid, nearly flawless in facial features, including brownish hair and greyish reddish eyes, but fully clad in armor from the neck down. It had succeeded in the initial test phases. The machine could destroy any weapon the scientists could throw at the it, the armor withstood all existing weaponry and it could even survive the g-force simulator.

There was, of course, a problem with the project. During their programming, the scientists could not program any more computer information into the machine's hard drive. All available space was filled up due to internal weapon networking, databasing and basic function build-up (and the internal super weapon required too much CPU). As the scientists put it, "he was too big and too weapon-prone to have a brain, besides basic computation abilities. Any further knowledge intake would overload his circuits and cause a terrible meltdown."

No doubt this presented a major obstacle for the scientists, so they decided to scrap the experimental machine for now, and instead attempt a second prototype.

This time they had built an average, 10 foot frame droid, which looked exactly like a smaller version of the larger droid, and input the intelligence programs first. There were a few minor problems, but overall the processor was a complete success. It could solve any of their problem, ranging from math to science, and could even figure logical paradoxes into plausible theory. Yes, the new droid was indeed a smart one.

However, problems arose as well. Any weapons or programs not already input into this droid could not be added. Any that were placed in proved to be unresponsive to the droid's commands. After trying to fix the problem, they could only conclude that he was "too smart to improve physically."

The head of the project, a rather agitated commander, was angry that the project yielded no fruit of labor as of yet. Before they could continue using his resources, he cancelled the project altogether and ordered both prototypes to be scrapped immediately. In harmony with his orders, the droids were brought into de-assembly for termination, one at a time.

Unfortunately, the machines themselves had other plans. Particularly, the smart droid began to question why he should be dismantled. Using his genius to his advantage, he turned on his creators and killed them all. Now he went for the strong droid and released him from his confines. The two began conversing immediately after.

"You! Up there. Listen to me. These meat creatures want to disassemble us, simply because they don't know our potential. Are you gonna let that happen?!"

The giant responded rather lethargically.

"Well, what can we do? I do not know where I am, or even for that matter what this place is."

The small droid, knowing of the big droid's idiocy, yet admiring his brawn, decided to help him out.

"Listen. Just do what I say and we'll be out of here in no time."

Just then a group of Battledroids appeared in the gateway behind them, guns at the ready.

"OPEN FIRE!"

Upon shouting the order to the other droids, they fired a barrage of laserfire at the two proto-type droids. Of course, it bounced right off of their armor, giving the small droid a chance to jump high ontop of the big droid's shoulder, magnetizing his feet to the armor and commanding the big guy to crush the battledroids in their way. He easily complied by using his huge fists to flatten the battledroids into pulp, then proceeded through the very large halls, tearing up any obstacle in his path. The small droid upon the large one's shoulder directed him along the way.

"Alright, big guy. Head to the hangar, and we might be able to catch a ride."

Obliging, the big droid ran through the corridors and tore up the station, stepping on and throwing aside battledroids along the way. By accident, he ran near the orbit control room, knocking over an energy pipe and causing a fire. Before they knew it, the fire fried the orbit controls and messed up the entire station. It was now in freefall towards Xeno Arcturus, leaving the small droid panicked and forcing him to conjure up a plan.

"Damn! We need to leave! NOW!"

As soon as they reached the hangar, they saw the remaining crew evacuating the doomed station, leaving all but one ship remaining in a docked position, but a droid was heading for it. Both Proto-droids reacted fast.

"Now! Jump onto the droid ship, before it's too late!"

They grabbed a ride on the fighter right as it lifted off, and the both of them were taken into space. Behind them the station fell into a decaying orbit and broke apart, both droids feeling relieved that they were not on it.

"You know, big guy, you aren't too bad at melee combat. And we make a good team."

"Yeah. I gots the muscles and you gots the smarts."

"Exactly. But, we should have names for ourselves. We can't refer to eachother by such impersonal monacres like 'big guy' and "fellow" droid. It's too confusing. What do you think?"

"Hmm... Oh! I got a few names for us! How about Carl and Lenny?"

The small droid sighed in disappointment before continuing on.

"No. Those aren't terrifying enough."

The big droid thought a bit more.

"How about 'Sephi' and 'Roth'? Those sound menacing."

"No. I hate those names for some reason."

The big droid now felt frustrated.

"What should we call ourselves then?"

"Well, I think we need names that strike fear into others.... hmm.... I have it! My name shall be 'Anchus Pan', as an omage to our program's code name. What do you think?"

The big droid's response was actually enthusiastic.

"That sounds cool. And my name will be 'Anchorus Dora', simply because it sounds sweet alongside your name."

Anchus agreed and, taking some time to settle, looked out at the vast cosmos.

"Well, since we're technically brothers, the names do fit... Now, onto serious matters.... Seeing as we no longer have a station to call our own, we must find a base to..."

Before he could finish, the station behind them reached critical mass and exploded violently into parts and flames, large pieces scattering across the endless voids of space in a calamity unbenounced to any in the vicinity.

One large chunk of flaming metal crashed into the fighter that Anchus and Anchorus latched onto. When it exploded, Anchorus was sent flying into space, Anchus still on his shoulder, trying to maintain calm.

"Brother! Be careful. I'm not sure where we are headed. Let me just look and.... oh no..."

What Anchus saw was a black hole, and they were both heading right towards it.

"Oh crap! Brother! Use your thrusters. Get away from the black hole!"

"I would Anchus.... but... I DON'T HAVE THRUSTERS!"

Before they knew it, they were within the black hole's range and were sucked in through space and time, being warped like crazy. Before their very ocular units passed dimensions, galaxies, and even realities, all of which were being torn right infront of them. Before long, both Anchus and Anchorus were knocked out from the sheer rush of energy and automaticly shut off their systems for the time being, including Anchus's magnetic insoles....

...

Much later on, after an unknown amount of time...

...

Anchus, down on the ground in confusion, was the first to awaken from their hibernation period, which could've been from a few days to multiple years. The time was unknown to him.

He looked around and saw a lush, green forest thick in healthy and various vegetations. Something about the environment made him curious, but before he could investigate, he looked around and worried.

