Aliens vs Predator

Anyone else psyched about this game? I know I am. The same team that made the classic 1999 Alien vs Predator game is making this new one (for the PS3, Xbox360 and PC)...and so far, it looks really, really good. The graphics look impressive, it appears to have a very cinematic look to it, and I really like the sense of claustrophia and fear they seem to be going for with the Colonial Marines (just don't get much creepier than the beeping of that motion-tracker as you fumble around in the dark =P)...and the stealth kills the Xenomorphs and Predators can do are just brutal. Google some of the vids from their multiplayer demo event to see.

I am cautiously optimistic about this one. So far, it really seems like this could be an epic game, and a great way to bring back the Alien and Predator franchises (lets face it, the latest entries in them have sucked...Im looking at YOU Alien: Resurrection, and the two AvP movies >.>)

But yeah, its going to have 3 different campaigns (one for each race), and an 18-player online multiplayer component that supports all 3 species. They also mentioned some special multiplayer modes like "Predator hunt", where a team of Marines fight against one predator, and whoever kills it becomes the predator...and a "Survivor" mode, where a team of 4 colonial marines will take on endless waves of AI controlled Xenomorphs.

They have released videos of the Colonial Marine and Predator campaigns, but not much for the Xenomorphs yet. I'll link them below.

Anyway, Im really excited about this one. Im looking forward to playing as a Xenomorph and eating people's faces. omnomnom

The multiplayer is going to be insane. Xenomorphs climbing and jumping all along the walls and ceilings, Colonial Marines firing all over, and the Predators sneaking around cloaked and using all those high-tech toys they're fond of.

Figured I'd mention it here, try and see if anyone else was looking forward to it, or to let people know about it who hadn't been keeping up with its development. Can't wait for Febuary 16th to get here so I can start mowing down aliens with the good, ole M41A Pulse Rifle again (one of the best sci-fi guns of all time).

I'm also looking forward to it's release, I've been watching videos of it over on topless robot. It looks insanely promising so I hope it produces the good. I can't decide what I want to do more though at the minute, go around spearing everyone as a xeno or be a patient hunter as the pred. Poor mariens don't get much love do they

The PC demo came out last night on Steam.

The Xbox360 demo came out this morning, and the PS3 demo should be going up in a couple hours when the PS Store updates (its already out in Europe).

The demo is mulitplayer only...Deathmatch in the "Refinery" level. All three species are playable, and most, if not all of the weapons in the game are available.

unfortunately I'm focusing on a few things right now and will not get around to buying the game for a while.

Just a warning, the matchmaking system in the demo sucks. Find some friends, or finding a match could be tough. Its just the nature of demos though. Lots of kinks to work out.

I stopped about 10 minutes into the search on matchmaking because it was taking too long. I just went back to mass effect 2 XD

lol, yeah. The matchmaking system in all the demos is having a lot of trouble. They already patched the PC demo, and I believe they are looking at the PS3 and Xbox next. Just keep trying off and on. Once you get in though, the game is a blast. One of the most immersive games I've played in a while.
