Felaryan Locust (Temporary Name)
Threat: Low. High to Plant-based life.
Size: 1 foot long
Disc: Swarming thoughout the jungle underbrush, Felaryan Locusts are nigh-unstoppable eating machines, with thousands of individual insects forming a swarm reaching hundreds of square feet. Thankfully for both humans and most predators, they have no intrest in meat. However, they are well-known for eating plants. They come in two different forms, one with wings and one without. Wingless Locusts are the most prevalant, and are green with tan mottled spots on it's back. Carnivious plants have been known to consume some, and in some smaller swams have been consumed by the faster-moving and acting plants.
The winged version though, identified quickly from it's translucent wings, and yellow markings replacing the tan, have developed a toxic secreation that functions as a type of herbicide. A few can completely kill the smaller plants, especally if eaten, and a number of them can even weaken Dryads. Thankfully, there is not that many of them. There are several theories as to why there are two different types. Some say they're seperate species that work togeather, others think that they're a mutation.
Locust Lizard
Threat: Minimal
Size: 12 feet long, 3 feet ground to shoulder.
Disc: Locust Lizards are the primary predator of the Felaryan Locust. They are capable of eating both winged and wingless with little to no effect. Vaguely resembing Anole lizards from Earth, they can snatch up the insects with it's long, sticky tounge from midair. Due to their food preferance, some dryad have attempted to tame some to keep them around. Also some Fairy have attempted at using size-altered lizards in an attempt to entice them with other prey, but thus far have had little, if any, success.