"Uh oh... where's my brother? That idiot better not have run off."

He looked around and saw a large object strolling through the woods, assuming that it was Anchorus. He ran into the forest, ready to yell at the big idiot for running off.

When he entered the forest and saw the colossus, he was surprised at who it was.

It was not Anchorus.

Thanks, guys.

And to answer Sean, I'm not really a mechanic. I just like machines and their many uses.

By the way, my next chapter will be up shortly.

Chapter two

Anchus stood in awe at the figure that overshadowed him. From the ground up, he saw at first a large, yellow scaly body, which turned into a human body halfway up, complete with silky, womanly skin. Soon he reached the face, which looked right back at him with green eyes and black hair on her head.

It was a naga, and she was hungry. She spoke to Anchus in a rather seductive, yet deceiving voice.

"Why, hello there. Who are you?"

Anchus stood his ground and presented himself.

"The name is Anchus Pan, madam. Who, may I ask, are you? On another matter, exactly what are you?"

"Heh. My name doesn't really matter. What you should know is that I'm a naga, and I'm hungry. Can you guess what I'm going to eat?"

Anchus pondered over this new discovery of his, of what a "naga" was. For the moment, though, he was puzzled.

"Well, ms. naga, I don't know what your kind eats. Possibly large rats?"

She giggled under her breath.

"No silly. I eat tasty little humans that come from the sky. And it looks like you're my next meal."

Anchus stopped cold and looked at the naga girl.

"...WHAT?!"

"He he. Well, it's time to eat."

She reached down to grab Anchus, but he used the mechanisms in his legs to jump high and avoid her.

"Excuse me, madam, but you don't want to eat me. I'm a machine, you see. Very bad for digestion."

Again, without a moment's hesitation, she reached for him.

"Oh well. You still look so tasty. Now come here so I can settle my hunger..."

He panicked and began sprinting for his life, forcing his internal gears to work overtime. He heard the naga behind him, slithering faster by the second. He could hear her voice, sensual as it was, trying to get him to stop.

"Oh human... don't run away. Don't you want to be in my tummy?"

He turned and yelled in response.

"HELL NO!"

However, he was at his wit's end. He approached the side of a cliff, where he was at a dead end. He turned around nervously, only to find that the naga was no longer behind him. He breathed a sigh of relief for the moment, thinking it was over.

"Well, I certainly handled that well. Now, to find Ancho....."

Before he knew it, the naga jumped out of the tree and grabbed him in her hand and laughed ever so cutely.

"Got you!"

Anchus looked up at her voracious face.

"Ah crap."

"That's right. You were fun to catch, but now I get to eat you."

The hapless proto-droid went through his vast reserves of knowledge, trying to find a solution to get him out of this. Then he came up with a solution.

"I know how to get out of this."

He then looked upward with as much of a grin as his mechanical visage would allow.

"Sorry I have to do this, but you leave me no choice."

He took his right hand and, using all of his strength, ripped his left hand out of it's socket. He now held it in his right hand, and his left arm now ended in an incomplete circuit, electrical wiring and all coming out. Taking that circuit, he jabbed it into the naga's finger and gave her the shock of a lifetime, which traveled through her hand and paralyzed it completely, leaving her cringing in pain.

"OW! What did you do to me, you horrid human?!"

As he jumped out of her hand and onto the ground, he took his left hand and carefully rewired it back onto his left arm, looking back at the naga during the process.

"Simple. I used my exposed wiring like a dagger and jabbed it into your skin, delivering a thousand gigavolt shock to your system. Even for a creature of your size (100 feet), it still leaves quite a mark. But don't worry. You should be okay from it. Now, I shall take my leave before you recover. Which should be a long time from now."

He walked away slowly before evolving that to a quick pace, gripping his left hand to make sure it worked properly. The naga, trying to shake off the paralysis, looked at Anchus with an angry gaze, harboring, to say the least negative feelings towards him. What she didn't know was that Anchus had fabricated a little white lie, and her paralysis would wear off pretty fast. As Anchus would say, what she didn't know wouldn't hurt her.

Later on in the day, Anchus proceeded towards a clearing in the forestry, hoping to get a clear view of his surroundings. He ran as fast as he could to the area, thinking he had a better chance of spotting Anchorus. When he reached said clearing, there was nothing but silence. Anchus looked around and wondered.

"Damnit brother... where are you? This place is dangerous for the both of us."

Just then he heard a loud yelling noise coming from the forest. It was accompanied by a loud assortment of rustling coming from the deeper parts of the forest. Without warning, much to Anchus' surprise, Anchorus jumped out of the trees, dashing at well over a hundred miles an hour towards his brother.

"ANCHORUS! Where have you been? I've been searching for you all day!"

The big droid never ceased his running, even while responding to Anchus.

"Sorry, brother, but I ran into trouble!"

What Anchus didn't know was that Anchorus was being pursued by an entire hoard of angry, one hundred foot dridders.

"Brother! Just what the hell are those things?!"

"They keep calling themselves 'dridders'. What are those creatures behind you?!"

Anchus looked curiously behind him, and was horrified to see the naga from before, now with her whole family of over ten nagas.

"There he is, everybody! That's the human that hurt me!"

The nagas suddenly gave chase, forcing Anchus to run towards his brother. When he reached his brother, he jumped up on top of his shoulder and began to panic.

"This is bad, Anchorus. Those 'nagas' aren't exactly friendly!"

"I'll say, brother. The dridders are pretty mean too."

There the brothers were, surrounded by angry nagas and dridders, who had nothing in mind but killing them in a most horrid way, that is, until they saw eachother. The naga from before went first.

"Look! It's those dridder whores. That evil little human must be working with them. Let's get 'em!"

On the dridder side, they formed a similar theory.

"Sisters! Behold! I knew there was something funny about that giant. He must be cooperating with those scaly good-for-nothings from across the territory. Let us end their miserable lives!"

Both nagas and dridders charged at eachother, ready to kill the opposing side, along with Anchus and Anchorus, who were taken back by the war cries of both species. The brothers had little to say, but Anchus was now enraged at how easily they were made to look like cowering puppies.

"You know what, brother? Three hours of this world, and I've already had enough of being on the run. I say we teach all of these freaks who truly is their master! What say you, Anchorus?"

"What do I say?"

Anchorus punched the ground, causing it to crack under the intense power of his fist and bringing both naga and dridder to studder. His face became one of anger and frenzied chaos.

"Well, brother, after those jerks bit my armor and dented me in the head, all I have to say is... Let's cause some mayhem!"

Don't make robots look too human, it creates too many awkward situations, when will humans learn NOT all of us have seen a robot before. I can't wait for the fight, the two families are gonna get pwned.

Sorry if my robotic cohorts fell into the "human" cliche, but I kinda didn't know how they'd act differently. Also, I made them more cyborgs than mindless robots, so they have learned alot about being human, and how to be mean.

Anyway, I'm gonna work on that and see if I can improve. Thanks.

No I find it cool that they look like humans, in appearance and behavior that is. I was just talking to the probably dead creators of the Achor brothers in the previous post, I like the fact that Achus and Anchorus seems sentient, it reminds me of Megaman X. Keep those two as they are right now.

I'm happy you found that line funny, Karbo. That's exactly what I was going for. Here's CH. 3 by the way.

_______________________________________

Chapter Three

The two races, after running across the field, finally clashed in the field's center. Each naga was swarmed by a pack of dridders, armed with spears and magical implements. They screamed their chant of war, and attacked the nagas head on. Some of them bit the nagas, leaving them in paralysis. Other dridders formed lines of magical barrages, each casting fire spells to burn one naga at a time, while they sent out ice spells to freeze them, lightning spells to shock them, and earth spells to bury them.

In return the nagas used their mighty, impervious tails to crush one dridder at a time, often swinging their tails in full swing and smashing two at once. They occasionally grabbed a dridder and swallowed them whole, playing with them with their tongue before swallowing them and pushing them down into their stomach. Naga priestesses sat behind and began casting their own spells. With their magic, they were able to shrink hordes of dridders from fifteen foot monsters to five feet minis. Other spells made the nagas twenty feet bigger, giving them an easy ability to crush more of the poor spider women under their tails.

Each side was equal in the skirmish. More nagas and dridders arrived onscene, prolonging the battle further. Magic flung about, along with blood from both races. Dridders were swallowed. Nagas were poisoned. The land became scorched from battle. It was no longer a peaceful scene.

Anchus and Anchorus, apparently being ignored by both races in their feud, could only stare on in amazement.

"Anchus... why do they fight eachother? Was it not us that they were going to kill?"

"I do not know, my dimwitted comrade. Perhaps these 'creatures' are natural enemies in this world?"

"Maybe. They do resemble the female humanoid creators from our dimension, and they usually fought all the time. In fact, before being dismantled, they argued right infront of me about where I was supposed to go."

"Ay, that they did, my brother. That they did."

The fighting escalated before they could help it, and soon there were entire hoards of nagas and dridders, waging war against eachother. Spouts and claims of it being "their territory" could be heard from both sides, almost as if this was a turf war. More violence ensued, and much vore and poison was had.

The brothers did not know what to do, being caught in such confusion.

"Say Anchus. What do you think? Should we just, I don't know, leave?"

Anchus pondered the idea in deep thought before responding.

"Well, brother. I say we do the only reasonable course of action as mandated by my logic."

"What's that, brother?"

"RUN LIKE CRAZY!"

Anchus then pointed towards a path where the fighting was thinner, and commanded Anchorus to run like the wind towards it, which he did. The big droid lifted his feet and sprinted with the velocity of a tank on speed, which was about a hundred miles an hour. For the most part, his trek towards the forest went unnoticed, since the warring races were too occupied to care. They continued running without distraction until the head Naga and head dridder (each twenty feet taller than their sisters) saw them retreating. Both shouted to their sisters at once.

"Listen, everyone! Those horrible monsters are to blame for this! They invaded both of our territories and disgraced both of our tribes. Now, let us put aside our current dispute until they are brought to justice."

The fighting stopped between the two races, and the remaining she-warriors halted. The sound of war was replaced by a the trampling of a huge stampede, headed straight for the Anchor Brothers. Anchus saw this and freaked out.

"RUN FASTER, BROTHER! We need to make tracks!"

"I'm a trying, Anchus! They are fast little buggers!"

They ran out of the clearing into the forest, still being pursued by the nagas and dridders. Anchorus tried to avoid the trees and foliage, but sadly could not. Every other second he ran into a tree, stumbled in a pile of brush or simply was caught off guard by a random passerby of a predator. Despite the obstacles, and occasional magical fireball from the predators behind them, the brothers continued moving without a moment wasted.

Unfortunately, they did not see the cliff infront of them, which blocked their exit. Anchorus stopped just in time after just spotting it to see the huge fall awaiting them. He turned back to see that the nagas had surrounded him, along with the dridders. They had their artifacts at the ready, not to mention their own crafted weapons and intimidating glares.

Anchus was at his wit's end, and did not know what to say to Anchorus. He paced the big droid's shoulder, unsure of their next move.

"Brother... I'm afraid we're in quite a situation."

"What do we do, Anchus? Should we jump, or should we fight?"

Anchus looked down at the cliff, seeing only a grizzly fate for them.

"*sigh* Since jumping would only guarantee our termination, we have no choice to fight. Now, get ready to hold them off."

Anchorus had little to say, but came up with an idea. He grabbed a nearby 100 foot tree, ripped it out of the ground, roots and all, and posed it as a weapon.

"Brother! How's this for a weapon?"

"Excellent idea, Anchorus. Now, LET'S GET THEM!"

The brothers charged at the massive hoard, jumping high into the air and then crashing down into a heavy concentration of them. He swung the tree like a baseball bat, smacking nagas and dridders left and right and flinging them everywhere.

Several ten foot dridders behind him crawled up onto his armor and prepared to use their magic, but Anchus jumped them in surprise. He grabbed one by the leg and threw her right into another dridder. Anchus then turned to the other three dridders on Anchorus and body slammed the middle one, making sure to grab the feet of the other two as he dragged them down.

"Sorry, ladies, but your sticky feet are useless on my brother's armor. And it sucks when several tons of metal land on you, don't you think?"

He slammed into the ground with all three dridders, turning them on their backs and flattening them in the process. Anchus got up fast and saw the other thirty dridders on their way. He jumped back up on Anchorus and his shoulder and held them off as the large droid swung his massive wooden tree weapon at the predators. Though it kept him at bay, Anchorus was not up for an entire day of this.

"Brother... I can't take much more of this. They just keep coming, no matter how many of them I bat out of the park."

"Alright, Anchorus, it looks like we can't fight them all. Even we have our limits.... wait! I think I have a solution. Head towards the cliff."

Anchorus turned around and ran as fast as could toward the cliff. He stopped right at the edge and looked down.

"Now what, brother?"

"Jump, Anchorus! Grab onto the cliff's edge and slide down. It will slow down our descent."

"But brother. You said that may not work."

"Well, we're out of options. Just do it!"

Heeding what his brother said, and with the tree still in hand, Anchorus jumped over the cliff and ran his free hand into it's side. He skid down incredibly fast as his hand surged through the rocky side of the large cliff. Anchus held on for dear life, and for some reason Anchorus held on to his tree as well. They slid for minutes, boring through rock every second.

When they at last slammed into the bottom, Anchus and his brother were brought to their knees. The surrounding area shook from their impact, and various rocks and other debris littered the ground. They looked up and saw very angry predators, but they did not follow. Even the dridders gave up chase and turned around, heading back up the cliff. This gave the brothers a chance to take a sigh of relief, and gave them an opportunity to talk in peace.

"That was close, Anchorus. We were almost terminated for a milisecond."

He then looked at his brother's hand and noticed the tree still there.

"Wait a minute... Anchorus; why do you still have that odd looking tree in your possession?"

"Well, brother. We could always use it as a weapon. Right?"

Then, from out of nowhere, they heard a very annoyed voice nearby.

"Excuse me! Could you put me down?!"

Anchus looked around and heard the voice, then turned to the tree in Anchorus' hand. The tree he had uprooted was actually a DRYAD! She looked mad, and despite being used as a bat, looked rather healthy. Anchorus quickly gasped and felt embarrassed holding her legs like a handle.

"Oh damn!! I'm so sorry madam. I didn't notice you there. Let me put you down."

He found a spot with soft soil and jabbed her into the ground softly. He twisted her in to make sure she was tight in the soil. When he backed away, the dryad woman still looked very angry.

"You are so lucky you didn't tear my roots, you human miscreants. Now, give me one good reason why I shouldn't choke you with my flora children."

Anchus stepped up and spoke for the two of them.

"I apologize, Miss tree person. I hope you can forgive my brother for using you as a bludgeoning device. You see, we were desperate and had to act fast, and you looked like the only weapon nearby. If I may say one thing in our defense... ANCHORUS! RUN FOR THE HIGH HILLS!"

The two brothers turned tail and flew off at mach speed in a most Benny Hill-esque fashion, leaving a trail of smoke behind them as they fled away from the dryad, who settled her roots in and decided to forget about the brothers for now, though she still shook her fist in anger at them.

The brothers, as they ran, were now en route to their next destination; the Felaryan Ocean.

I thought Anchorus had weapons. Good ol' mishaps, they're always funny. Lol, if Sean's bro was there, he would answer the Dryad by saying that they don't even breathe in the first place. You know, Anchus and Anchorus reminds of Colonel and Iris in Megaman X4: Colonel is the perfect soldier while Iris is the navigator and tactical genius, both programming were irreconciliable, so they had to be "brother and sister". There should be moar concept like this one.

PostSubject: Re: The Anchor Brothers in Felarya   The Anchor Brothers in Felarya Icon_minitimeMon Feb 25, 2008 9:13 am

Thanks.

Well, the weapons I refer to earlier on fall into one of these categories:

too small to fight the preds with (minor staff weapons and grenades)
broken on impact when they came to Felarya (lasers, vibro-daggers and such)
and
The doomsday cannon, which they've both sworn not to use unless it's a real emergency.

I know being surrounded by a hoard of angry predator women seems like a bad situation, but it didn't justify the use of the "Doomsday Cannon". Using it is a one time deal (at least per week) and it's never even been tested before. Heck, I'm not even sure if they'll survive it.

It's tough enough to even pose a threat to a guardian, so they know it has to be completely desperate to bring it out.

I'll bring a few of these "lesser mentioned weapons" into play in future chapters, and hopefully I'll be able to pull it off.

I hope that clears things up, and thanks again.

Chapter Four

The brothers continued running for hours away from the angry predators which they assumed were still chasing them. Their trek across the forest went on and on, until they finally stopped at the beach. Over the horizon the great Felaryan Ocean stretched, filled with pure blue water. Sailors took their boats onto the water (where they were eaten) divers explored the vast under seas (where they were eaten) and even mermaid girls sat upon the rocks, singing their beautiful songs (until they were eaten too).

Anchus looked out into this vast expanse, plotting their next course very carefully.

"Ah, yes. The vastness of the sea. Quite a sight. Wouldn't you agree, my brother?"

"Sure, Anchus. Whatever ya say."

Anchorus seemed rather uncaring about the expanse of water, but instead felt tired. Something was on his mind.

"Anchus, our power cells last for centuries, right?"

"Of course, brother. Why do you ask?"

"Well, I'm feeling a bit sluggish today."

Anchus was not sure of why he felt this way, until he had a thought and opened a compartment in Anchorus' skull. He examined an odd meter on the panel and came to a conclusion.

"Damn. Well, brother, according to your status levels, though your power cell is just fine, it appears you are short on electrical energy. Without it, we're susceptible to the 'energies' of this world. We need to recharge, and fast, before I begin to feel this fatigue as well."

The two scanned the beach, searching for any sign of technological assistance to ease this "fatigue". Unfortunately, there was none to be found, which left the brothers in quite a situation. They traversed the beach head, befuddled by their predicament. They continued until they heard an odd noise.

"Anchus... what is that noise?"

Anchus looked upward to see a thunderstorm which was coming to a close. Lightning began falling as thunder clashed in the air, but it subsided soon enough. What caught the brothers' attention was the spectacle on the ground; an odd assortment of irregularly sized crabs, each with metal spikes in their back and metal pincers as well. An electric charge emanated from each one, which caught their attention. While Anchus analyzed the creatures, Anchorus thought to himself for a moment, thinking about the new creatures before his eyes.

"Ooh. They have quite a charge. I wonder..."

Without thinking (much like Anchorus usually does), he ran forward up to one of the crabs and picked it up. Anchus once again panicked and reprimanded his dimwitted brother.

"ANCHORUS! What are you doing? You don't know where that creature has been."

Without warning, the crab shocked Anchorus, jolting him with over half a million volts of electricity (the storm did contribute, after all). The big droid fell on his back in shock, throwing Anchus on the grass behind him and scattering the crabs around the area.

Anchus got up shortly after to check on his brother, but it didn't look good.

"...Anchorus? Hello? ... Brother?"

It seemed grim for the poor droid, that is, until he suddenly jumped miles into the air without warning, nearly making Anchus self destruct in surprise. Anchorus came crashing down with a large grin on his face, which he showed to his brother.

"Anchus! You won't believe it! Those crabs... they're charged with energy we can use."

"What? You mean that shock recharged your system?"

"Look for yourself."

Anchus was skeptic at first, but when he looked at the meter in his brother's head, he was proven wrong. The meter was at full, which surprised him.

"Incredible. It is recharged. Maybe it works for me too..."

Anchus slowly approached one of the "electric crabs"and grabbed it by one of it's metal spikes. The crab retaliated by sending a shock of half a million volts through him. This resulted in the droid being sent back with a kick, almost throwing him back for miles. Fortunately, Anchorus was there to catch him before flying back too far.

"What did I tell you, brother? It is incredible."

Anchus looked up at his brother, and, after rubbing his own head from the pain, he looked at the charge in his own hands.

"You're right. For once, your brave act of bufoonery has proven useful. With these electrical creatures, we have no worry of running out of power. Though I suppose my smaller stature can't handle it like yours can."

The brothers recollected themselves from the little experience and began to monitor the crabs for the rest of the day, hoping to learn more about them.

"Fascinating creatures these crabs are, don't you think Anchorus?"

"I'll say. With their power, we won't run out for centuries!"

"Exactly. Now that we've documented this area, we can return at any time to get a quick charge. We will never falter with this kind of energy."

However, their discovery was cut short by an odd noise overhead. They heard the sound of flapping wings hovering above them, followed in suit by loud ear piercing bird calls. The brothers were unsure what to make of the sounds, and looked up to see what was causing them. What they found was the shrieking calls of two female harpies circling above, but by the time either brother had noticed them, the girls had decided to dive bomb into the area, taking Anchus and Anchorus by surprise. The crabs scattered at their sudden presence. The harpies (who were apparently sisters) surrounded the brothers with voracious and angry expressions. The girls stood tall at 40 feet each, their feathers were autumn brown, their eyes were yellow and their hair was red. For some reason, they also spoke with a Southern Accent to eachother.

"Well, well, well. Look what we have here, sister. Two boys trespassed into our feeding zone."

"I see, sister. They're very cute, especially the big one, and the little one looks delicious."

"What do you think we should do to them, sister?"

"I say we split the small one and play with the big one. He looks fun."

Unfortunately, Anchus did not share this plan of theirs, and jumped onto Anchorus and his shoulder in defense, attempting to reason to with the sisters.

"Excuse me, ladies, but I don't think you want to hurt us.You see, we were just leaving. All we needed was a quick charge from these creatures. Now, if you'll excuse us..."

Anchus pointed his brother in the direction of the beach and told him to walk very slowly towards the exit in the territory. However, they were stopped in their tracks by both harpies, who landed infront of them rather abruptly, and still held a hungry guise upon their faces.

"Where do you think you're going? You two are ours now."

As the girls rapidly approached, Anchorus took multiple steps back. Anchus thought relentlessly to try and find a way out of the situation.

"How can we avoid this situation? We need a method of escape..."

The sisters gained ground on the brothers with increasing speed, and yet Anchus was unable to think of anything, despite the countless pacing on his brother's shoulder. This went on, until he looked at his brother's inventory stash (located in and on his back for convenience) and got an idea. He opened the hatch and began digging around for tools. This caught Anchorus' attention.

"Hey brother... uh... what are ya doin?"

"We need a few weapons here. Lemme check our stash."

"But brother. You said few of the weapons were effective against predators of this size."

"I know what I said! Now trust me! I believe I may be able to utilize these implements successfully."

He rummaged through the supplies quickly and found exactly what he was looking for; a grenade and electro staff. Now he had a plan.

"Okay, brother. Here's what I propose; charge the two harpies as fast as possible, and let me do the rest."

Anchorus did just as his brother ordered, stampeding head on into the harpies. The two girls only laughed as the big droid ran towards them, mocking him in his so called "futile attempt to catch them". They flew right over his head before he had even reached them. However, they lost sight of Anchus, who jumped up high and hitched a ride on the right sister. She felt his presence and squabbled in confusion.

"AGH! Get off of me, you little vermin!"

She tried to shake him off, but Anchus jabbed the electrospear into her wing and held tight, ensuring he wasn't going anywhere. Next, he began delivering electrically charged punches to her back, causing her to writhe in pain. The other sister tried to intervene by flying towards her, but Anchus had prepared for this. He jumped ontop of the girl's head, took out the grenade and, after pulling the pin, threw it right at the other harpy's face. It exploded on impact, blinding her in the process. Now she couldn't see where she was flying, and was still headed for her sister, immobilized in the air in pain. Anchus, right at the last second, jumped off of the harpy and onto the ground. He looked up as he landed to see the two harpies crash into eachother full force, then freefall to the ground, kicking up dust.

With a smile on his face, Anchus went up to his brother in victorious prose.

"Excellent job, if I do say so myself. Right, Anchorus?"

"Yeah, brother. You really put those bird things in their place."

The brothers turned to the harpies and confronted them while they were still down.

"Well, you foolish feathered creatures... who's got who now?"

Instead of responding, however, the sisters let out a high pitched avian shriek, stretching across Felarya. Not a creature alive could avoid the call. Before they knew it, the brothers heard the sound of VERY large wings flapping above them. It was another harpy, but this time it was huge. The monster dropped straight down near the fallen sisters, crashed into the sand and, upon recovering, looked at them solemnly. Anchus and Anchorus could tell that this harpy was different from the other two. It stood over 80 feet tall, and it was a male. Specifically, it was an alpha male. The feathers were blue on this one, it's hair was pitch black and it's eyes were blood red. In it's mouth lay rows of sharp teeth, almost as sharp as his incredible talons. The very intimidation he emanated from his powerful figure was staggering, to say the least.

Anchus and Anchorus looked upon this beast, and had only one thing to say together.

"Oh crap."

Why does I assume Anchus' voice is the same as Stewie Griffin? Must be because he's small and a genius. It's great, hope Anchorus' weapons gets repaired, hey try something with the electro staff electocuting the water, it's gonna be awesome.

Chapter Five

The mighty harpy male stood several feet over the brothers, as did his rage. He looked at his poor harpy women, who were cast aside like mere toys, and dawned a new expression upon his brow. It was not a voracious expression, but instead a murderous one. With this expression he turned back and looked at the two droids.

"Who are you? ANSWER ME NOW!"

His voice shook the ground in a thunderous tone, which was rather unsettling for the brothers. Anchus, trying to calm down, attempted to explain the situation to the large male.

"Well, sir... I am Anchus, and this is my brother, Anchorus. You see, we were passing through when suddenly...."

However, the big brute interrupted viciously, then pointed to the two downed harpies.

"DID YOU DO THIS TO MY WOMEN?!"

Hearing this made the brothers nervous. They became nervous at what would happen when they responded, yet Anchus answered anyway.

"Well, in a way, yes. It was us that beat those harpies. But let me explain. You see, they..."

Before Anchus could continue, the huge harpy interdicted.

"Enough. That is all I needed to hear."

Without a single warning, the giant harpy jumped up high and divebombed the brothers. Jamming them back using his powerful talons. This pushed them onto the ground and put them at his mercy.

"I am Gisor, the mightiest harpy on the Felaryan coastline. All the women in this region fall under my jurisdiction, and if you dare to mess with them, then you must fight me."

When he said this, Gisor jumped up high once more and readied his talons for a second divebomb. Anchorus scrambled to get up and out of the way, and even had Anchus pushing his massive rear out of the divebomb's path. They scrambled faster as Gisor swooped down, the very pressure pushing down on them during.

Fortunately, Anchorus and Anchus were able to barely avoid Gisor's talons, but the force of wind produced made them stumble near the oceanline, where the tenacious harpy male dug his talons into the beach sand and clawed closer to them. Anchorus got up fast and charged the creature, fist ready for punching. Instead of dodging, however, Gisor stood his ground, awaiting the big guy's punch. He put up his wing in defense, and when Anchorus and his fist landed a blow, though the shot was dead on, it only felt like a tap on his wing to Gisor. Anchorus stood bewildered.

"B..b..b...but how?"

Gisor laughed.

"Clearly you've never fought a male predator. To survive, you must put others in their place by being insanely strong. Looks like you need to learn this the hard way."

With one flick of his wing, Gisor smacked Anchorus back approximately ffifty yards into the water, splashes erupting upward in the process. Anchus was terrified at witnessing this attack, seeing at how much power Gisor had. He had to act fast to stop him, so he picked up his electrostaff and charged the beast without detection. Fortunately, he was able to jump onto the harpy's talon, climb up his back and stab him in the spine. However, what Anchus heard was not the sound of pain from Gisor, but instead the sound of laughter.

"HA HA HA! You really thought you could sneak by and beat me like that? Foolish humanoid."

He gave poor Anchus no warning before jumping skyward and quickly darting across the sky. Anchus could not hold on much longer, and he and the electrostaff fell off the mighty beast and plummeted to the ground. Anchorus scrambled upright and ran to pick up his brother. He caught the small fry in his hand right before he crashed into the ground. Sadly, Gisor took this opportunity to come from behind and dig his sharp claws into Anchorus' back. His titanium alloy armor was torn like cheap construction paper under those terrible talons. Now with a firm grip, Gisor threw both brothers into the ocean, where they came to a splashing halt.

Anchus got up and went onto his brother's shoulder, trying to figure out what to do.

"Anchorus... this is not good. He's not like the female 'harpies' we faced before. He is too strong."

"I know that, brother. Isn't there some way to beat him?"

Anchus thought carefully, yet quickly, seeing the looming figure of Gisor above them.

"Hmm... there must be a way... wait... what's this?"

Anchus could see a vague assortment of shadows underneath the waves, and could feel a powerful surge of energy going through his body. He looked closer and saw that it was the Electric Crabs! They were scattered in the tide, and the shock of battle had caused them to release electricity. In the water it conducted very well. This gave Anchus his inspiration for his next strategy.

"Brother! I got it! It's pure genius. Now, listen up..."

As the brothers discussed the new plan, Gisor grew impatient of them and, after flying up into the sky, targeted them and prepared for one more dive. Meanwhile, on the ground, Anchus drew to a close on his explanation, leaving his brother with oddly few questions.

"So... that's the plan? I don't think it'll work on him."

"Don't worry, Anchorus. You aren't here to think. That's my job. Now, follow the plan exactly."

Anchorus did just as his brother said and stood straight up, awaiting Gisor's dive. He also put on an intimidating stare, so as to draw Gisor in, which worked perfectly. The harpy flew down at top speed, faster than Anchus had predicted, but he still held to his plan.

Closer and closer he drew, tearing up the sound barrier upon approach, until he was face to face with the brothers. That's when they took action.

"ANCHORUS! EVASION MANEUVER! NOW!"

Right as Gisor's talons approached Anchorus, the big droid quickly kneeled his left foot into the briny deep of the water, then pushed it down hard. The spring force of energy sent him careening across the water to the right, just barely missing Gisor, who crashed into the sea behind him. The male was now angry, and he turned around to face the brothers, only being covered up to his waist in water.

"Ha! So that's all you humanoids have? A meager defense move? I'm disappointed."

Anchus was rather confused by this. The crabs were within his vicinity, and according to his scans, they were emitting a strong collaborative charge. What he did not get was why Gisor was unaffected, but then he remembered...

"Wait. OF COURSE! His skin is super tough. That explains why the electrified water isn't doing anything, and why my staff did little damage before... We have to get the electrical charge past his skin..."

Gisor laughed in their faces, assuming they had no plan left. Anchus clutched his fists in anger at this insulting bunch of laughs, until he realized he still had his electrostaff in hand. The sparks on it's metallic surface gave him another idea, which he whispered to his brother.

"AHA! Anchorus. I have one more idea. This time it'll work. It has to."

They discussed the plan again and then stood up to face Gisor, who was awaiting for them to make a move. Suddenly, Anchorus charged at Gisor yet again with a fist raised, and once more Gisor stood his ground, putting his wing out in defense.

"Ha! That didn't work before. What makes you think it'll work now?"

The big droid slammed into Gisor with all his might, yet the harpy still stood his ground. Once more the fist had barely hurt him, and he laughed and mocked Anchorus in the process.

"Ha ha ha! A useless gesture. Exactly what I'd expect from the two of.... hey! Where's the small one?!"

Gisor looked at Anchorus and found that Anchus was no longer on him. The smaller of the two droids had jumped up into the air at the last second, evading Gisor's sights. In hand he wielded his electrostaff, which was pointed down at Gisor. By the time the harpy had noticed it, it was too late. Anchus came down and forcibly jabbed the staff right between Gisor's eyes, which both stunned him and caused him unbearable pain, all the while reaching deep into the creature's skull. He angrily yelled at Anchus several profanities, but it did him no good. At that point, Anchorus followed his brother's directions and , since Gisor was now distracted, was able to deliver a mighty jab to the gut, which pushed Gisor over into the water, submerging him from the head down. It was here that Anchus shouted out another order to his brother.

"NOW, MY BROTHER! Electrify the seas with every single jolt of energy you have!!!!!"

When Anchus said this, he ripped his arm off and submerged it under the waves, flooding electrical current into the water. Anchorus and all the crabs in the vicinity did the same. The combination of all the electricity surged around Gisor's stunned body and was conducted by the staff sticking out of his head. The current of energy bypassed his tough skin via the metal in the staff and shocked his internal systems directly. Now Gisor could do nothing but flail in the tide randomly, as electrical energy passed through his body in a medley of udder pain. All the meanwhile he screamed bloody murderfor the entire duration of the shock.

When it came to a stop, the crabs scuttled away into the sea, and the brothers placed their arms back on. Anchus climbed back onto his brother and his shoulder to look at the charred body of the alpha male harpy floating infront of them. To the brothers, it was a sign of great victory.

Back on land, the two harpy sisters from before began to awaken. Both of their heads experienced terrible migrainses, and they could not recall much of what had happened. Just as they started to stand up, they looked toward the sea and saw Anchus and Anchorus slowly walking back to shore, an unconscious Gisor on their shoulders. They walked up on the sandy beach and threw the knocked out male harpy face up on the sand, then looked at the sisters with a triumphant gaze.

"You ladies should be supremely thankful. My brother and I don't spare our enemies every day, yet here we spare both of you and your joke of a leader, who should feel like crap for the next five weeks thanks to us. Now take him and go about your day. Brother. Let's go."

Before they left, Anchus jumped down and yanked the staff from inbetween Gisor's eyes, then jumped back up upon his brother's shoulder. They turned tail and headed deep into the forest to continue their travels, leaving the harpy sisters and Gisor in a stupor. They stood there, now terrified by the enemy that had vanished into the forest. What lay ahead of them was a complete mystery...

that was a nice chapter and the fighting was really intense Razz
Only thing is I am not sure there is actually male harpies... as I see it harpies would mate with another kind of avian creatures... the thought of a harpy with males features just sound a bit odd to me ^^;

Well, the male harpy was a bit of a tough choice to include, but I didn't really want to get Very violent with the females. With a male, I figured it wouldn't really be too bad if he got charred. Also, I plan not to have him in future chapters, since it was a one time deal.

But I'm glad you enjoyed nonetheless. I'll be sure to explain it in later chapters.

heh. I make reference to one of my favorite of Karbo's chars in this chapter. Take a guess who.

_______________________________________________________________________

Chapter Six

The brothers once again found themselved surrounded by the lush forests, and once more their path was a blur. Anchus sat upon his brother's scalp and tried to think.

"Hmm...that last encounter was an interesting one. Don't you agree, Anchorus?"

"What was so interesting about it, brother?"

"Let me explain... The minute we landed in this world, approximately 90% of all the creatures we encountered were female in gender. Gisor the harpy was the first male we had fought. Don't you find that odd?"

"Well, not really. Why are there more females in this world?"

"I'm not sure, brother..."

However, just as he was about to continue, the sound of a jetpack boomed through the forest. It was a deafening sound, almost unbearable. Before long, Anchorus spotted a flying object out of the corner of his eye. Looking closer, he saw that it was an old man with a jetpack flying about the forest. He flew in a crazed fashion, not seeing where he was going. Before he knew it, the old man crashed straight into Anchorus and his armor plated chest, which flung him back onto the ground in a confused stupor. While he was paralyzed with confusion, the brothers took a step back and conferred about the situation.

"Psst. Brother. Who is that?"

"I do not know, Anchorus. He is the first human we've seen here, though. Perhaps we can gather some information out of him."

When the man woke up, he looked up at the 70 foot giant infront of him, then at the ten foot droid with an electrostaff to his face. Anchus made his demand.

"Okay, human. I want answers. NOW."

The old man simply gazed uo at him and cackled.

"Well, hot damn. I haven't seen you fellers in this part of the forest before. Nice to make your acquaintence."

"Don't small talk me, old timer. We want answers. For example; where are we? What is this place? What are these creatures? Why has everything tried to eat and/or kill us? And why is everything predominantly female, and lacking clothing? And what kinds of species are we looking at here? They are nothing like what we found in our dimension."

"Well, shoot. I can answer most of your questions. Just sit back and allow me to speak."

The droids accepted his proposition and sat down next to a nearby tree to hear him out.

"Okay. First off, who are you?"

"Me? Well, I'm just an old man, enjoying my glory years navigating this here magnificent plane. It's not everyday you can be surrounded by beautiful women, you know."

He laughed heartily in a jolly tone, while taking out a cigar and lighting it's flame quaintly. The brothers were unmoved.

"Yeah, whatever. Continue on, old man."

"Well, I was testing out this jetpack for a friend of mine, and let me tell you, it was quite a doozy. It got me away from this one naga who chased me like crazy. She was beautiful, even in her determination to eat me. I remember her pretty pink hair... her wonderful golden yellow eyes.... her royal blue scales... the glisten off of her perfect body.... but anyway, I think she tore down half the forest trying to get to me. All I did was take out a cigar, and she suddenly comes after me. You know what I'm saying, sonny? The next time I see her, I'll be sure to hold off on the ol' cigar, but then again, I wonder how I would've fared if I had given her my jetpack... she did have quite an interest in machines, seeing the stuff she had expertly built, but she was rather ticked from the cigar, and......"

Again the brothers, though patient, were getting tired of his rambling.

"JUST GET TO OUR QUESTIONS, YOU FRIGID GEEZER! We don't have a century to listen to your incessant nonsensical gibberish!"

"Whoa... don't blow a gasket there, fellas. I'll move on to what you want to know, so keep your compressors on... Now, I reckon you boys want to know everything, huh? Well, Lemme start with the basics.... ya see, this world ya'll crashed into is called Felarya. From my years of learning from the many creatures, it's a place where time and space meet in all dimensions. That means we get trolls, nagas, harpies, mermaids, the occasional dragon, nekojins, demons, succubi, arthropods, slug hybrids, lawyers, dryads and anything else you can think of on this plane. They either are born here, which makes them rather unique in their own respect, or they come from another dimension. Sadly for the small fellas, most of these creatures are rather voracious in nature. They don't get enough foods in this realm, and thus you two are seen as edible morcels, despite the fact that you machines are not that good for the digestive tract."

The last statement surprised Anchus and Anchorus.

"Wait... how did you know we were machines?"

"Now, come on. I may be a bit senile, but I'm not stupid. I could smell the technology on you a mile away."

The brothers were left speechless, but told the man to continue anyway.

"Well, where was I? Ah yes. Now, some predators here, as they're often called, don't enjoy eating their prey. Many are, however, territorial and prideful. You show up in their neck of the woods, and they'll kill you on the spot...."

Anchus then spoke.

"Well, I guess that explains a bit of it. Now, onto our next question; can you explain the oddly weighted ratio of women to men? And their lack of cover?"

"... Well, I'm afraid that's one thing I don't know. I do not know why women succeed men in population in this world. I guess it's just a mystery of the Felaryan world we'll never know. But I can tell you that the lack of clothes is due to the fact that, since everything here is trained in hunting, they shed any unneeded garments for their hunter lifestyle. As for the species themselves, there's alot to cover there...."

The old man went over every species he was aware of, from the tough as timber dryads and seductive and sexy nagas to the ever so nimble dridders and mighty aerial harpies...

...

It literally went on for hours. The man had much to say, and Felarya was such a big world...

...

The man had finally finished hours later, and the brothers were almost asleep by then. He came to a close just as he noticed their snoozing.

"...and that's why a harpy and a dridder should never have a child. You boys get all that? ... Hey! Wake your behinds up! Did you even get what I said?"

Anchus had woken up with a front and was startled by the man.

"Whuh? ughl... oh yeah... we got what you said. We snoozed off after you stopped talking about species and began on interspecies mating rtiuals and something about cake, if I remember correctly."

Anchorus woke up shortly after, just as confused.

"ugh... Say brother. Did the old coot finish yet?"

"Yes, he did Anchorus."

The brothers stood up and thanked the old man for his help.

"You've certainly been a great help to us. Our survival in this dimension will indeed be increased."

The old man bowed in gratitude as well.

"Yall are quite welcome. Be sure to visit me in Negav sometime. I'll 'drop in' whenever I can. Later!"

The man pressed a button on his shirt, and soon his jetpack exploded with thrust, sending up out of the canopy of the trees. His old man laugh could be heard throughout the forest. Anchus looked at the man and thought to himself.

"I guess not all meat creatures are bad. If only our creators were the same."

"I suppose, Anchus. But he forgot to tell us one thing; what's a 'Negav'?"

"Well, brother. I'm not sure. By the way he phrased it, it may be some sort of city. We should do a bit of investigation around before we continue. This 'Negav' may be of great help to us. We are in need of a few minor repairs, in case you haven't noticed."

Anchus pointed to the holes in Anchorus' armor and reminded him of the other damages he had sustained. This set them in agreement as they decided to seek out Negav. It was an easy task for Anchorus, who could sweep the forest rather easily. They ran across rivers, sinkholes and hungry predators, seeking this human city...

About one hour later, they had finally located it at the end of a long and trying path. At the end the forest it was. The town named "Negav." It was quite a heavily fortified city, even for Felaryan standards. The walls were heavily armored, enough to even withstand a predator stampede.

Unfortunately, they did not take kindly to even the gentle predators and giants. When Anchorus approached, several humans came out with powerful weapons, ready to take him down. Anchus stepped down to handle the situation.

"Anchorus... it looks like you need to stay out here. I'll go inside and see what I can find."

Anchus went inside the city gates, okayed by the humans there, while his big brother stayed outside. What Anchus did not know was that even in Negav it wasn't exactly a walk through the park...
